Bad Dog Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Anybody seen this? I'm blocked after killing Kellogg. I killed him then left the facility without talking to Valentine. Now K is dead with nothing in his inventory but the quest marker over his body. Quest message says I should talk to V, but V doesn't have any special dialog, whether or not he's a follower. I've tried moving the quest stage along through the console and completing the whole quest. But either one doesn't start the next quest or open up new options.
MrFuturehope Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Do you have any mods that intercept or change the main quest in any way? There are some popular mods like Depravity that give you some alternative ways of playing the game, maybe it's one of those mods that are problematic. It's been a while since I played through that part of the game, but the last time I played it vanilla style, it went all smoothly. I guess it must be some mod preventing you from getting further.

Wait, wasn't there something like a dialog with Valentine where he asks you if there was something on his body that could be useful in getting further, I believe you had to tell Valentine Kellog was a half human, half machine after which Valentine asks you to go check out his body again and retrieve the synth chip or whatever that thing was called at which point, I'm pretty sure the player (in case you already picked it up) can tell Valentine that you already have it (assuming you have that item in your inventory at that time) and the quest should continue normally.
Bad Dog Posted July 5, 2021 Author Posted July 5, 2021 Yeah, it's the "go look at his body" dialog I'm not getting so I can't tell V I have it already. I did loot the dingus already, and can't let it go because it's a quest item. I'll try resetting inventory and if that doesn't work reanimating him. (Actually, I think maybe I did that one and it didn't work. But I'll try it again.)
Bad Dog Posted July 7, 2021 Author Posted July 7, 2021 Yeah, looted the body and read the terminal but didn't talk to Valentine. I unwedged the quest line tho by updating the quest to stage 2000, which is the final one. That closed out the quest and started the next.
