Quick note: the patch was not actually an exe file, but was a 390 byte "delta patch" for xdelta3 that modifies some bytes in the original exe. You can read more about it in the link from SamIAmHam.

 

I did have a short discussion with a paradox dev to see if I could host the patch elsewhere and link to it, but they weren't having that either. Some companies are fine with unofficial patches and or dll sideloaders (Bethesda games in particular see a lot of that), but Paradox does not appear to be one of them.

does this require a new start?

Note that the ck3.exe patch doesn't do anything by itself. It's only an enabler for other mods.

The marriage works for me. I haven't test consorts though. At first I was confused how to patch because the instruction that I found on discord was not clear for me. Unless I miss them somehow. Search Waffle's deleted post on PDX (see the cache via google). There was a clear instruction there.  So, in your case, maybe there is a problem in patching the game first because simply just place the patch doesn't work (based on my own experience). If that is not the case, sorry, I don't know.

I didn’t include anything on consorts actually. I’m intending to use the consort slot to enable surrogates and donors so that same sex couples can have their own children (I’m sure other people will use other means but this is the one that feels most realistic to me). But I probably won’t work on it until the patch comes out so that I can be sure that my effort won’t be wasted.

i have read that the devs of ck3 were working on fixing this same sex marriage option bug, but i havent gotten a concrete answer. with that said, im having trouble finding a working patch for the latest ck3 game, the previous patch seems to work for 1.3 only. can anyone shine some light on this? is this mod safe to use as is?
