 Crewmembers (and pets, cause crewmembers are - to Starbound - just advanced pets) lose every bit of custom data upon "teleporting"; which is just killing the current entity and spawning a new one.

Older interface mod is breaking Sexbound Reborn, you have both installed, removed "TeratophiliaScenes" and keep the one prefixed with "SxB".

Okay, sorry if this is dumb, but I think I messed something up. In looking to get lustling working I figured out that I had SBR wrong (I had it in a folder like an idjit) now, I get an error on start up. If I ignore this error and open Starbound again it works, but I'm sure its doing something.

Give me SOME slack, there are 55 pages rn. And at least I am admitting its likely me being stupid. I'll go back and see what I find.

 

Also, if multiple people are having the same issue, it tends to mean that its not as obvious as you think. I mean, I could just be very blind and the FAQ already tackles this, but if not then it might help if it did.

To you, dear @Vitruvian, Sexbound Reborn comes as two separate mods, only one is necessary, but you must install them properly to get the API to be both recognized as installed by the game, and have it run properly. This copy-pasta sums it up for a single mod, but lemme explain further after;

The same applies to the Sexbound Reborn API, but it will include two mods in this structure, even if you pick the PACKED version. One, is the .pak file of the mod itself, and the other, the config files, separate, so you can manage them without applying a drill and tape to your mod. You don't need the config sub-mod to have it work, you just need to make sure at least the API is installed as shown above, a single folder inside the mods folder, with the _metadata file in there.

Okay, so I have both the pack and the config folder in mods, Imma go on a limb and say this is wrong then? Is config not ment to be in mods? Sorry about picking up the idiot ball, I just thought from what the install instructions said both go there... 

 

Here is what my mod folder looks like rn (I added a few mods from the mod think in game... unless that was just telling me what mods are already in it and I'm an idiot, and will then remove those mods. Also I know there are multiple aphrodite bow mods here, I don't know which are needed or not)

That is a completely modding unrelated error. It's a memory access violation, and to all my current knowledge, a Lua Starbound mod cannot cause this. This is either Windows being funky, your RAM being faulty, Starbound being funky, you having a custom version of Starbound like "StarExtensions", "OpenStarbound" or "xSB-2" installed which fucked something up in the backend code - or a combination of multiple of those.

 

All I can tell you is "If it doesn't happen 100% of the time, ignore."

If your folder structure looks like "mods -> SBR.pak" and "mods -> config folder", then everything is as it should be.

Yea... I might have gog unlocked it... yo ho? I do have an issue where the wheel doesn't show up on a node, just two little dots above my character. It might be because its just me? IDK The node in question is a bed.

Hi, I just downloaded a handful of mods from here including SBR. First time installing any of them on this PC. All the mods seem to load up fine, I get the item I'm supposed to get and it works, but when I try to instigate a scene, via monster or table, the wheel either doesn't show up or is extremely faint. Tried male/female. Tried using just SBR, same thing. I will add that I do have quite a few mods from the Steam workshop, including FU. I'm assuming something from the workshop is causing the issue but honestly I don't know how to read these logs, which is why I'm here : )

So, two things.

A: You have the wrong version of "Teratophilia Scenes". You do also have the right one, but only one of them is loaded - which is the wrong one.

B: You have a random stray "interface" folder in your mods folder. Remove that.

None of the characters I've made since installing SBR have spawned with the Sexbound Customizer or the codex item, but otherwise I haven't noticed anything I can say with certainty is a problem

That... sounds like you have SBR installed wrongly (not at all for as far as the game is concerned), or another mod overrides player scripts (in which case SBR wouldn't work for the player at all too)

 

Can'T say anything more without a log file though.

I found the problem, accidentally installed both SBR and the old Sexbound, sorry for wasting your time.

The issue is that you installed at least one mod that added playable races without also having a mod to increase the number of species slots in the Character Creation screen.  You can find Kawa's "Xbawks" extender on the Chucklefish forum's downloads section if you are running the game from a GoG install instead of Steam.

@Erina Sugino did a dirty bash of the outpost.json to replace the two Bathroom Stalls with the incorporated Lustbound gloryhole toilet, should work by extracting files into sexbound folder. Please check my work for any issues, I've not done this before.

I'm getting a CTD on certain saves that corrupts the whole file.  I am not 100% sure this is a Sexbound error, but given this happens when Sexbound animations start and the call stack seems to indicate Sexbound is trying to load into an animation and it's hitting an error and crashing.  Attempts to reload result in me popping in just before the crash reoccurs.

 

I don't know which one of my (many) mods is causing this, but I have no idea how to actually step through it as it happens.  It's toward the bottom.  There are a couple of errors up above, but they don't lead to the direct application shutdown like this one does.

 

Based on what troubleshooting I've tried to do (I'm not nearly as familiar with LUA as I am with C#), I think it's trying to load a facialmask of type 7, but whatever it is that's supposed to fill in the dynamic variable is returning an empty string or null, causing the double-slash to happen in the filename.  I just have no idea where it's actually *doing* that.  It *only* does it for Avians, so my first thought was to crack open some of the Avian-specific mods I have, like Avian expressions, but I can't find the culprit, especially when it's most likely a script error as opposed to a resource error.

 

I also can't provide a save file because this is about a day and a half after the fact, and I (being a shortsighted little idiot) deleted the files and generated a new save before I remembered to come here and ask around.

 

EDIT:  The culprit *might* be the applyRandomFacialMask methods, since they just generate empty strings in the fields that could be getting looked up.

Based on what troubleshooting I've tried to do (I'm not nearly as familiar with LUA as I am with C#), I think it's trying to load a facialmask of type 7, but whatever it is that's supposed to fill in the dynamic variable is returning an empty string or null, causing the double-slash to happen in the filename.  I just have no idea where it's actually *doing* that.  It *only* does it for Avians, so my first thought was to crack open some of the Avian-specific mods I have, like Avian expressions, but I can't find the culprit, especially when it's most likely a script error as opposed to a resource error.

 

I also can't provide a save file because this is about a day and a half after the fact, and I (being a shortsighted little idiot) deleted the files and generated a new save before I remembered to come here and ask around.

 

EDIT:  The culprit *might* be the applyRandomFacialMask methods, since they just generate empty strings in the fields that could be getting looked up.

 

To my knowledge, the culprit is "Cutebound" (Workshop Mod ID 761242493). They turn avians into harpies or something by just removing the beak textures, which results in these broken asset paths when Sexbound tries to assemble the actor. This is a known issue.

Objects should be the same size so no issues there. The idle position might be misaligned, but that's to be expected and something I would need to globally look into and fix for SBR.

I have looked into it at some point. Don't really know what the conclusion on that was though. I can put it on the 1.2 agenda.

 

For now, if you know a little bit of coding yourself, the makeshift solution should be quiet easy. Edit actor.lua, go to all the methods that have something to do with asset fetching regarding "head" textures (including hair and facial hair and stuff), and add a step where the final path is regex edited so that every "//" is replaced with just "/".

That could also be a short-term fix, but certainly not a long-term solution.
