WeKSTeR Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Game crashed after I hit an npc with a sword. Fresh save crash-2022-03-12-05-05-05.log
worik Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 That is an SE crash log. You are here in the LE tech support. But worry not. I already asked a moderator to move your question to the correct section.
donttouchmethere Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 That's what you get for hurting random NPC!
anjenthedog Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 That happens sometimes. No idea why. My reply *may be a red herring, but for me, it often accompanies a stagger event, either one I've caused or one done to me, so I've taken to suspecting something happening during a stagger event...sound, light, script overrun or bottlenecking... idk.... but there is some sort of pattern to the crashes, and battle stagger is one symptom I see all too often when it happens. I've taken to "moving on" when I encounter them, and chocking it up to a "<insert progress-loss suitable string of curse words> glitch" Admittedly, on rare occasions, one can find a "real" cause. For instance, at one time about ~a year ago, many were experiencing crashes due to some glitch introduced by the "Frozen Electric Combustion" mod, (or something like that. I can never remember the names of mods I never used but read a lot about), that was causing CTDs whenever lightning-family spells were cast (although I can't say exactly which ones). Personally, I experienced similar problems to those that they'd outlined for that mod above, but for me it, turned out to be one of my weather mods. Hopefully yours will be "that simple", someone will say so and what the solution is, and once resolved you'll have perfect play with no future occurrences. It sure helped me when I dumped the weather mod. Not completely but mostly. And obviously, if every time you hit an NPC, the game crashes, there'd be something heavy going on, so I'm not trying to discount your concern. Just suggesting that (based on my personal experience and the pots of others over the past 2-3 years) it's *likely/more-often-than-not just a one off glitch you'll see again intermittently along the way Best wishes
