AAF Nuka Ride: A Porn Studio Mod

Posted (edited)

I have another interesting effect (not a bug but user settings that got changed when upgrading), which I believe was caused by my resent mod overhaul to game version 191 (roughly 10-12 mods were changed to use this game version) and I think my camera settings have altered from my game version 163 play through of this mod like 6 months ago.   New game (Norita) and pretty early on still, just did the 1st round of chores at the Dunmore farm where you clean the leaves and run the mower.   Every scene forced the player into 1st person until the scene was over then once you could move again reverted back to 3rd person.   I am almost done with the Hubologist quest part and I am pretty sure the scene were the camera circles around the farm will fail as well.   What settings should I check to get this reverted back to what works with this mod (or turned off if something should not be active) in the camera settings.

Also curious if anyone has a clue why the lip sync got out of wack, have never seen that before.

edit: things that I can say were changed to versions that work with 191 specifically

MCM (version 1.43)

High Heels (version 1.9.2)

AAF (version 1.5.5 from 1.1.2)

XDI (version 1.4.3)

3rd Person Behavior Fix (1.4)

Screen Archer Menu

added mods from game version 163

Addictol replaced Buffout 4

Hydra replaced something - forget what it was

Community Fixes Merged (did not work with 163)

ShadowBoostFO4

OCBP LPCE which replaced the two mods that got physics and collision spheres to work (this one does both correctly)

@Mimirue17 Just remember that for the first few parts of Norita, I didn't know how to make lip files. Technically, I did know how, but the program I was using made them like that. Then, when Norita had to go to Diamond City and rescue the Mayor, that's when I found another method.

If it helps, I use Custom Camera (And you don't need "Barber and Surgery Camera Fix")

did you download the 1.7.2 version (released 2 days ago I think?)? fixed an equipment bug that was present in the original release for game version 221.

I have 1.7.1.  I'm well past the scene in question now, but I'll go grab 1.7.2 if its a new release - thanks for the heads up.  I haven't had any other issues with AAF scene triggers since.

Got a new problem though.  I'm in Dolled Up, the Norita version.  I gather its the same quest for Nora but with different stage IDs?

Anyhow, I talk to the Overboss (_nukaride_doll 100), and the next stage is 130, pointing to Sophie.  I talk to her, have the conversation with the other four ladies.  And then everything freezes.  Controls aren't disabled, but the UI is.  It eventually recovers, I assume something or other times out.  I can start the convo with Sophie over again, but that's it, I'm stuck.  If I had to guess, I would GUESS that stage 150 is next?  Like Doc Crock is supposed to walk in?  He doesn't.  But that's just a guess on my part, there are so many quest stages that have been skipped for scenarios that I'm guess were closed off by other choices?  I dunno, this one is harder to read than the other quests from this mod.

If your having to do a lot of set stage's, then something is wrong with your mod list (i.e. load order/mod conflicts).  I run with a profile that has the required/recommended mods, and only a few extras, and really haven't had any issues.  You would want to avoid mods that affect Nuka World, Diamond City, etc, otherwise you need to resolve the plugin conflicts.

Uh-huh.  Okay, cool.  Anyhow, if you or anyone else could give me some indication of what should be happening next, that'd be great, and I can ruin my own game from there.

Hi, great mod.

I have a problem now. When Sophia and PC have to punish that guy in the appartment, dressed as cops- well when it comes to the end after the cross the game ctds.

I tried Sophia alone, only the PC or both and all have the same results.

Btw a common thing i guess? I mean i understand there have to be some railings to get the story on but punishing the wrong answer with ctd seems a bit harsh :D

So how do i get on with the story? Is there a way to skip this?

thanks

If you have a CTD log, you can upload it to an AI to try and troubleshoot the problem. If you still can't figure it out, you can upload it to the forum and I'll take a look, but I can't promise anything.

If it helps, any mod that modifies the combat AI could be causing the issue, since technically, Sophie will be using a weapon  (a whip) to attack an NPC, and this weapon has zero damage for obvious reasons.

Oh, it's a version of AAF that has that same problem. Update to the new version; there's one available now.

I'm testing it, and it's working fine now. It has a minor bug where you get equipped the wrong outfit after a scene, but otherwise, it's good.

ok figured I would share this as it fixed a crash I had that nothing else would fix

Game Version 191

Using Addictol vs Buffout (required by a few mods when updating to this game version)

Was crashing everytime when meeting Nisha for 1st time - right after first dialogue choice popped up.

was getting this in the crash log     BSFaceGenNiNodeSkinned

changed this setting in Addictol to false - fixed the crash and speed up game load time significantly

# Enables facegen support and removes freezes.
bFacegen = false

Probably will affect those on game version 221 as well as those same mods will still require Addictol and Hydra

weird question but do you know why the audition outfit and black thong doesnt load it instead deloads the entire body leaving only the head and hands

Your missing the bodyslide files, it should be on the download site.  When equipping clothing that shows the body parts as invisible it means the meshes (3d models) are missing, in this case those come with the bodyslide files, which you can use to generate the clothing shaped to your body preset.

