New Version of Skyrim SE?

I just tried to start my game back up after eating dinner, and was greeted with an error screen from Silverlock informing me that my version of Skyrim was too new for the version of SKSE that I'm using (2.0.20).  I'm told that I need to wait for them to create a new version of SKSE to play my game, again.

Since I see no posts about this on this board, I'm wondering if I'm experiencing some kind of bug causing SKSE to misidentify my game's version; or, was the game updated on me without my knowledge or permission?

Could anyone please inform me?

Thx for the reply.

The meal wasn't so long-- but the call from my brother extended it.

I saw that note on the Silverlock page, but was confused because-- to my knowledge-- I don't have the AE.

What is Bethesda doing?  Is my SE going to become an AE?  I don't get the newsletter.  ?

Yeah.. No Posts about this on the board.. expect for one or two every day since AE launched..

I didn't buy an AE, and had no interest in adopting any further mutations of the game.

Moreover, if people's games suddenly stopped dead, I'd expect not to be the only one curious about it.

Noone of us wanted that.. Yeah to put it simple it's a patch that makes SE into AE without consent of it's user. We are ranting about it since we got the news sometime before the shit got launched.

Only way to prevent it after you manage to roll back to the earlier version is to keep the updates off and if you can, start steam in offline modus to be sure. Until mods get updated that is.. If the ones who need to be updated even get an update. This whole AE thing is a big pile of shit but hey, at least we can go fishing..

How do you roll it back to the earlier version?  When I try to use the experimental AE version of SKSE, I just get another error message:

REL/Relocation.h(617): failed to open file

I don't fish.  ?

I can't make sense of LL's instructions for installing Sexlab on LE, anymore, now that the instructions for installing to SE are essentially intermingled with them; that's why I just switched to SE.  Now, I can't use SE, anymore, either!

If Bethesda's Hell-bent on ruining Skyrim for modders who don't use their proprietary paid mods, I guess I'll just have to delete everything and make another attempt at installing LL's FONV mods.  As I recall, though, that was an extremely difficult installation I abandoned once, already.  ?

No no, first get youself the former skse version (i think, cause i don't had to roll back.)

Then get yourself this one here

I make no promises but it seems to work.

If not there is always the option of looking for the backdoor trick of steam, how to do it you have to look for yourself tho, can't remember in which thread it got posted (but it has to be one of the AE Threads.. There are a few..)

Thx.  I'm in the middle of trying that.

Sooo... I'm staying offline on Steam from here on out?

==============================================================

The mod works; but, if I need to log back onto Steam to d/l one of my other games, will the mod continue working even after Bethesda screws around more with the code?  Or, will there be another patch if that happens?

I really need to get a Paypal-- if I could just straight use a credit card, I'd already have donated to that mod author.  He deserves a medal.

This update auto-initialized as soon as Steam is started, seemingly regardless of one's individual game update preferences. All that can be done is to catch it before space is even reserved for the download then take it out of the queue.

Supposedly when SKSE64 is updated you still won't be able to use any of the mods that use SKSE64, until those mods are updated as well...

That means you need to do a roll back.

It's a shame you presumably were not on the forums in the month leading up, because people posted warnings and explanation of what files you need to back up (those are the ones you now need to restore).

This has been posted a lot. It will tell you what's happened and what files you were supposed to back up. Now you will have to get hold of those files from someone/somewhere I guess and use them to roll back your game to the previous version, then reinstall SKSE64.

What is it about SE users?

1. This is the LE section not SE or now AE section.

2. I use LE and have not been near it since June yet I have known for a couple of weeks that SKSE was going to get messed up once this pointless new version of Skyrim released.
