 I understand that AAF version 1.7.2.2 was released a couple of days ago, and that's fixed.

The next option was to tear apart the install and load mod by mod to find the issue just to play NR as it works with full modlist and normal questing....

 

OK, yeah it might have done nothing then.  This was the problem I had, it was far more intermittent for me than your facing, and any time I tried to tweak something and restart, everything was fine.  It was typically that same leveled list NPC that you had in your crash log (DLC04, whatnot).

 

But your not alone, it's been reported on the Addictol mod page and I haven't seen any solution yet.  There is a new patch (unreleased/untested build here) in Addictol that perchik71 added to handle when BSStringPool has a garbage entry, which I believe is the case here.

The issue is definitely around Nuka World DLC which this mod is heavy based so not surprised its causing havoc.  It's kind of proving that game version 163 is still king of stability vs game version 191 and I would assume 221 is even worse.

I have no doubt that these updates were carried out by different teams with vastly different levels of commitment and a stunted understanding of storytelling. They've butchered the intro. It was perfect: leaving the vault, hearing the player's breaths, your vision blurred from seeing the sun after so long, the wasteland slowly clearing before your eyes with that desolate music, and having a single objective: to return home.

 

Now? You leave the vault. Go home but also make sure to Kill Pyro. Yeah, no context, even after you kill him. Also pet this dog on the other side of the map too. Kill Freeze but spare his two best friends, Paul and Randy too. Say hello to Old Ron sitting in this top-secret location. Steal this pistol, steal this super secret new rifle. And those new, unbalanced weapons? I hate how lazy are these fuckers.

Yeah, absolutely and OG had 4 years for modders to stabilize their patches to the game.  The only problem now is some modders are in the OG-only or AE-only camp, and then you have many supporting all 3 runtimes in a single F4SE plugin but only testing one or the other really.

Well the good news is if your using the AE content on OG runtime none of those quests start up on new game.  The only one you start with is Out of time, a nice/welcome improvement especially for your mods (I hate the quest log clutter).  Now you just get the delayed start with no context, the worst of it is the ones where they delay start talking about finding a signal and the signal doesn't trigger anything at all and you wander around hoping for something happen.  The Van Graff CC is like that, I have to Google every time to find out where I need to be to find the signal.

 

I am glad they figured out rolling an AE upgrade with 150 CC's that it's a bad idea to start them all on new game, too bad they failed to understand that they just screwed everyone's BA2 limits.

Addictol doesn't work for me on version 1.10.63. The game launches and immediately crashes.

Yeah you probably have mods that are on their incompatible list, that's the usual cause.  You have to uninstall all of these mods:

 

X-Cell [Superseded by Addictol]

There may be others that have overlapping mods they are not aware of, but they did a pretty decent job of calling out the incompatibilities.  A lot of people forget they dropped Buffout4 in the game folder, so you have to look out for that if you have done that.  I also removed xSE PluginPreloader F4, since it no longer does anything with Addictol.

 

I haven't had any real problems with Addictol, but your YMMV and attention to detail may differ.  Sometimes I swear I am blind.

well good and bad news - that patch did not help sadly.   Previous adjustments to Addictol suggested also did not help.

good news: I have a save right before talking to OB (during the 2nd apartment quest with Larsen after Ryder Coup) that is a hard crash early on in the conversation 100% of the time.

so have a test bed for modlist adjustments to hopefully find the culprit.

 

bad news is there is no way I can continue playing NR until a solution is discovered or I downgrade game back to 163....

Do you think those CTDs are because my facegen is made with my own texture collection and not the ones offered here? Cause I cand give this one a try.

possible, I use 2k everything and if there are 1k mixed in that could cause an issue with facegen.   I am not skilled in that area but mismatches usually only cause brown face not hard crashes.   And the fact this is specific to Addictol and the Nuka World DLC along with this mods changes.   I will continue to mess with mod list after work tonight to see if anything changes.

I noticed a page or two back (sleep for an hour or two and there is like 100 new posts to read, how do you do it JB?) some pictures, what made me happy was that I am not the only one who has missing eyebrows, and I can only assume make-up effects and the like don't show as well. I have no idea why this happens, Sophie's eyebrows are missing as well, as are some other NPC's, I fiddled with Rusty Face, Black Face and another Black Face fix. Pretty sure I have all three now in my load. Has anyone worked out a fix? It is a very small detail one I barely notice anymore I have had it for so long.

im new to updating this, I read the instruction, just want to be sure

 

so I need replaced all NR mods with 6.9 number in them,  that have new versions of 7.0  (and keep all other NR patch mods installed or better replace the new optional files with the old.. or they are the same, unless they got a 7.0 written on them?)

thank you for making such god-level mods / content... looking so forward to this (but will be taking it slowly.. , Kinda "rushed" too fast thru Nora and Norita, .. need to saviour them more, by doing some base game content with them inbetween a bit.., gawd this NR Patchs hype more more than any new Fallout Game annoncments from Bethedsa or Bioware atm..

Install my "Nuka Ride Texture for the girls" texture pack from the Optional folder, see if that helps.

Check out "Nuka Ride 7.01  FaceGenData TESTING" in the Optional Folders.