If you use ocbp/ocbpc and mtm for physics

Switch to this: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/105699

If that doesn't work then the armor clothing mods you stated have an issue

Make sure you have all of NukaRide's requirements installed and run bodyslide to generate the meshes

Those are the only two issues I'm aware of.

well it would seem the game version 191, at least the way I have it set up has issues with the facegen.   If I try to turn it back on I get random crashes throughout NukaTown.   If I leave it off I get Black faces or brown faces on a few select NPC - Katelyn (brown), A few raiders (black) (most are fine), Maddox (black) and the girl you talk to get groceries (brown).  Everyone else I did not have any visual effects with.   Kind of weird as I have played on this outside of this mod and never seen anything like this.   (pretty sure all those npc's above are part of the Nuka World DLC so might be something specific with that.

Edit: the crash was in 2 specific places, below the arches near Cappy  café and inside Nisha's base so far if that helps at all.

in the downloads at the very bottom is a download for "LoversLab Facegen Pack", you don't need FaceGen to use it.

It has facegens for NukaRide, Slavers and a few other mods from LL

Should take care of your Brown face issues

Above that are some FaceGen Packs for various mods, maybe they will take care of the rest. If you have those mods.

They will add to your load time however . . .

this and removing the abitprettier nuka raiders and the NR patch fixed almost all of issues, only Katelyn and Shelbie have brown faces - no black ones and no crashes (have facegen turned off in Addictol, guess that will be a thing while playing this mod)

I use Addictiol w/ facegen, no issues with it, only Facegen patch I am using is the one JB provides.  Brown/black face is also texture related, so it could be any of the overlays or skin textures for the face parts if they are mismatched.

The thing with X-Cell/Addictol to understand is:

Fallout 4 does not use Facegen at all for non-base game plugins (pretty much the game + DLCs + CC [and I believe this only up to what's delivered with NG, not sure about other downloadables from Creations]).

Essentially what X-Cell/Addictol does is force use of facegen for non-base game plugins, like Nuka Ride, because it helps performance on large loadouts with a lot of custom NPCs.  The reason I mention this is maybe take a look and see what the base NPC form id start with, if it is <= 06 then it's probably a base game NPC using facegen regardless of what you do.  The other thing to know about facegen is it embeds in the generated mesh the texture paths, so if you have a mod that changes the materials (what textures to use) on an NPC that has facegen then you have to regenerate facegen or disable facegen.  My guess is it's probably a  texture issue, maybe a overlay pack that is 1k and skin that is 2k, or something along those lines.

Facegen is in the same category as Precombines, basically CK does the culling and merging of the disparate meshes to generate a single mesh, which is less work than having it done during runtime.

I am not using x-cell though from what you said I might need to.  I did almost every main quest in the game besides far harbor stuff with this setup and never once had a brown face.  I did not have a brown face in this run until I turned that setting off in addictol which I only did to solve the 2 crashes above (meeting Nisha caused hard crash everytime shorty after first dialogue option) and passing near the soon to be Golden Globes entrance area only after this part in the quest (I had gone through that same area multiple times already but it now crashes following Ryder to arcade).   Everything was fine facegen wise up to that 1st crash point....

edit:  I still have the save before the 1st crash I believe so will do some more digging into what is causing the issue in those 2 areas.   I know Katelyn was fine the 1st time you meet her at Cappy and later at the bar before meeting the BoS guys.   I trim down my load order already before ever starting NR but there may be something else that is wrong.

Addictol is X-Cell, just with more patches -- but maybe there is a bug there.  I have seen & experienced this crash before too, although not with Nisha.  On 191 I had it near the front entrance with Grandpa.  I personally suspect it's related to that weird hair stretching issue with KS Hairdo's (Commonwealth Cuts), but haven't been able to track it down and it's occassional.  The other crash I have seen is the combat bug with the Gatorclaws, Fuck You, and the crew -- don't really understand what's going on there I went through most of the records in Xedit it complained about and they are all unmodified.  But it's some weird interaction going on there.  Neither of these problems I have seen on OG.

I would check to see if it is the same NPC or related plugin in the crash logs.

Occasional crashing seems to be the norm with Bethesda games.  But generally it's stable as a rock, quests fire when they should, can play for hours and hours without any crashes, every once in a while some weird crap happens.

Just had one more question, I would like to replay this to see the norita story line, but the dialogue seems to take a long time, is this an unavoidable result of a script heavy mod, or is there a mod/utility that will speed it up to normal game speed? I like the mod but don’t generally have more than a few hours a week at most for games, so I’m not sure I’d be able to do it again woth the dialogue the way it is, either way I appreciate this mod and thank you for sharing it with us

I get the impression you didn't download the voice files. Did you play this mod without the voices? It's in the optional folder in MEGA/Drive.

With voice, you can skip dialogues. But for the most part, it's not necessary because it flows quite smoothly.

JB already mentioned the voice pack -- but also check if you have F4z Ro Doh in your load order, that should be a foundation mod in all of your profiles, it helps with unvoiced mods to speed up dialogue (but you should always get the voice packs if they are available for the mod - which isn't always the case).
