Hurniak Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Hello! I'm using way too many animations to use FNIS. Normal FNIS works perfectly, but FNIS XXL throws the following error: Skeleton(hkx) female: XPMS2HDT (126 bones) male: XPMS2HDT (126 bones) Patch: "SKELETON Arm Fix" ERROR(5): No encontrado My pc is set to spanish. That means "Not Found". What does this mean? I have reinstalled fnis multiple times, made sure the created files are in an empty mod, everything, but the moment i press generate it just throws that error. What's going on?
donttouchmethere Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Maybe this one helps: check also the last comment about language.
Hurniak Posted November 16, 2021 Author Posted November 16, 2021 I already had the UTF-8 option turned off. I haven't seen this error anywhere else on the internet except for one person on reddit who didn't fix it. This is definitley fnis xxl being dumb, because normal fnis works (until it says i have too many animations). Are there any known, fixable issues with fnis xxl i should know about?
donttouchmethere Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I could imagine things like this could have a negative effect: User control windows: Skyrim and mod manager installed in C:/program files try to run as FNIS as admin your virus scanner blocks FNIS leftovers of your last FNIS install reinstall FNIS XXL and start it from your mod manager (after downloading it again, just reinstalling the same file with the same outcome won't solve anything) make sure you have the correct FNIS version for your Skyrim version you are using MO and FNIS install isn't correct you are using MO and you have leftovers in overwrite from your last install? are you starting FNIS from your mod manager or from skyrim/data (from data only works with NMM without complications) you don't have FNIS and FNIS XXL installed at the same time? (just deactivating the FNIS esp won't be enough) 3 hours ago, Hurniak said: Are there any known, fixable issues with fnis xxl i should know about? Usually it's just user error. I use FNIS XXL for LE since it came out and not once had issues with it (but I use NMM ^^) Just make sure you have the newest version installed. I guess from what you write you are using MO, maybe a MO specialist can help out here.

(just deactivating the FNIS esp won't be enough) They're installed on the desktop. Should i move them somewhere else? Where? I have to run FNIS from within MO. Running MO as an administrator doesn't fix it. My AV is disabled. Where could there be leftovers? I've deleted any files in the overwrite folder and in the output mod, and have deleted the fnis folder. That's what i did. I'm downloading the skyrim LE fnis xxl 7.6 version for skyrim LE. The FNIS if correctly installed, i think. Again, i deleted the leftovers. I've had errors with the leftovers before, but they didn't say "Not found" I'm starting it from mod manager (you have to, with MO) I only have fnis xxl installed.

You should not install anything to your desktop. 4 hours ago, Hurniak said: I have to run FNIS from within MO. This is correct but make sure you have installed and set it up correctly. 4 hours ago, Hurniak said: I'm downloading the skyrim LE fnis xxl 7.6 version for skyrim LE. This is pointless. Either you have FNIS installed correctly or you don't. Which version is installed correctly or incorrectly is irrelevant.
Hurniak Posted November 16, 2021 Author Posted November 16, 2021 22 minutes ago, Grey Cloud said: What is 'installed on the desktop'? You should not install anything to your desktop. "installed on the desktop" means it's under c:/users/name/desktop. The actual mod files are in an appdata folder i didn't create, though. I'll change the install location, i guess, and see if that works. 25 minutes ago, Grey Cloud said: This is correct but make sure you have installed and set it up correctly. I think i do. I have generatefnisforusers as the file to run, and have checked "create files in mod" and specified an empty mod. Is there anything else i have to do?

Sorry, I meant what programs are installed on the desktop. You shouldn't install any programs to your desktop whether they are Skyrim related or not. 2 hours ago, Hurniak said: I think i do. Which is why I said you should make sure. I don't use MO so I can't offer any direct advice but my first step in solving problems is to double-check what I have done.

That's even worse than in c:\program files Desktop folders are reserved for naked elves!

