I suspect I might have a different kind of problem. I haven't found any single piece of furniture that works correctly inside zbfTestZone, and the symptom doesn't change even when I disable Planck and Higg from the MO2.

I haven't yet tried a script solution, including fiddling with SetVehicle and/or PinActor. But I'm curious why it looks like I'm the only person who's having such an issue when my mod list is still pretty light. Anyway, thanks for the help. I'll keep digging for the cause.

I think/hope we're talking about the same issue but as I have a number of mods installed that may well be replacing/tweaking the furniture's from Zaz I guess I can't really say, but going back to the example from Public Whore vs Maria Eden using the same x-cross .. why does one position you far better than the other.. .. I hope you manage to find the answer..

I haven't actually tried any of the existing AI mods because my mod is going to be super focused on player slavery. The AI actor (the owner) should be able to do things like notice if I'm kneeling properly and punish me if I'm not.

The AI mods are pretty good at RP'ing that scenario .. As long as you find a suitable LLM with provides NSFW content (there's more than you'd think) and you can appropriately prompt the NPC as to their role in the game the results are pretty impressive.

I've just been playing with two followers, one RP'ing as the best Dom in Skyrim, and another as Slave Trainer of a prison which, whilst telling me what to do, started arguing with each other as to who was the best in controlling slaves and ended up with one of them enslaving the other.. Sometimes I'm quite speechless at what these AI mods can do and can only assume they're going to get better.

As it stands, with MinAI's additional mod it can already do things like demand you hand over all your possessions, know if you're picking things up through looting, equip restraints on

However, conscious I don't want to detract you from what your currently working on, it's sounds great and your SoT mod is still one of my favourites

Let me just say that I'm pretty familiar with RP'ing with SillyTavern / OpenRouter, and I can also have a RunPod account so I can run models they don't provide. 😉

I appreciate that you liked my previous mod, which I regret to have failed to finish. I think it's not that different from SoT that I feel inspired to create yet another AI mod.

When I started SoT, there were already many great—and probably better—slavery mods out there. But I decided to make my own because I wanted something that exactly matched my niche taste.

As for AI mods, I feel there's room for another mod that focuses on the slavery scenario and is more tightly integrated with relevant features. For example, if the existing mods could make a character take the role of a Dom and say "Lick my feet" to its sub, I want it to take an extra step to do a VR position & overlap check to see if the sub's head is close enough to its feet and reward or punish accordingly. Such specialised possibilities were what inspired me to start my own AI mod.

Anyway, I don't want to raise your expectations too high when I barely started working on this project. I'll make sure to update my blog whenever I achieve something interesting.

So there are some furnitures that seem to work great, other's not so.

Did anyone have a look at the furniture with NIFscope or some other tool? Maybe there is something about it, what could be altered to make them compatible. I'm too inexperienced to be able to tell myself.
If this were the case, we could just patch ZAZ...

In terms of the actual experience of being run like a slave, where the NPCs actually force you to do the things they want, and the overall atmosphere of the setting, I would actually argue that there was no better mod than SoT. Filled my niche precisely, too. So sad I couldn't get it to work properly. But I completely understand the abandoning, from my own painful experience :D

It looks like we share our niche taste, then. It's no wonder that you accurately described the main focus of my mod, which was to provide the feeling that the player is mere livestock instead of someone special like a Dragonborn. Of course, there's nothing wrong with more consensual variants of slavery fantasy. But I much prefer when the slave is despised and abused instead of getting teased or stimulated, for example, and that's the aspect I wanted to depict in my mod.

My upcoming mod's goal hasn't changed, either, whatever its theme will be. Thanks much for the kind words!

As for my problem, I'm still at a loss to figure it out, by the way. Now I know that it's not something related to ZaZ scripts since I was able to reproduce the symptom with its main quest mod turned off.

Yes, that is exactly what I am looking for, too. Same feelings about those other mods...
As for the furniture, like I asked earlier, has anyone looked into the actual models in NIFscope or some other tools? Compared the working ones with the non-working ones? Maybe there's a commonality which could be replicated to fix the models that don't work... Just a wild idea. My understanding of how the models are constructed is very limited.

I'm not sure if there's any working furniture. I've tried many different items in zbfTestZone but haven't found a single one that works as expected so far. Yesterday, I tested the branding machine from Branding Device of Doom (which was really nice in VR, by the way!) and encountered the exact same problem.

I suspect it could be something more universal, like Skyrim's VR settings, for example. I'm going to test tweaking them today.

I just got a wild idea. While this might not help with the positioning issue, I wonder if this could help with physics-based glitches... How about removing collision boxes, any and all collision mechanics, from the furniture, basically making it ethereal? Could this solve any conflicts with physics based mods? The PC/NPC, when mounted, is held in place through a pose, right? So we don't really need the furniture to be solid. A small price to pay, and if the navmesh is done well, NPC's will mostly avoid walking through it... This could be achieved by simply overwriting the base models of ZAZ etc. Could it be this easy?

I had a similar idea, so I already tested with the collision turned off (typing `tcl` from the console). Unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem.

It feels like something synchronises the position and rotation between my headset and the character besides VRIK (which I disabled for testing).

Darn. Thank you for the info.

May I request Player Death Animation!  It works in VR with the small caveat that you can't move during a death scene so it's hard to see what's actually happening.  I've been testing with bandits and after being defeated I find my corpse being auctioned off but whatever furniture I'm in is causing spinning.  I thought this was a ZAZ furniture, but I have your ZAZ patch that works for other mods so I don't think it is.  It might be a furniture in Pam's Deadly Furniture or maybe native to Player Death Animation.  In the end, I was spitroasted in one of Pam's Deadly Furnitures and that animation played fine, save that I couldn't really move to look around.

If it's furniture, unfortunately it's going to be bugged out even without the spin. There are some unresolved issues with collision mechanics in VR, or VRIK, more precisely, which seem to work differently from normal collisions (i.e. they happen even if the collision boxes on the furniture are completely remove, which 99% of the time results in the player being in the wrong position). We need someone capable to figure this out, as it's probably not an unfixable problem, but requires very advanced understanding of the engine.

It wouldn't be possible to simply get the character out of the player's control, I mean out of the body

I want this to work to, getting pama's mods to work in VR would be cool. however I am not a "capable" modder, yet. does anyone know anyone who could figure this out, or any info to help solve this issue?
