> Last night the three of us watched Sci-Fi horror movie. We have been very thrilled with the story and the special effects. My Prince and I love everything about AI (We wanted to have Megan :classic_happy:), so we talked about it after the movie. Of course, we also talked about idea of having android as sex toy. We both liked it ( @KoolHndLuke posted excellent thread about it. Don't worry, I will not do the same :D ).

> The thing that I would like to know is what would you rather have: highly AI android that will be and do whatever you want it to be or have a pet (dog, cat, whatever). The three of us would like the first choice. :) And I will tell you why: there is less chance for fully perfected android to break and harm you then an animal, it lives longer than your pet, you can't get any decease from android unlike from animals; you can talk to it, learn from it and do all humanoid activities that you can't do with pets, and so on and so on. Those and some other arguments were good enough for us to choose android over dogs or cats. Yes, I know, there is no guarantee that it won't break but for us, there are much more pluses then minuses for picking the android as first choice.:classic_rolleyes:

> I highly recommend you to watch this movie

:classic_rolleyes:

From my very personal point of view

Horror? -> a bit

Topics like AI or androids? -> very weak

well - the topics "robots" (which "including androids" and "artificial" intelligence) have been moving me for 50 years - if I really want to go deep into it - then I can only read Japanese animes ala "Ghost in the shell" or "Neon-Genesis -Evangelion" recommend

who, on the other hand, has only had "superficial" contact with these topics...
...yes - why not - can provide an interesting view for the person concerned

Neither the one nor the other

The Swedish film series "real human" implemented this topic much better

is perhaps not so superficially made for "action" - but for me it is a counterpart to films (or series) like "Terminator" - in which the "action" suffocates everything that is actually worth thinking about

Unless it breaks the 3 laws created by Asimov, which has been a topic I have seen in the past few years. I want to be the person who does not judge anyone for wanting / not wanting an AI, but in my own personal space one would not be welcome unless it was doing housework. I want a mate who responds to me, who tells me no when necessary, who is not a "Lap Dog" ( I have one of those who hogs the bedspace every nite), Someone who thinks for themselves and make choices that are not calculations.

Besides I always thought "Dolls" were for those who did not want to interact with the world or those living in it. No Judgement from me.

Such films strike me more as a kind of message than anything, a message that says "android dangerous, woman better" more or less. I mean there is that one film I can think of where a guy and his A.I. girlfriend fall in love with each other, and that was fine of course because the A.I. couldn't fuck him, or cook for him, or cuddle him, or basically do anything of the things a flesh and blood woman could do for him, but an android? Oh hell no, those always have to become self aware and turn on their masters or otherwise be very dangerous. I mean we can't encourage anything that could compete with, and or replace women or anything like that, no android/sex bot movies with happy endings for you..

Anyway, now that the rant is over, if I had the means I would definitely get an android right now, in fact I would probably have her look like my current toon in Skyrim because she's an 8 or 9/10 dark elf (in my opinion), and I have a thing for elves.

I don't want to pour "water in the wine" and start a technical discussion about modern robotics...

..but even Asimov showed (in his later novels) how the robots could circumvent his laws without breaking them.

But then the "Urban Legend" of these laws had already been brought into the world and it still haunts us today.

"Hal 9000" already breaks these laws in "Odysee 2000" and what was behind it is only revealed by the author in "Odysee 2010"!

In addition to Asimov, Stanislaw Lem also dealt with these questions in an often humorous or bizarre way back in the 1960s

A series that, in my opinion, takes up and implements the topic "Human versus Android" very well -> Westworld

If I have to choose, Pet.

I'm one of those People who can't even get into a sexual relationship without the bare minimum of emotional attachment. I can't see me falling in love or having a crush for a none living Ting even if it simulates Life and Intelligence. I would rather get a Pet and have an emotional relationship with it, than getting a Robot and have a pure sexual relationship with a Thing. Also too expensive. It would just be masturbation. I already can do that without throwing money out the window. Also the pure thought of replacing a real human with a Bot is scary.

Just a bit of arrogance on "Man's" part thinking that they have a better idea to control AI. I read an article a while back about the AI that is already working, though not in a body type of thing just in a Computer, and it was posed the Asimov question, it broke the laws in short order.

It is actually an article you have to read.

I know the more preferable choice here for most is the sex android. But I think about my cats and what life would be like without them and... well, it would suck. I've nurtured these animals for many years now and I dare say we have a sort of "connection" that you simply cannot have with an artificial intelligence. I've read stories about animals (dogs mainly) that were unintentionally abandoned by their masters and traveled hundreds of miles to find them again. That's love and loyalty, This is pretty much an exclusive quality of our flawed biological life. What gets me the most about animals though? They look straight into your eyes and I'd swear they're communicating something. Probably "feed me", lol. ;)

I would add that it is life's unpredictability that makes it so interesting. By everything I've witnessed about people, we like it that way. An A.I.- no matter how sophisticated- will execute predictable, rote functions over and over for eternity.

