Job Offers For Modders

          Hellow LL players and modders . I hope life finds you well and happy .

Today i wanted to Start a project or rather Start the ball rolling on something never before done . I want to employ modders to create a Unofficial DLC for mass effect andromeda .

I choose this game because it offers audio ranging wide enough to create near any dialog and is something common enough to work with without being too hard .

 

-The project : creating a DLC that offers settlement growth and gradual changes almost like fallout 4 but automated and up to a certain point .

opening the rest of the planets to exploration  or at the least a continant sized chunk .

opening up romance choices to include non main crew characters and making it more in depth meaning repeatable romance scenes  and romance events like cheating and the such 

housing for ryder on a planet that is settled . addition of older tech outfits and the like found in other mass effects as well as the races .

 

-For this project to get off the ground i need a list of modders that are able to do this and as soon as that is aquired i can start a funding page once the goal is reached the money can be divided and paid to the modders apon completion of each task and a single unofficial dlc can be posted .

- i want to create an easy way to get commissions done and cash to modders without having comment freeforalls and stressing both players and modders out .

 

- if any modders are wanting to do this comment your page  i will check this post in a month and collect the names . From then i will make the go fund with the name list and once the goal is met  i will message each to start and give you the exact equal divided portion owed apon compleation

I've never played mass effect andromeda so I don't know if I'm off the mark here but I think for a custom DLC to succeed you have to ask yourself some questions...

 

a) Why did people buy the game in the first place....combat, romance, storyline, exploration, etc (or maybe a combination of all). But I'm guessing combat would be the priority choice here.

 

b) Mwaahhh I'll be succinct, or I'll end up waffling (it's my bedtime n my teddy is beckoning).

 

Combat...

Have settlements on each planet (tower defence like), could have your crew manning each planet/sector etc.

Scavenge resources/tech from fallen foes

 

Relationship...

Lovers get bonuses based on their type i.e klingons get more strength, vulcans get more intelligence (to repair etc) and you get ..erm a hard on?!

Do you really expect anyone with more than 3 brain cells to fall for this nonsense? If you want to set up a gofundme scam, by all means do it, but assuming you are simply deluded, rather than malicious, let me ask you this:
Why would anyone willing and capable of doing a project like this entrust the managing and funding to a rando like you, who has ZERO capabilities of contributing anything.
Modders generally do Projects like these out of passion. Beyond skyrim doesn't have any money bagging links on their site....
And even if they feel the need to raise money, they would propably choose a slightly less scammy method than fucking goFundMe.

I think you're jumping into the deep end too quickly. If you're going to manage a project you should have at least a basic knowledge of the work everyone is going to be doing. And I don't think donors or modders will be too tempted to contribute to a project like this because there's nothing that really indicates it's going to work like an experienced project manager, a team with a good track record, a prototype, or some starting cash from yourself. Donations are like a snowball. No one wants to make a snowball and try to get it rolling downhill, but they do want to help make it bigger once they see that it's already rolling and getting bigger.

 

My advice would be to learn more about what you want to create, try to create a prototype, and work with modders to help you. Since >99% of modders work for free, they're typically very willing to give you advice and instructions. What you could do release a very bare-bones proof-of-concept sort of mod and then work with volunteers, and if you still solicit donations, you could contract people to do stuff that's too hard for your team to do themselves. It's work, but if you're not going to put in either work or money, no one else is going to contribute either.
