Kaos Wulf Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Another ENB. More shots. These two are my favorites. Not many underwater shots, and that interior light and shadow really blends well in the 2nd.

Guest ...failure Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Very beautiful shots there, good work and nice enb.
ao2thend Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Changed out some of the .fx files that NLA had in order to use some of features I wanted. After a bit of tweaking, I got this.

Only difference is the ENB's, which really all comes down to personal preference anyway.
noodles1976 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 After seeing ao2thend's shots, I took a look at the NLA preset and found my GPU really couldn't handle it satisfactorily. It looked very pretty...One. Frame. At. A. Time. What really caught my eye was the saturation of the colors, very brilliant and crisp. I found a preset that has a good foundation for customizing (based on vanilla lighting, with very bright colors) and have started making a few personal choice edits. It's still a bit too bright for my liking, but it's getting there! I still have some poor LODs, and I'm too big of a chicken to mess with Ugrids...so ignore the blocky trees and questionable grass. For comparison, this was the preset I was using before... ...the colors were a bit too muted, however the DoF effects were superb. With this edit, I'm hoping to get a hybrid between two of them. An ENB that comes to mind if you want something that's is kind of like NLA, but more performance friendly is Minimal ENB by Ewi65. You can find the ENB here (he was banned from Nexus so you can only get it here). http://4skyrim.com/realvision-enb-for-nla-mod-for-skyrim/ Maybe that will work?

I'll have to give that a try. I really enjoy understanding how these things work, and what settings do what by comparing them to other presets. It's a bit of pain when you're completely OCD about how the game looks like I am! Thanks a lot ao2thend! N~dles
ao2thend Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 So after playing through the Witcher 3's main story, I decided to go back to messing with my ENB. These shots are some of the ones I took while developing and changing it. I broke the shots up into versions, corresponding to the changes I made to the ENB. Feedback is always appreciated. Version 1 Version 2 Version 3 Version 4 Version 5 Version 6 Version 7
Taskmaster Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Those turned out great. I'm more partial to Version 3.

It's between 2, 5, and 6 for me. And what!? You already beat the Witcher? Though, I'm such a completionist that I can't help but do every single quest and find all the locations. I've actually out-leveled the main storyline.

I've actually out-leveled the main storyline. Thanks for the feedback, and yes, I beat the Witcher on Monday/Tuesday (it was around 2-3am on Tuesday). I wanted to get through the main story so I only did enough exploring and side quests so I could be the appropriate levels for the main quests. I will probably do a more thorough play-through soon because there is so much I didn't really do because I focused so much on the main story.
noodles1976 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Hey there ao2thend...I'm partial to version 7. Again, it's the crispness and sharp details that really pop in your shots. I did a bit of reading on TESGeneral and followed a few links here and there and came across this preset...anybody here ever tried Organic ENB? I was surprised I haven't heard about this one before, it looks amazing IMO after a few minor edits in the gui. It's fairly performance friendly on my system (8 core 3.5 GHz , 16 GB of RAM, 1 GB GPU), getting a steady 30 - 40 FPS depending on location...it tanks in Whiterun, I think this is true for everybody regardless of preset though... It's worth taking a look at if anybody is shopping around for a good, low performance impact ENB with great visuals: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38917/? N~dles

Organic is a fine ENB, and its fairly user friendly.

ao2thend Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Changed out some of the .fx files that NLA had in order to use some of features I wanted. After a bit of tweaking, I got this. What .fx files did you swap to? Here's what I used: Serenity ENB's enbbloom.fx Grim and Somber Jyggalag ENB's enbsunsprite.fx, enbsunsprite.tga and .ini sun settings Insomnia ENB's enblens.fx, and enblensmask.png file lastly, I used Zeroking's effect.txt file I kept NLA's enbeffect.fx and enbeffectprepass.fx and edited them. Other than that, its mostly NLA with several tweaks.
Taskmaster Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Nice, and thanks. Some of those choices have nice effects for sure. I never truly swapped as many different files out as you seemed to have, and it still kept NLA's integrity. I think I'll be piecing together a Frankenstein of my own. Usually I would swap around effect.fx and enbeffectprepass.fx but never the others.
ao2thend Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 The reason that NLA looks the way it does is primarily up to the enbeffect.fx file, which is why I left it. This was my third attempt to add edits to NLA by swapping out .fx files and this was the first time that it really worked. Most of the time it just wrecked everything. I am interested to see what you come up with.
