Deus Ex 1, yeah kinda, it's a classic If it's Deus Ex : I never asked for this golden ophtalmologist edition. Well this one (in my opinion...), you can wrap it more, a good 2kg of cellophane around it 1

KoolHndLuke Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Half- Life. Keep meaning to buy and play it and just never do. Really enjoyed the Fable series as well, but will never see a remake since Lionhead is gone. 1
Guest Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 I made it a personal rule the play through Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 before starting on Witcher 3 because I knew I'd never want to go back. I got Witcher 1 way back in 2010 but then Skyrim was gifted to me the same week and well.. the rest is history. I actually made a point of grinding out Witcher 1 a year ago. I cranked the difficulty down to easy just so I could enjoy the story and breeze through the combat like a god :P. Yea some things are quite dated but the story is great, the voice actors did a really good job and I'm really glad I played it. I also really liked how loading a save file in Witcher 2 actually made quite a few differences, they did a really good job with the continuity in that one. I was actually disappointed at how much they neglected that part importing a Witcher 2 game into Witcher 3.

I will be happy to play it with a newer engine (it should be Unreal 5 if I am not mistaken.) You should, the game itself is nothing short of amazing. The very worst part of it, is getting through Chapter 1. You're gonna do a lot of running in circles, also some serious QOL mods are needed too, one to reduce monsters in Chapter 4, and one that adds all formulae to the game. FCR(Full Combat Rebalance) is a huge QOL mod, making the simple clickfest more important, potions at all levels are also a requirement with FCR. Making the game far more unforgiving. The best mod that doesn't change the core gameplay is Deus Ex: Revision, which ups all of the graphics and fixes some of the bugs dealing with hitboxes. 1

One of the worst things was having NO way at ALL to deal with bosses other than combat, something that could seriously screw over builds that leaned heavily into hacking or other noncombat aspects. Noncombat builds were quite viable and actually extremely effective in the OG Deus Ex by comparison. I also really disliked the ending. It reminded me a lot of Mass Effect 3's ending, 3 different colored endings with little difference and none of your choices before it matter.
Mr. Otaku Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 (edited) After Cyberscam 2077 i'm not sure how much stock i'd put on that company, they have made a comeback so maybe they can pull it together for the next game who knows. Never cared about the witcher games or played any of them though, always seemed like a eurojank action adventure based on some eastern european novel blown way out of proportion. A friend gifted me the trilogy around july this year, i don't wanna tell him that he gave me a gift i don't give a shit about and i don't wanna remove them cause both would be disrespectful so they're just sitting in my steam library doing nothing lol. I heard they fixed that with the director's cut, i'm not sure how and definitely not gonna find out 1 hour ago, sila said: It reminded me a lot of Mass Effect 3's ending I still have to play ME serie. 1 been sitting in my Steam for ages... not too fond of space settings 1 hour ago, Mr. Otaku said: A friend gifted me the trilogy around july this year, i don't wanna tell him that he gave me a gift i don't give a shit about and i don't wanna remove them cause both would be disrespectful so they're just sitting in my steam library doing nothing lol. Celedhring Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 (edited) I've played all three Witcher games. Witcher 1...well I got the European version because the U.S. version was censored. Gameplay sucked although the story was great. The Witcher 2 was okay...but I hated those QTE scenes. I could have done without that crap. THe Witcher 3 was and is outstanding. I played it for hours and hours..some of the quests were actually pretty hilarious like dressing up as sorceresses and using their magical equipment to hit on the other sorceresses while drunk at Kaer Morhan and The Dead Man's Party which was a hoot too. (It's the one where you let a cursed man's brother's ghost take control of Geralt...) Heck the entire von Everec questline was excellent. THe dialogue with Dijkstra was pretty much a "wit off" contest between Geralt and him - seeing as to who could land the most snappiest one liners with LOTS of sarcasm involved. XD Toss up between Yennefer and Triss but I went with Triss. I always thought Olgierd von Everec looked remarkably like David Beckham. And Dandelion resembled of all people....Henry Cavill. RIght down to the five o clock shadow. Seriously he does. I think they stole his look in "The Tudors" for Dandelion. Edited November 20, 2022 by Celedhring 1

DrDunhill Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Honestly can't wait. I recently replayed Witcher 1 and while graphics and everything else are trash, it's generally a really fun game.
