Just Checking Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 Just hit the Go Offline option in your Origin settings there, it should do the job.

It should and looks like but it doesn't as far as I know. I adjust the Windows firewall with a netsh script to (un)block Origin and TS3, TS4 and other related programs.

If it doesn't say OFFLINE in the upper right corner of the Origin window, you're doing it wrong. There's no need to go mucking about under the hood with any of that... other stuff.

I agree that one shouldn't need to adjust the firewall but if one does, like me, the firewall log should contain absolutely no entries. Maybe they fixed it, likely they didn't to be able to roll out essential security fixes.
hogsmaws Posted September 5, 2020 Author Posted September 5, 2020 if i set origin to OFFLINE and then try to click the Sims4 game I get an Origin login popup to enter my login info and I can't get past that when offline.

Try this while loading Origin, I had to do this before and it worked. Put Origin in Offline Mode (click Origin and click on Go Offline or use Ctrl + Shift + W), you can tell that you are in offline mode if you see OFFLINE MODE on the top right in the window.
DarkAudit Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Origin *does* need to phone home at least once. Like if you have to reboot for some reason. Then you can set offline mode again. But that shouldn't be a problem because we all turned automatic updates off, right? Right?
B10HAZARD. Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Right. People still need to be reminded to turn auto updates off in a modded game!!! ?? It never gets old does it.

I don't understand why anyone would turn it on, especially a gamer who mods.

Oops19 Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Note to myself: Add 'disable auto-updates' to HH mod description. If every developer did this we could safe the world.