Normal FNIS works perfectly, but if i set up FNIS XXL in the same exact way as FNIS, it gives me Error(5): Not Found. I have moved the entire game and mod manager to a new hard drive partition. I have reinstalled FNIS XXL once again, and yeah, still getting the error. It can't find the patch..? Why is FNIS XXL unable of accessing it's own files but the normal FNIS can? 17 hours ago, donttouchmethere said: That's even worse than in c:\program files And i thought it was so convenient, lol. Well it's fixed now but it wasn't the issue unfortunately

donttouchmethere Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 I don't know the exact procedure how to tell MO that FNIS is installed. But could it be that you need to tell MO that a different FNIS version is installed now in one of it's menus? Maybe it's still searching for the old FNIS version? Basically means you just repeat all the necessary steps you need to do as if FNIS never was installed and repeat that for FNIS XXL.
Grey Cloud Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 43 minutes ago, Hurniak said: Because i have too many animations. That is easily solved. Use this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/100672 45 minutes ago, Hurniak said: Patch: "SKELETON Arm Fix" That is the patch working correctly. In other words, if you have the box ticked then you get that message.

Normal FNIS will straight up refuse to work if you have too many animations, spitting this error and stopping: ERROR(2026): Too many animations 323 (..\..\meshes\actors\character\animations\MoreNastyCritters\FNIS_MoreNastyCritters_List.txt): + MNChorkerSLDvaginal_A1_S2 I am noticing, however, that FNIS XXL shows the following when i try to update FNIS behavior: Skyrim 32bit: ??.??.?? - C:\Users\PC\Desktop\... This is not where Skyrim is installed now. I moved it and the directory it points to doesn't exist. I have uninstalled and completely deleted the FNIS XXL files multiple times so i have no idea where it's storing this. Does FNIS create a registry or a file in appdata or something? I doubt this is the problem, since it was happening when that directory was correct too, but maybe it'll help me fix it. 54 minutes ago, Grey Cloud said: That is the patch working correctly. In other words, if you have the box ticked then you get that message. Alright, it's just that the fact that it spits "Error 5" immediately after that tells me it's failing to either find or access that file.

Normal FNIS will straight up refuse to work if you have too many animations, spitting this error and stopping: Animation Limit Crash Fix works without problems and has done since it was released. If you do have too many character animations, with or without ALCF, then your game would not start - it would CTD on loading. 10 hours ago, Hurniak said: Skyrim 32bit: ??.??.?? - C:\Users\PC\Desktop\... Until you work out what you are doing wrong you will not get rid of the problem. I don't use MO but as far as I know it installs things under your MO profile so that would be a good place to look for FNIS files.
donttouchmethere Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 I found this one: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5399700-fnis-error5/ but you might not like it. Let's hope it's just an UAC or MO problem and not maleware or similar.
donttouchmethere Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 or if it's an MO issue: https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/13615-fnis-and-mod-organizer-2-error-5/ Just google FNIS error 5 for more solutions.

mircislav Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 You can not move manually any application because uncle Gates invented idiotic registry which is by default "house of nightmares". By moving the game manually you messed your registry and no, you can not move it back again where it was (you can, but with no effect) - in other words, when you drop the shit in the toilet, you can't put them back in yous ass.... From my experience, only solution is uninstalling the game and everything you moved manually, restart the computer and install again. And always run FNIS from MO - the first time you start FNIS, it will generate files in overwrite folder (MO will tell you that you have files there) - you have to right-click on the overwrite folder and choose "make mod", after that just activate the mod... next time when you start FNIS, it will generate new files in created mod folder - and never manually delete the previously generated files from that folder.

Hurniak Posted November 19, 2021 Author Posted November 19, 2021 12 hours ago, Grey Cloud said: I am not wrong. If you have more character animations than your game can handle then it will crash on loading. This is tautological. Yeah, if you have more animations than your game can handle, then it crashes, because the definition of "how many animations can your game handle" is "how many animations can you have before it crashes". FNIS XXL lets the game handle more animations. You don't have to explain to me that only i know what i've done and that only i know how to fix it. I don't expect anyone to magically repair the issue remotely. Just wanted any indication on what to do, which i now have. I'll try uninstalling the game and MO and installing them again, but i probably won't bother for quite a while. 12 hours ago, Grey Cloud said: Do you have any files in your MO overwrite/override folder? Yes, but they're unrelated to FNIS (Because i manually deleted the ones that were related to FNIS).
Andy14 Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 22 minutes ago, Hurniak said: FNIS XXL lets the game handle more animations. This is nonsense. FNIS has a limit set by Fore (author) to make sure the game works. Note: The limit is in FNIS. FNIS XXL does not have this limit. It does NOT increase the number of animations Skyrim can handle. And if files are deleted manually, then the master.hkx is one of them. Because all other files are only a means to an end. The result is the master.hkx, which is used in Skyrim for behaviors.
