Emily Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 This may be odd and late to ask for age verification for loverslab users. But emily aware of the existense of under age player or under 17 Y.o kids among us. Â And it made emily feels bad to teachs them strange fetishes and spartan tea bagging.
windpl Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 We also should put "Only 18+ allowed to enter" signs on sex shops. Anyway there is disclaimer when you register is it?
Emily Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Disclaimer? Â Sorry.... Can't remember. Not sure if everyone read the disclaimer properly when they registered.
windpl Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 lol sorry FF auto correction. Â All is in term of use what you have to check before registering. It is sufficient if you ask me.
formel Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Yep by agreeing with the trems of use everyone signs also that she/he is 18 ot older. Â So if an underage person takes mental damge because she/he is confronted with "strange fetishes and spartan tea bagging" they are to blame and you can spread strange fetishes further with pure conscience. Besides some strange fetishes may suit them also well
Emily Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Term of use? Â Is it really sufficient? Â Kids are watching us yu no.
formel Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Now I see eyes lurking in the shadows  But when that is not sufficient nothing is sufficient on the internet and only way to prevent that it not gets in the hand of minors is not to post it on the internet in the first place. I see here the parents in responsibility to an eye on their childrens surf-behaivor, not anyone on this community which clearly stated that it is for 18+ only.
Astaroth-Lite Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Term of use? Â Is it really sufficient? Â Kids are watching us yu no. Â Those damn perverts.
Emily Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Well,Alright then.Actually been running an adult mod topic made emily have the dilemma concerning the content of monster girl. Now the presence of kids linger on it, alongside their immature fantasy and commentary. It's not cute when they got mixed into adult topic and discussing it at their whim.
AgentChicken Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I really would not be too picky with the whole "Must be 18+" thing for Lovers lab, when kids or teenagers see something that tells them "No" or "You are not allowed here" they usually annoy that warning anyway. But i do agree with having some kind of age verification but it would not stop people from changing their Date of birth to fit the 18+ requirement.
Lagoon0654 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Nothing can be done really. Most kids and teens will just lie about their age.
Rayblue Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I would like to use an age verification system similar to Leisure Suit Larry (you get quizzed on history).
Emily Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 I would like to use an age verification system similar to Leisure Suit Larry (you get quizzed on history). Â That'll be fun. XD
Ark of Truth Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I would like to use an age verification system similar to Leisure Suit Larry (you get quizzed on history). Â Yes, because Google won't have any of the answersÂ
Guest Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 This is the internet, anonymity is the name of the game and really there's not much that we can do to stop kiddies from entering adult sites. Some require guests to put in their credit card info in order to access the site but these seem like horrible nasty traps. And I'm certainly not desperate enough for pronz that I'd willingly reveal that sort of info just like that. And no I'm not suggesting that we use this sort of thing here at LL, that would be a terrible idea. Â Plus it's not really our responsibility to keep minors away. That responsibilty belongs to the parents who should either monitor what they do, place restrictions or simply sit and talk with them about what exists on the internet, the possible dangers of adult sites (not saying LL is "dangerous") and more. That's what my dad did to me when I was younger. He said he knew that I would get curious and start exploring adult content. He did so in a positive way. He Explained the danger of viruses and such and he never put a single restiction on my internet access. Now of course I did get a few viruses here and there when I really began to explore but I've learned. Â So all in all, while it might be desireable to keep minors out, there's really no feasible solution to do so.
Emily Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 The major fact is boys ages 12-17 are among the biggest consumers of pornography. What Emily tries to avoid is impairment of their psychosexual that will ultimately became their driving force to abnormal behavior in their life.  .... But then like formel said, it's parenting. But never forget there is always someone older who introduce them into it.
srayesmanll Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Show me a an age verification that actually works. Sure there are the "requires credit card" stuff, but does it actually verify the age? Or does just assume that if the user has a valid credit card, they are an "adult"? Is just a visual deterrent to keep the less-than-savvy minors off of their systems. Or is it (as I suspect) just a way for the site to cover it's ass (see, they used a credit to verify, so they must have been an adult). I have never been given a true explanation on how entering a credit card verifies someone's age (lots of conjecture on the internet but no facts). How about this - do we need to mail in a copy of our ID/Divers Licenses? Passports maybe? Hey, you got a copy of your Birth Certificate? Send that. There is no actual way to truly verify a person age by standard methods on the internet, and any extreme methods (such as mailing/faxing DLs) will only annoy legitimate users of the site and increase the cost of running the site (which would require Ashal to start charging, which would require a credit card, which could be used to "verify the age of the user", and the vortex of suck would grow...) As a way for LL to cover it's ass, I can see using a "age verification system", but as a legitimate "age check" - useless.
Emily Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Emily suppose there was parental porn blocker, but that's another story. Unless the parent aware of the software at all and it doesn't offend any adult website by using it.
Guest airdance Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 First, let me say Emily that I agree with you.  However, how do we explain the kids who grow up in loving protective families, not exposed to the evils of this world, who then become total degenerates?  Also, how do we explain the children who grow up in the most horrific circumstances, and yet lead perfectly normal adult lives often as pillars of their community?  Is there perhaps a gene that predisposes how kids will turn out and that nothing a parent does will make a difference? Â

Ark of Truth Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 This site goes of weather or not you are the legal age in the country YOU ARE FROM and not if it is acceptable from the point of where the server is hosted.  UK: You have be 18. South Korea:  19, in some cases 20. The Philippines is technically 12 years of age under law but I believe LoversLab in this case enforces the 18 years of age. US: 18  If you believe a user is under age go to that user's profile and report the user using the "Report this member" button in the lower right.  Â
Ashal Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Having to enter their birthdate will stop them dead in their tracks!  Wait why does it say everybody is born january 1st 1900?  But really it's pointless, impossible to enforce, and impossible to prove. A complete and utter waste of time.
Emily Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Well, guess it's all up to their parents parenting skill. Â .... Â Ashal, did emily ever mentioned that you and greg are awfully similar in comparison?
