Kashked Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Game's been out a couple of days now and I'm curious how far people have managed to come so far, just in general terms, no spoilers! Myself I have had the privilege of being able to play basicly non-stop since I got my paws on it. Not many waking hours have been spent on other things. I've reached lvl 29, spent 55 hours playing and has passed 61 days in-game. I've become leader of both the companions and the Winterhold College, as well as helped the Stormcloaks take over Skyrim. I've finished 4 quests for the deadric princes, Molag-Bar, Meridia, Peryite & Sanguine. I've lost count on how many dragons I've slain, but I think it is in the region of 10 or something, maybe 15... Also I have managed to kill almost 500 people, most of them with my enchanted (absorb life) skyforged waraxe I have named "Vampire". Still, my journal is crammed with quests I haven't started with yet (not to mention the misc-stuff to which there is no end...) and I haven't even visited Falkreath or Dawnstar yet, and have hardly done any quests in Morthal, Solitude or Riften. Lack of things to do is not a problem, finding merchants who can afford my loot is. I have chests full of jewelery, enchanted items and precious stones in my homes in Windhelm and Whiterun, and more magical weapons than I know what to do with... My biggest concern right now is wheter to finish the main quest (I have a feeling there isn't much left), however I am concerned that once you finish it there will be no more dragons, meaning no more dragon-souls, meaning I won't be able to learn all shouts. Does anyone know if this is the case?

Mud Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Level 30, 54ish hours played, accomplished... not a whole lot. Haven't eradicated the Silver Hand yet. Haven't rooted out the source of the Thieves Guild's problems yet. Haven't unraveled the mystery at the College of Winterhold yet. Haven't even entered the Bard's College. Haven't found out why the dragons are returning yet. Still haven't visited two holds. ...What the heck have I been doing for these 54 hours?

Chopping wood and harvesting potatoes...? I haven't visited the bards yet either, I wonder if you can perform the songs if you join them? In that case I shall celebrate every dungeon cleared with singing "Ragnar the red" over the corpse of the dungeon-boss.
DocClox Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Level 13. Spent about 12 hours playing, and then have to be away from home for the week, so can't play. Nightmare! Also have a secondary character - a level 5 Breton Sorceress as a contrast to my Nord Beserker.
HanPL Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Level 31 Main quest progress...hmm first village I only walk around, explore do side quests and enjoy the game
Irishredneck Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Level 29. Finished the Companions. Werewolf-ing it at night. (By Talos that is a friggin HOOT!)
pandabear Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I'm level 30 (didn't find out about the blessings that makes skilling up faster until yesterday... >_<) As for what I've accomplished; * I've become Archmage * I've progressed close to the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline * I've progressed close to the end of the Thieves Guild questline * I've probably slain around 30 dragons * I've claimed two daedric artifacts * I've just looted my first daedric weapon * I've reforged some sort of ancient amulet I can't recall the name of And worth noting maybe; I have many bounties exceeding 8000 septims. One at around 17000. I had to do a quest, but the guards killed me when I was in dialogue, so I just killed all the guards so they wouldn't bother me.
Kashked Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 * I've reforged some sort of ancient amulet I can't recall the name of Just finished that quest, frickin' epic...
windpl Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 25 lvl 22h And I'm getting bored... One other hand I went through wither 2 to the end. And it didn't even had character creation what I mostly value in rpg games... Does Skyrim is so bad or W2 so good?
Warrunner Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 59 hours played, level 34. Master of the Thieves Guild Done about a hojillion side quests, far too many to count. I am a Champion of Nocturnal I have given Meridia and Dagon the finger. I have become a master smith. I have collected the Wabbajack I have slain about 20 dragons I have talked to three dragons I have learned far more about the Thalmor then you'd ever want to know, fuck those guys. I am never, ever, going back to Markarth, fuck that place too.
gregathit Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 @windpl: There is a vast difference in the two games. Oblivion is a sandbox game with a central story you can either follow or ignore. Witcher 2 is a story game with some side quests you can do or ignore. You are stuck being a single character simply so that the story makes sense. Your really comparing apples and oranges when comparing those two games. As to the OP......only level 22 and 50 hours clocked. Joined companions and mages college but not completed either. Still have 2 major cities I have not visited and have slain 12 dragons. Been dungeon crawling mostly and loving it!!!!

Maybe you are right, but Skyrim have really hard time to recognize your exploits. I have some high ranking tittles in cities (nobility?) and highest rank In legion - and nobody give a fuck. In game about power your not so great. Why, I have to do everything by myself instead of sending fucking legion cohort to do it . They give you all this tittles but they are all worthless because there is no power behind them.
gregathit Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Mainly because Skyrim is not an arm chair generals game but rather a role playing game.....in other words you are the central character and you have to go out and get things done. What fun would a game be if you could just take a seat on a bench and the npc's solved the quests for you??????? Seems like a strange complaint you have but everyone has a different outlook I guess..... As to the titles....yea they are more window dressing than carrying actual meaning so I get you there. Again this is something that modders can easily fix once the CS is released.

