AzOutback Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 You can pre-load the game now. The contents of the data folder. Too bad everything is still encrypted. And an Update.esm
daedrasp Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 PLZ extract BSA files. We want know it use NIF formats.
Guest Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Oh dear god, Skyrim requires steam?! Damnit! I hate steam! I use it, but It is a total BITCH to me, I've been trying to mod out New Vegas and Steam is a total asshole about it!

[/quote'] Sorry to hear this Halo, I have heard horror stories from other also but I have not had a glitch from day one modding FNV. Perhaps it is because I installed steam to my D drive which is dedicated only for games.
AzOutback Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 PLZ extract BSA files. We want know it use NIF formats. Everything is encrypted until it's 'unlocked' tomorrow. Even the text files and ini's But they've already confirmed they are still using the .nif format. We still use the nif file format' date=' because it worked fine for what we're doing and our modders know it well.[/quote'] In this article here http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/115/1158651p1.html

Are you sure the problem is Steam and not your security settings in Windows?
Mashi Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 PLZ extract BSA files. We want know it use NIF formats. It uses nifs according to the flappy heads at bethsoft. If I get a chance tomorrow before I play I'll try to pull some stuff up.
Khadir Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 And an Update.esm You know how the default Steam patcher loves to download replacement game files wholesale instead of comparing the contents and only downloading the changes? Well, my guess is that this is Bethesda's way of avoiding 100MB+ patches: They'll never change Skyrim.esm, only Update.esm.
Mailamea Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Azoutback: how much it cost in preorder on steam, im thinking of shipping pre order in data blitz, but i remembered there is steam
gregathit Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Azoutback: how much it cost in preorder on steam' date=' im thinking of shipping pre order in data blitz, but i remembered there is steam [/quote'] It is $59.99 in the US - not sure about EU or Far east pricing.
HanPL Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I think for now it's not even possible to order Skyrim steam version in Europe. It's day before release and there is 0 info about Skyrim and 0 products like "Skyrim " to buy I have to sit and hope that DPD courier will arrive today since tomorrow it's Polish Independence Day so free day...
me3 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 lucky u,amazon hasnt sent it till now , guess the weekend is without skyrim:@ so what , there r other things to do like funny woodcutting , happy cleaning , tasteful cooking , uagh ......
Tobbe27 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Don't buy it from steam, but it from direct2drive.com (or co.uk if you're from europe like me). It's a lot cheaper than Steam but you get the same deal, can preload it on Steam and all that.

Are you sure the problem is Steam and not your security settings in Windows? Confirmed most of the games I mod are steam versions, hell I had oblivion disk but got tired of installing it and all the patches, bought the steam GOTY edition and now every few weeks when I install 40+ extra mods to my stable game lol and it all goes oops I just delete and tell it to reinstall 70 odd mins later and I have a fresh instal to play with again.
pandabear Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I'm currently cleaning up in my hard drives. After that, I'm going to clean the registry and run a defrag. Then, I'll start the preload.

If you buy the D2D version, you may not be able to use mods that use the extended script handler. In the past D2D has refused to work with the ES group to allow OBSE/FOSE/NVSE to work, where steam has worked with them and included special code.

From what I understand D2D is selliing Steam codes, and it is still downloaded through Steam. I think it was the same for FNV too.
jacko Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 What! How do you install it? I got my boxed copy today. But when I try to install, it says I can't because the game is not released yet

jacko Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Tried adding the cd-key in steam? Yes, it says I can't because the game is not released yet. But I notice now that the game have been added to my game library, and I can Pre-load it. Annoying that I can't install it from the DVD.
AzOutback Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Congratulations Han! You got it before Independence Day in Poland! Do you have to wait to play?
HanPL Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Yep have to wait till 11.11.11 But at least have the game ^^
Mashi Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Yes' date=' it says I can't because the game is not released yet. [/quote']Gets released at 12pm EST, 9pm PST in North America. Or if you're really sneaky, you can use a foreign VPN and activate early. I'd rather salivate myself.
