Help: FNIS not including mods? (fixed)

(Edit) TL;DR, make sure to create an skse.ini, and when you do, make sure windows doesn't make you save it as skse.ini.txt.

I'm not great with computers, but I've been modding TES games for about a decade and I'm completely lost here. Nothing I can think to try does anything, and I can't find any info on this particular problem, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to get Skyrim LE working on a new computer, with MO2, Windows 10, and I keep having problems with it. I'm getting apparently random CTDs, sometimes when loading, or when looting, or entering a new area, and I'm hoping that's connected to a more specific problem: no sex animations even though I have them installed, and enabled in the MCM. When a sex scene starts, the two characters just stand in the same spot. The sex noises play, but no animation. It's happened to my character with an NPC, and to two NPCs. When I press the [ key to realign actors, they both start doing what I believe is an SLHH animation, but they're both doing the same position like this:

I've tried selecting a bunch of different animations to play, the same thing happens. When I tried the mage rape animation, they stand a few feet apart as they would be in that animation when he should be doing a darth vader style force choke type thing, but still both doing the animation pictured above. When I run FNIS, the results look like this:

No matter how many animation mods I install and activate, the last line is the same; "327 animations for 2 mods..." If I press the consistence check, I get this message:

I've tried reinstalling Zaz Resources, and Zaz animation pack just in case they're connected, but it's always the same. "7 possible consistence issues," all from ZazResources, and the specific files it lists are nowhere to be found, not even in the freshly downloaded .rar files. I had a much more complicated set of mods on my old PC which had half the RAM and no video card, and my FPS wasn't great but I never had this problem, or half as many CTDs. I tried googling, watching tutorials from the FNIS page and reading everything there, and I'm at the point where my next step is to completely uninstall mod organizer and maybe the game too, and start from scratch. I'll try to include as much relevant info as possible below, let me know if I'm missing anything that might help.

Load order through LOOT. Some of this doesn't look right to me but I'm not sure, I've tried moving things around and it hasn't helped:

The first FNIS output extract is telling you that you have:

3251 animations for 12 mods successfully included (character)  <------ This is 'character' animations (= humanoid) and these are provided by 12 mods.

327 animations for 2 mods and 18 creatures successfully included   <------------ This is 'creature' animations (=animals and creatures) and these are provided by 2 mods.

By what criteria does it not look right to you? On what basis did you move things around?

CTDs at random places generally points to an incorrectly configured Skyrim which is having memory allocation problems.

You need to make sure MO2 is properly set up and that you know how to spot and deal with any problems it reports.

If you are going to post FNIS output then post the entire thing not just a couple of lines which you think are important but but don't actually help a jot.

That makes sense, I tried installing More Nasty Critters and the animals and creatures section went up as it should. There goes that theory, which is one step closer to figuring it out.

I thought FNIS should load before animations, but that's not how LOOT sets it. There's other things loading after their requirements, which I thought was backwards but I guess it's a little more complicated than that.

I'm fairly sure I have it properly installed, and it isn't reporting any problems. I've been fighting this in my free time (which is basically all of my time right now) for a couple weeks without much progress so I've tried to check all my installations carefully. Not installing things in special systems folders, making sure everything has the right paths set, reinstalling everything that could be relevant. Everything seems fine until either it crashes, or a sex scene happens and the animations don't play.

I've looked at these guides, I'll give them a more thorough read instead of just looking for anything about this problem.

I just noticed I didn't properly attach a papyrus log to my first post, so I'll edit that in and post it here:Papyrus.1.log

I'm getting a lot of errors and warnings that aren't really clear to me, looks like it's missing some files from mods I don't have. I thought stripping down my mod list from what I had on my old computer might help, but I might have caused myself some problems there.

And here's a complete FNIS result, in case that helps. No errors or warnings, the only thing that stands out to me is the notes about outdated behaviour files, but that seems fine I think?

Thanks for the reply, it was helpful.

EDIT: Animations seem to be working now, I fiddled with some MCM settings in a few mods and disabled 'dynamic animation replacer' and a couple animations worked. Not sure if I'll still get CTDs.

I don't use MO2 so I don't know what the score is with using LOOT and/or MO2's own sort function. My general rule is to trust LOOT (or whatever you use) unless you have an obvious reason not to.

In FNIS your skeleton should read 126 bones. The rule is that XPMSE overwrites everything unless you use MNC. MNC overwrites everything unless you use Animated Beast Cocks. In which case ABC overwrites everything.

Try getting rid of Zaz and Zaz Resources and install ZAP+ v8.0 (or whatever the latest version of ZAP+ is)

EDITED to change ZAZ to ZAP

That's the one I meant. Just realised that 'pack' doesn't begin with a 'z'. ? English language, him number one tricky fella. ?

I did not even know there was a ZAZ on Nexus. Something learned today.

So I have the wrong number of bones? Just looked it up and my xpmse isn't up to date, I updated and now there's 126 bones and 0 consistence issues. Updated Zaz too, still getting tonnes of CTDs. Got through a whole dungeon without one problem, the one where you kill potema, then whenever I went anywhere near the solitude docks it would crash. Avoided that, did some shopping with just one crash the first time I went into solitude, then whenever I tried to fast travel away it would crash, usually after travelling as soon as I tried to move, save, or pause. Took a couple hours off, and when I tried it again it seemed fine for a while until I went into a falmer dungeon where it crashed a few times but I could still play a bit if I remembered to quick save. At least the new computer has an SSD so I can get the game running in no time.

The guides linked are giving me some good information, I'm gonna try to spend tomorrow doing more reading instead of tampering with things I don't understand. I didn't have an skse.ini, so making that might've helped. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd be happy to try whatever. Reposting load order since I updated those mods, I think the only difference is that I switched off a mod that adds a follower but something else could have gotten switched around.

Which mod requires these?

Fair enough. I don't use CBBE so I can't recommend an alternative but bounce and jiggle has moved on from needing 3 havoc physics esps. None is more common these days.

Hm, this one hasn't been updated in 3 years. I might try to find a more recent one, see if that helps... Or maybe I'll try installing all of this one's requirements first, since I seem to be missing the hdt physics extension. *facepalm*

Not like I thought I was good at this, but damn. I suck.

At least now you know you suck. ? Progress!

@Psalam and @worik both use CBBE, I think. Perhaps one of them might shed some light on the bounce n jiggle issue.

Well I installed the prereq hdt physics mod and the skse ini, did a few dungeons without crashes, then had a bunch of CTDs trying to walk to winterhold. And then this guy dies (screenshot below) and does a standing animation while lying down. Could not loot him, it was very rude. I have no idea what could cause that but I've seen it before.

Okay, now I think it's fixed, and I'm mad at windows. When I created the skse.ini, it saved it as skse.ini.txt, and when I figured this out it wouldn't let me change the file type. I had to copy and paste another .ini file into the folder, copy the contents of skse.ini.txt into the other .ini, and rename it to just skse. I get stopping people from screwing things up by accidentally removing the file extension, but not letting me create an .ini is just rude.

Displaying file extensions is Windows folders setting.

If you have skse.ini.txt then just delete the .txt part.

Windows doesn't stop you from changing file extensions, it merely warns you of possible problems if you choose to.

I don't know, it wasn't letting me change it. When I clicked rename it just showed "skse.ini" but under properties it was "skse.ini.txt." Must be a setting somewhere I should change.

Anyway, I figured out how to work around it, so problem solved. Thanks for the help!

(Edit: found the 'hide extensions for known file types' setting and turned that off, so I shouldn't have this problem again)
