Robotsvana Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Last night,i downloaded a SE version and many inserts, while when i try to use SKSE to play this version,it told me I need Steam to run the game, then i suddenly realised that,if i don't run the game through SKSE,my inserts maybe usefulless, but but i don't have Steam account, because i'm in china, although i have no characters mods in meanwhile. But most important thing is,if i use Se.exe or launcher, not via SKSE in MO,can i use those functions still?
Sgt. Marge Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Quote SKSE will support the latest version of Skyrim available on Steam, and only this version (currently 1.9.32 with any other numbers following). If there is a work around I am unaware of it.

If I understand this correctly then you don't own a legitimate copy of the game. That's a problem since there are some mods that won't work (not all of them...). And also talking about pirated games is not something you want to do here.

Well,it's de facto legal, but just not get the game from steam. But i actually don't know,it's the core of the problem
Just Don't Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 I don't know enough of that de facto legal but not Steam, I guess it has something to do with a digital store/release exclusive to China? Look, if the only problem is MO tells you it needs Steam, read the options again. If as you say it's a legitimate copy of the game, I see no issue picking the second option here (but some programs may fail to run properly...).

It looks simple, but hard to me,maybe i just need to sign in Steam, and run the game like you, then everything will be ok?The most thing i care is those inserts,i don't care they are english or chinese, but i can't found a folder to place my character mods, can l know, where do you place person mods?
Just Don't Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 I install all my mods with MO2. I don't have your issue with Steam because I have the game on Steam. If your issue is Steam I already told you, you can try picking the second option. If you don't know how to install mods, I wrote a full guide on that topic for MO in particular. You're free to take a look at it or find some videos explaining the basics.

I initially bought game from walmart on disc(States). Didn't do anything though, begrudgingly had to install steam. Kinda weird steam wanted code I got with purchase, never seemed to even have any use for the disc, but I got one.
Grey Cloud Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 Same here. I bought it on disc only to discover that I hadn't actually bought a game, just a piece of plastic to get me connected to Steam.
