No idea why it hangs up for some people, though heavy script loading has shown to sometimes have a negative effect on things.

I'm not well versed in common invisible npcs/undetectable npc glitches but I had set up a detect life spell that covers the whole grotto and it only showed the captives (no npc that I missed). In any case, there's a work around now. Thanks!
AttilaMagyar Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 I'm running into a new issue here, after getting the first captive released from her restraints, subsequent captives that I find aren't wearing their restraints . Thus preventing any freeing conversation messages. I'm using AE and 98F and both patches.

Don't have a direct solution, but a console workaround is to select the Actor in question and use: "EquipItem XX0596EA 1"
RomulusAugustulus Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 For some time the objective to talk to an innkeeper hasn't appeared in my journal but I could ask them anyways and I was sent to different holds and the stewards would give me locations. So, it didn't work as intended but it worked. Now I was sent to Reachcliff and upon getting close, the journal updated and told me to care for one captive (Lette). I cleaned out the outside camp (no wisps this time!) and freed Lette. As I was giving her some equipment, suddenly another captive dropped out of nowhere just beside Lette and my journal updated to "ask an innkeeper" AND to find 4 (!) more captives in Reachcliff. The one that had just materialized and three more inside the ruins. Since I had asked Lette for some fun time and it didn't happed (she just walked away), I did reload a save where I just approached her (bandits dead, Lette bound). I freed her again and nothing strange happened this time. Just some equipment, some fun time and she is on her way now. It seems the main quest is in some weird state.

Most of the clothes I have tried to put on either have no color, are completely invisible, deform the body shape of the character, or even crash the game. I don't see anywhere in bodyslide where they can be built properly. Using SSE and CBBE body if that matters. Edited May 15, 2022 by serranna

That could only happen in a case where the Bandit Boss was inside like that and you rendered the Captive before dealing with the Boss. The game engine was looking for another valid site, but that one was still valid because of the presence of the boss. This is a fringe case, but a tweak to the code should make it impossible. That's why it's a WIP. Nah, I'm not trying to use it that way. I always do some testing with new mods before I get too into it. I can only assume that the clothing in the mod will be used by some of the NPCs it places, so I figured I'd just have a look at them. When I tried to equip one of them, dont remember which one, my game instantly shut down. Dont want that happening mid playthrough. If you uninstall this mod and try reloading a save that depends on it, the save gets corrupted and wont load, which is not an uncommon thing with many mods. Thats why I tend to do some testing before I get too far into it. I'll try reinstalling it later with UUNP and see if it makes a difference.

The patches are cumulative so the most up to date would be v0.98f + patch2 + patch3 in that order. Currently finishing up the reactivation of the suggested destinations module and that will roll everything together in the next version, v0.98g. 3

(I like setting them free and running into them later) I just got her to the point she can work alone in a city. Why did you put the "Hey skeever brain!" shout on her?!?! Damn. That's annoying. Works quite well so far. She IS one very very busy worker.

There are 91 total, so you're probably pretty much done unless the script is just cycling trying to grab an additional Captive from the list where there isn't one, but already has a couple in the queue. Will have to go look at that code again since reaching the end of the line was only a theory when it was written.

Non-repeatable crashes are devilishly difficult to troubleshoot, but glad to hear things responded for you as designed.

I am thinking that the problem never was fixed but because I use the mod random sex maybe that other time was a sex scene started with random sex between my character and the captive while I was waiting for the SBC scene to start. Since you said that is a first captive problem I will try to test with the next captive to see if works.

The first captive theory was disproved; it was a case of a new game in testing where SexLab hadn't been initiated yet. Your 2nd Captive probably won't work either.

That's actually an Easter egg; even if she talked to you she'd tell you they don't have the proper scent, and the Quest may not correctly circle back to reset everything for another try. Recommend reloading and attempting via another source.