Again this is something that modders can easily fix once the CS is released. It is not so odd to me, and mostly because it is role playing game... It is quiet sad that games this days are trying to make immersion of game instead of game. Like falbe 3 king, that need to run errands for npc... But it is enough of this I made this to much off topic.
Mashi Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Lvl 27, 51hrs in. I haven't really even begun the main quest yet ouside of the first two/three parts. I keep getting distracted by side quests. I have 10 major quests, and nearly 50misc quests in my log so far. I'm enjoying it a lot.
LifeandEd Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 New member here, thought it was time I stopped lurking. My imperial warrior is at level 42 right now after 55 hours. I've completed the companions' and winterhold's quest lines, and have done most of the thieves guild's. My armory includes one suit of dragon plate armor, a suit of dragon scale armor, along with two daedric bows, a daedric sword, and a daedric dagger. As for what I'm doing now, I'm currently looking for a flawless ruby to summon Peryite and a daedra heart so I can craft a daedric greatsword, which will be my main weapon while I level up two-handed. I didn't know daedra hearts were so important earlier in my run, so I foolishly used several of them in alchemy. Now I really regret it.
Ryanhabs Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Yin is lvl 51 or so, I dont really keep track. I have 67 hours invested so far. Steam tracker says I have completed 70% of the achievements for the game. I finished companions, thieves guild, dark brotherhood, mages college, I have 11 deadric artifacts collected, became a werewolf (and didn't cure yet), completed over 50 misc quests, bought a house in whiterun (its kind of a shitty house), got married, cleared over 50 dungeons, and absorbed a whole bunch of dragonsouls. I have maxed enchanting and smithing along with any skill that would tie in to playing an assassin. made 2 daggers, one called Life (base dagger was deadric, enchanted it with health absorb 25 points on strike, and increased to legendary status) and also crafted an offhand called death, basically same as the other dagger. Made a +40% sneak & +40% to onehand damage ring and necklace. increased all the nightingale armor up to legendary status. Its amazing how much you can get done when you play for an average of 11+ hours a day. LOl hopefully the newness wears off soon.
zoolou Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 lvl 35 32hrs with 64 in-game days maxed smith with legendary light dragon armor I use a legendary glass axe, mace, and bow I also use a legendary Mehrune's razor and blade of woe with Cicero's armor for stealth kills I have beaten the dark brotherhood and done a little bit in the rest of the guilds I have cleared blackreach and many of the dwemer ruins killed at least 20 dragons
galgat Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Level 31 Main quest progress...hmm first village I only walk around' date='explore do side quests and enjoy the game [/quote'] I am with you on that, I want to enjoy this not rape it. I hurried through the mage Guild main story so I could get the Archmage quarters, and now I am very, very slowly exploring, and looking, doing some side quests, and joining some of the guilds I feel will not conflict with others. Checking out the amazing way they have put it all together. and looking for the little flacky area'a. Imagining what might be done with this, or that, once the Construction set come's out. I did start the dragon side of the game. I wanted the shout power's. but for now it is mainly just taking my time, and exploring.
galgat Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 25 lvl 22h And I'm getting bored... One other hand I went through wither 2 to the end. And it didn't even had character creation what I mostly value in rpg games... Does Skyrim is so bad or W2 so good? I like witcher 1 and witcher 2, but I would have to agree that they are not the same game, only the RPG, but the type of RPG is way different. I also love the Dragonage games, they are more similar to W1 & W2, but they also are very different in that they allow you to choose your character, and gender. Where skyrin, Oblivion and Morrowind all differ a lot is in the fact that they don't embrace the fact that people have sex. W1, W2, and dragonage do accept this reality, and embrace it. It is the only beef I have ever had with Beth games. But to Beth's defence they do try very hard to make a game that most all ages can play. And I understand that, but they also give us the tools to add the more mature stuff our self if we are so minded too. Making the game very viable for everyone. And yes I do know that W1 and Dragonage are very moddable, I have modded them quite a bit myself. But Beth games have always had the best Modding system, and most Viable , and dedicated Modding fans. But they are all good.

pandabear Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Brotherhood quest(the one in wich you got to assassinate the emperors niece...picked the option to throw a stone statue on her head) That quest was awesome, I redid it many times just to experience all the different ways I could think of. I ended up shooting her in the heart with a conjured bow right when she went on about love and whatnot, not the most interesting, but definately efficient. I wasn't detected until that argonian idiot came to "help" me.
Kashked Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 Aaaa yes and killed every thalmor bastard i found during my exploration...everyone of those bastards got to go Hell yeah! On the Thalmor embassy-mission, where you are supposted to sneak around, I just turned into a werewolf and ripped them a couple of new assholes to put sticks up.
