Benmc20 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 My FF is rock stable, no memory leaks at all. Maybe because i don't use some crappy addons ? And Chrome which send all your brownsing data to GFoogle ... Well not for me sorry.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 The only reason I have Chrome installed is for the one or two pages that don't play well with Firefox. And sadly Mega is one of them, and has for the last few days. Chrome can suck my cock otherwise.

And Chrome which send all your brownsing data to GFoogle ... Well not for me sorry. I have vanilla Firefox. Granted I haven't used it in awhile, mainly because of the aforementioned memory leaks, including occasionally locking up every time it finishes downloading a software update. Also, Firefox sends your browsing data to Mozilla foundation for "fixes for future versions", so yeah. Your argument on both counts is invalid
D_ManXX2 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Also, Firefox sends your browsing data to Mozilla foundation for "fixes for future versions", so yeah. Your argument on both counts is invalid This is not accurate, you can still opt out of it when you open your option screen. There are many options you can customize firefox with. It is Google chrome i do not trust. <-- spyware. Google chrome has installed hidden updates that even when you chose the option do not update automatically it will still keep updating in the background and no way of telling what else it could be doing behind your back.
LordJerle Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 You can opt out of the google statistics program if you want. Go to settings, advanced options, under privacy, you'll see "Automatically send usage statistics and crash reports to Google" and "Send a ‘Do Not Track’ request with your browsing traffic" Uncheck the usage statistics, and check the Do Not Track one, and you not only don't have your browsing habits sent to Google, your browser also automatically removes tracking cookies Edit: Every one of your concerns about privacy in Chrome is invalid. Google even has a nifty easy to read tutorial on how to disable every tracking system in the browser. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/114836?hl=en I've had a lot less problems with Chrome in the two years I've used it than I had with Firefox in a one month period. The only time I ever get any memory lag is when I have multiple C&C:TA windows open, and that's like 3-4 windows at once, while running the browser addons for it, and it's barely noticeable. I run vanilla firefox, and it trips balls every time there's a software update for it. I don't even wanna try mega's scripts in firefox.
D_ManXX2 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 That is actually a mask. This is Google your talking about they will still send your data to prism. But that is the part your not seeing. Since they masked it well enough. Try using a program called CCleaner and you will see how many junk is hidden by Google Chrome. Will make your heads spin.

Since they masked it well enough. Oh, I see, I'm talking to a conspiracy nut. I hate to tell you, but Google is the least of your worries, if that's what your problem is. Most major US ISP's volunteer the information to the CIA WITHOUT a court order. There's leaked documented proof, so, you know what? If you're worried about Google sending in just your Chrome habits, how bout your ISP sending in ALL of your surfing habits? IM's, time spent playing LoL, what torrents you download, everything you do on the internet. EDIT: A little research shows me that Google has only ever sent information when required to by court order, while the top 5 US ISP's gave PRISM unrestricted backdoor access to their servers. I have CC, actually. Only ever found tracking cookies for ad services.
Jerbsinator Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Firefox used to be great and I still say they are good but Chrome is a lot more stable. I used Firefox forever but it started crashing a lot and was slow and it just pissed me off so I changed and I never went back. I find Chrome and Firefox to be really similar anyway, most of the addons are almost identical. The only thing that pisses me the fuck off about Chrome is Flash doesn't work half the time on Youtube. Videos just stop working randomly and it is incredibly annoying. And I don't mean buffering issues I mean they just stop working and display an error and no matter how many times you refresh they won't play. However this issue has been a lot less prevalent lately (it was awful about a month ago).

Never had that issue o.O You weren't trying to stream floppy tit porn and listen to music at the same time, were you?

Lagoon0654 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I just use mediafire or googlesites. So far if I don't have any sexual terms in the file names, they seem to stay uploaded(mediafire) Though if I get back on my feet I'll just pay for web hosting then use that.
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 If the problem is cookies - can't the cookies just be dumped afterwards?
Eiries Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Firefox user, never had a problem. Browser's always been set to clear cookies and history upon closing.
