How many in here are hyped for the Royal Court dlc coming? Do any of the main modders in here see potensial with this royal court? Will we be able to see sex scenes in our royal courts? From the videos we have seen it sure looks awesome. But I am pretty sure Paradox have tried to hardcode stuff and make it harder for modders to add sex to the royal court. Do we got people in here with modding skills acking to start on the royal court?

Royal court will be a game changer imho. Hope they don't hardcode stuff.

Not sure about Paradox hard coding things, but even if they do not go out of their way Royal Court will still throw CK moders for a loop I think. Its a whole new skillset to go to full 3D models in a 3D space unlike the windows that have been common to now. Cautiously hopeful on my end, but I think mods will be slow to exploit Royal Court once it comes out.

I havent heard anything about hardcoding. But has that not been like the norm for many of the big developers. To prevent modders abusing their game to for example adult mods? I am pretty sure you wizards in here manage to make something interesting anyway.

My only hope is that the content you create is not causing bad performance and so forth. Because some of the mods already made is cool but after a while playing CK3 your computer has like 10 FPS. So my guess is that the mods/models are far from optimized. :P

Well Paradox usually does not hardcode almost anything, and if they do the guys at the forums scream at them enough for the devs to do something, a example is the homosexual weddings.

I do wish for the adult modding community to do another "court" room but instead a bedroom, where you can see in a 3d scene the action, maybe even with some orther cultures or something of the like you can have an orgy room to access.

Thats an interesting idea about the alternate room. I imagine there will be a number of items created from the community that make no sense to display in your royal courtroom. A secondary room for your "private collection" seems very on brand, and could make sense for a bedroom, sex dungeon, or haram for cultures with concubines.

Imagine being able to see the "royal gardens" upgrade from ck2, that one was pretty much your personal fuck-forest, you could do anything you wanted and it gave a nice +15%(+10%?) fertility, I genuinely can't wait, mildly unrelated but I also want to see a proper duel mod in an arena.

The more I think about it a harem mod with full 3D room would be great. All the consorts sandboxing in the room, with the ability to decorate and upgrade. Consorts would be nude obviously and you could display lewd artifacts and erotic art without it feeling out of place.

There are now some previews in Gamestar and IGN, and I am not amused with this DLC. Events which does not interest me, e.g. that somebody doesn't like to tutor the children anymore or nailing a dead rabbit on the wall without any context (I think they wanted to make a reference to Monty Python). Events in court should be more engaging, for example to get the rabbit, you get the option to send your knights to fight the rabbit only to be instant killed if their prowess are too low, or use the holy grenade which the pope gifted to you ages ago. But no, the implementation of the story is that a random courtier just asks money for it. This DLC will most likely very underwhelming.

I just hope mods can give this DLC a bit more life.

I take the view that this is a System DLC not a Story DLC. The amount of content in the release will probably be less than we would hope, but that is because the system it is introducing is brand new. Patches from then on as well as other DLC will be able to flush it out, and if it id mod friendly the community will do what it has always done and make exponentially more content then Paradox would ever be able to. Cautiously optimistic and hoping that this community can do what it has always excelled at; lewdify the crap out of a perfectly banal videogame.

The main thing I'm personally waiting for is to see if they make good on their words to make things like same-sex marriage/coupling less hard-coded. The biggest modding turn-offs with CK3, for me, are the absolutely draconic limitations that prevent changing a character's sex and how arbitrarily offspring generation is handled(both are completely malleable in CK2).

I'm largely indifferent about the actual court system(modding it just seems like a high investment for a small return), but the new culture system should be quite promising for modding potential.

I have read somewhere that I was a mistake on paradox. They wanted to write a test and did not check if it broke sth (or did not find it sooner before release of a major patch). On the other hand I find the community back lash quite welcome, since I believe that the studio is using its customers as beta testers...

I am concerned about the update breaking 90% of  playlist mods, who knows how long it will take to update them to functionality, future of some mods like CBO are a mystery since the author is away.