Like it or not this sort of thing will be an option someday. There are already A.I. girlfriends in the for of Replika (I think that is spelled correctly) which are reportedly pretty life like already, I can honestly imagine that going in the direction of, basically an online forum, like a dating site with male and female A.I. that have designed an "avatar" for themselves and each have their own personalities, and you can go to one of these forums and find a digital partner that you connect with. Later you will almost certainly have very life like androids and maybe even "replicants" just like in the movie Blade Runner, though such things would likely be WAY down the road. There are already plans to create the artificial womb, so that will also be a thing.

I'm not kidding when I say that women will be entirely replaceable at some point.

Now - after 50 years of reading books, watching films and series and even working with them (as an industrial robot) - I was at a point to put my very own view on this topic into a blog story

Spoiler

My name is "Zao Seungeum" - but everyone calls me Zao Sue - at least they know that I'm a Chinese agent - who was smuggled into the Boston dominatrix club "Bizarr Dollhaus" (in Goodneibor) under the name "Mistress Tomie" for the purpose of infiltration .

Fallout4_MoDA81y5AZ.jpg.9530ea304dcf8e4ea6ec018be3c892bf.jpg

I was arrested on June 6, 2077 on suspicion of espionage - and tortured so severely during interrogation - that I will die within days.

Fallout4_Kapitel36_34.jpg.235f228064c883c4da7d11e5096ac460.jpg

I was brought to the CIT to meditate my brain and, after my death, to sit back and review the memories I had gained.
The tag "X" prevented this.

Almost 200 years later, I began to be purposefully recreated as a synth (synthetic biological human)...
...the institute's leisure facilities required a professional dominatrix and the only thing that was still legible in my files (next to the pictures) was -> my job

Fallout4_Kapitel_01_04.jpg.b26823eeae3cad4ff18504e4726ff8a0.jpg

So I lived as a slave and in the studio I had the task of "perversely funning" those slave owners

yes - I managed to escape - in a replica Chinese naval uniform - which was made for the studio as a role-playing accessory (if I'm not being ironic)

Fallout4_Kapitel_01_01.jpg.25efc0c4c8c62391fd2be04a7dbc5d3f.jpg

On my escape I met another Pleasure-Bot - a cyborg named "Ivy" - outside real (synthetic) flesh - inside metal skeleton and a "nuclear heart" (designed to last 80 years)

and in the head a real human brain - one captured female raider bosses.

What am I - do I only pretend to be "dominant" for professional reasons - or is there a real sadist in me...

..in any case I have a lot of fun with my new "Pet".

Fallout4_Kapitel40_68.jpg.f5fd7c696b616b00f0a80b6054031869.jpg

And again and again the past catches up with me - but whose?
Yes - the captain of this submarine - which has been lying aground in Boston Harbor for 200 years - is my uncle and foster father...
..who survived as a ghoul.

Fallout4_Kapitel30_35.jpg.72e3bf9152dab6450a2e92e857b30ad4.jpg

And so that he doesn't recognize me - I slip into the role of another woman...
..who was my neighbor Nora in the summer of 2077 and was carrying her and Nate's (her husband's) child.

Fallout4_Kapitel_02_16.jpg.5699b353f3379c7bc41b48e30a7e5b89.jpg

When I first entered the vault, I found her corpse - 200 years in the cryo box and then being struck with a surge bolt.

Fallout4_Kapitel_02_19.jpg.bf7f578020484da9cbac97757489df47.jpg

And I know that she had witnessed the kidnapping of her son "Shaun" not a few weeks earlier - but more than 60 years...

..because, strictly speaking, Nora is my biological grandmother - because all biological synths come from the cells of her son "Shaun" - the current head of the institute and the head of the slave owners.

So look into my eyes and tell me -> Who am I?

I'd like to get a pet but it's hard to reconcile it with traveling: it doesn't feel right to pawn one off on a family member or animal hotel for weeks at a time. Meanwhile, an android is all positives. It can do chores. It can cook you three nutritious meals with perfect macros every day. It can drive for you. It can be your personal trainer or even teach you martial arts. Only downside is having to pick which one actress it would look like.

Could probably use machine learning to slowly figure out what the perfect person looks like to you specifically and it would change its looks to reflect that; it would even "age" alongside you as your tastes develop over time. Idk if having instant changes in looks would be a good idea though. Being able to switch between Church-girl and sex-goddess in five minutes would have its uses, but it might mess with people's ability to bond with it.

Maybe it shouldn't be an "which one" question.  Maybe it should be a "why not both" question.

When talking about androids vs pets, I'd want them for different things, and they'd be serving different needs.

An android can cook and clean for me, have a conversation, and maybe provide "other" benefits.  At the end of the day though, it's only doing what it's programmed to do, not what it wants to do.

On the other hand, if you've got a dog or a cat, no, they're not going to cook or clean, and will instead make more of a mess.  But, if they come up to you and put their head in your lap waiting for you to pet them, it's genuine affection and companionship.

that is false imo their are people who would want that. A girl that can go between church-girl and sex-goddess. Well those who I know would so go for someone like that. I am also someone like that, I want someone who can switch between the two.

Edit: I seen M3GAN and I quite enjoyed it, waiting for the sequel.
