Two main ways:

First off, in Steam Settings, set updates to 'only update on game launch'. Launching the game through F4SE doesn't count as a game launch!


As you can see, it'll sit there like that.

Second way is to open the SteamApps folder on the drive where FO4 is installed, and find the correct .acf file for your game. The appID for Fallout 4 is seen when you go to the store page for the game in Steam:

Find that file and set it to ReadOnly:

 

This will cause all updates to Fallout 4 to fail (until you uninstall and reinstall the game).

If it's true what is said above and you only need Fallout4.exe and the launcher, here they are:

Since you cannot run the game with these files alone, it's not piracy.

That's the same one from the porn studio, and yes, it's already fixed for the next update.

Thank fuck somebody screwed themselves with the update and you all explained how to prevent that. Cause my day would have been rather vocal otherwise! Last time that happened a neighbour called to ask if everything was ok? I wander if they can hear my porn as well?

 

Sorry but not to those who got the update from steam. After one of those you are looking at best a week of fixes at worse months of compromise

This is honestly the only worthwhile update from Bethesda since old-gen, you now can load 1K of BA2 archives (1K main/1K texture).

I upgraded to version 1.10.163. It took me a while to get everything right. And that was with the help of you guys here. But now I can say that the game works very well for me and almost without any problems. I definitely don't regret it. Thanks to that, updates don't bother me anymore.

It's baked into the Fallout4.exe, basically it's a fixed sized array.  So it's only available with the latest executable.

Yeah it will probably happen now.  It's weird because you can have 4096 light plugins + 254 regular plugins.  I think you can only have 1 main + 1 texture per plugin, I'd have to look at the logic there.  I know the base game as multiple numbered texture archives, but that is specified via INI settings.  So you would think it should be at least 4350 + another 32 for base game to be safe.

 

But honestly 1K archives should be plenty.  The other thing is why not just dynamically allocate it, it's not like it can't peek ahead and figure out how many archive slots it needs and then dynamically allocate that memory.  Archives don't magically get added at runtime, just at startup.

 

They must have gotten a crap ton of complaints after adding 150 CC archives with AE (those who paid the extra $20 for that content).

One add a line to Mother commenting on the fact that Norita drinks without a cup. Hinting at the fact that her actions are being affected by her post war habits only applicable to survival playthroughs.

There's a patch/fix for that, seen it a couple days ago.... somewhere. 😵‍💫

Made me laugh that someone was dumb enough to dl all of them then complain about it messing things up. Almost said they needed to dl the 145 CC bug fixes and then it'd work fine. 🤣

Yeah, Addictol can change the archive limit to 64K, but there is also I think a CC Packer that combines the BA2's which is what people typically have done.

I went through this too. I was completely out of the loop about this update; I went to download a new mod version and ended up running into this unexpected update. I was really dumb and had forgotten that I had disabled the update lock option. But thanks to this guy here, our problems were solved:

Belive it or not. a guy put the download depot on the Adress libbary. which i use for some other mods like immproved Animated backpacks for one example.
