Visual C++ Crash at Character Creation

I have no idea what is going wrong  all of a sudden.  My game had been working just fine, Started a new game and got to the first dragon kill at the tower and then i kept CTD when walking to absorb to soul.

Did a couple of mod update's

Outfitstudio
XP32
RaceCompatability
Tardis
FNIS

Now when i try to make a new chracter in LAL when ever i try to swap to female it will instantly crash and give Microsoft Visual C++ blah blah,  On ocasions it doesn't crash and can select female, But the face is black which i thought was meaning theres no VRAM left, And then just CTD back with Visual ++ error again

Have you tried to bring it back to the previous version of the Update?

Yeah, tried the previes profile where it wasnt updated but still does it.  i give up

*EDIT*

Looks like its something conflicting with SMP setup, With out SMP active i can atleast walk around LAL area, but soon as i try to leave it CTD.  When i reactiave SMP it CTD

If this can help you with SMP I also had memory problems, I uninstalled it, installed HDT-PE, problem solved.
The problems were the same as yours: CTD in racemenu, black faces

Having read somewhere that SMP requires a fair amount of memory, maybe you could do the same thing as me to see if it resolves

I had been using SMP for a long time and never had any issues untill i decided to fidle with things,  think by now id learn to leave it alone when it works.

I got plenty of memey for it, 32GB sytstem 22GB vram in DX9.  Dont think i could go back to playing skyrim without SMP tho

I have Windows 7 32 bit, but DX is 11. Doesn't it go updated? It still remains a trivial question, but it could still suggest a solution to the problem

Could it be a question of space?

Going by what afterbuner shows me on OSD,  When it does get working its only using 10gb of ram, and ENB i have set to use 8GB so there should be plenty left over for it.  DX12 is installed but usused D3D9.dll

*EDIT*

I have no clue why this was effecting it.  I swaped ENB preset's and problem seems resolved :| Which is a shame since it looked real nice.  Dont even know how ENB would effect SMP *shrug* Thanks for your help and pointers Lestat

You have 22GB in dedicated video ram........as in a separate GPU card(s) right?  Is that one or two video cards?  If are trying to count 22GB of system memory due to having a combo motherboard/video card then that is most likely what your problem is.  On board video cards don't give accurate readings for one and absolutely suck at games.  Hopefully I'm misunderstanding things.

Skyrim uses DirectX 9. You can't change that.

I used the ram size test from the ENB site, think i read it somewhere a while ago to use that number in the enblocal.ini to set the size for it.  Just a single GPU, 5700XT 8GB +16GB shared GPU and 32GB system ram.

All is working fine now i removed the ENB i was testing out, then decided to just leave it off all together cos 20-30FPS with enb vs 80+ with out it on is a huge increase

Sigh.  No, that is not how it works.  If you have an 8GB video card then that is all of the video memory you have.  Period.  There is no +16.  Even if there was (which there isn't) that 16 would come out of your 32GB of RAM.  And please tell me that the 32GB is actually RAM sticks and not some strange addition of hard drive space plus actual RAM.  If it is, that is not how things work either.  Games and mods require dedicated hardware.   You either meet the requirements or you do without.  When you can afford to upgrade, you do if you want to take it to the next level.

Bottom line, the reason you have having issues is you are trying to do too much with too little.  I'm not trying to be rude here, far from that.  I'm trying to help you understand why you are running up against problems with hardware so you can properly select what you can run and what you can't due to the system that you have.

Skyrim LE uses DX9. The OS and other programs may well use DX11 but LE uses DX9.

Best not to think. Best to check.

Users should download and run Boris's VRamSizeTest tool. Run the VRamSizeDX9.exe. Windows 7 users subtract 170 from the value provided and use that value. Windows 8/8.1 users use the value provided. Windows 10 users subtract 350 from the value provided and use that value.

If you aren't going to use an ENB preset at least use ENBoost otherwise you will be having lots of CTDS due to memory allocation or the lack thereof.

For what it's worth, if you have an 8GB GPU, 32GB of RAM and a CPU of similar standard then there is no reason you can't use a preset and get 60 fps.

Also you might want to check that you have the correct version of MS C++ for Skyrim.  Don't bother saying you have the latest version as that is not the one Skyrim needs.

This is the number i was using in my enb ini's all year when i built my new pc.  Had been working fine with out issues untill i tried a new enb prest

Yes lol, 4x8GB sticks not downloaded RAM.  At the time i built this 5700XT was best option, and only just now the next gen GPU's came out, but dont realy want to spend $3kAUD on a 3090,  Waiting for Big Navi prices tho

No worries.  Again, the point isn't to criticize your system, it is to point out the limitations of your hardware.  Now you can certainly try to push those limits, but you need to understand that things may not work right if you do.

The number looks correct (I'm guessing you run W7) but are you now saying that your problems began after installing a different ENB preset?
