Nice, currently I'm trying to make the "OG version" as bugfree as possible. The only thing that still seems to persist is the weird walking when Urag talks to you after belting you the first time. Don't think there are any major things wrong with it besides the things I already fixed/changed.

 

For the edit version I had a few things in mind to modify the start first, using the diary as a guideline

-Require you to do the intro quest first (so you get a room in the college)

-Lock the key behind a activator (box/fake panel etc) which you can't open with Urag nearby

-Add some kind of attention thing to lure Urag away. 

-Grab the key from the activator while he is distracted

-Get caught when you open the case

-Blizzard forms outside so you can't leave (disabled fast travel) until you spend a night in your room.

No that is the Devious Devices framework. You need that to be able to run this mod. Which uses things from that framework in 2 quests.

The only thing I'd suggest you add to this is some way to, "get away with it" like you can now by sneaking while opening the bookcase, so you can get the crafting manual without triggering the quest (for us players doomed with "restart-itis" and who don't want to keep doing this quest over and over, just to craft DD items lol).  That, or make the crafting manual available somewhere else.  Maybe somewhere that's not completely obvious until you have played the quest through once?

 

Besides, if you do get away with stealing from the forbidden bookcase you can always talk to Urag about what you found, and trigger the quest that way.

Found a quest breaking bug with the new system I tried to implement. The just uploaded hotfix should fix that. It will result in possible Zad spawn on Solsteim again. As Bethesda did not add any type of keywords to check if a location is a DLC one. ?

Could add the crafting book to the to be created "container" that you break open that also contains the key? If you don't unlock the case then it won't progress but you can unlock the crafting. Better way would be to add it to Urags room but Bethesda decided Urag does not need sleep or a room of his own

Thanks, has been a while since we talked about it ;) If you have some idea's for it lying around let me know. Currently sketching out some things before the start of the quest to make it a bit harder then just grab a key. To make it more in line with the diary. Planning to make Urag sort of a keyholder instead of only a quick flick after the quest and want to do something with Ebonite with Zad. But the last one I'm still a bit blank on idea's

Just FYI,

 

The mod Unforgiving Skyrim (addon for Unforgiving Devices mod) also detects the use of the key to open the bookcase  It then triggers a blackout and transports  the character away for a bondage quest.  Or that may be from Unforgiving Devices itself (but I think not).  Since Unforgiving Devices as a device escape mechanism is contrary to the whole idea behind Devious Deviants maybe a warning on the first page is all that's needed to avoid undesired surprises.

Seems a bit excessive if it triggers on unlocking a container? Don't think it's from UD itself, could be from US but haven't played that. But any mod that interferes on that level with the world would be a conflict to this mod. Not much I can do about that.

If there are any breaking bugs let me know before Saturday otherwise I will put the current version on a freeze and start working on the new intro quest.

Hello. Just wanted to share my experience, I have played through both quests on LE, and have not encountered any issue (except already mentioned Urag's odd pathfinding on the beginning of the quest), otherwise it worked perfectly by simply installing into LE, without any manipulation. Really good job, thank you for the mod.

 

p.s. actually this is my first time I managed to do "Sergius's experiment" quest, maybe I'm a but stupid, but it actually took me pretty long time to realize how exactly are conditions to successful quest ending are set. (I remember I could never understand it on same quest from "early" DDs)

Down loaded the hot fix, started a new game and character, got caught and searched first 2 locations, third location didn't show up. Went to all the skyrim and Solstheim Dwemer Ruins and Zed was nowhere. I did play it through before the hot fix without a problem.

I had loaded TheForbiddenTome Mod and found it was interfering with a few parts of your mod. Disabled that mod and everything works great.

im so confused, who said it was your responsibility? the world does not revolve around you. thx for answering the question i guess? could have just been not toxic, but sure.
