you're welcome, if its the dx11 version might need to set it to windowed full screen to avoid the crash when using alt-tab or windows key. probably need to take the the d11.dll out of the bin folder to avoid the crash switch

Can't get the GUI connected. It won't load the library. Please help!

Which graphics API are you using? DirectX 9 or 11? You'll know in game at the title screen. Look at the bottom left corner. There will be some text that tells you what version of the game you're running and your current graphics API. It looks like this:

image.png.dcc26a7bfc1b3d794c3f07247083f362.png

You'll need to get the RTBP version that corresponds to the graphics API you're using. RTBP 11 for DirectX 11 and RTBP Legacy for DirectX 9. If you have the right DLL installed, "d3d9.dll" or "d3d11.dll", the game should pick it up. If you did everything right, you should see the RTBP logo in the upper left corner of the screen.

After that, the Commander should be able to connect and send commands to RTBP.

for me putting the dx11 .dll causes the game to crash on startup, no pop-up, the log is almost empty so I guess it does not even initialize

I tested if its a mod conflict by deleting all mods, but the crash persisted

any ideas guys?

//Edit I use EA app, maybe its somehow connected? On crash it opens up EA app on the Sims 4 main page

This is similiar to an error others were having earlier. Are you running the latest version or RTBP? If you are and you're still experiencing this error, try using the version built without the logo and GUI. That might work.

I've just tried it, still the same issue even with this version.

Well, that irritating. I guess try updating your graphics drivers. That or trying the DirectX 9 version of RTBP. With so little information in your log file, I don't even know where to start. It's literally failing in the first function. 😞

maybe you're right and maybe it really has to do with amd and their horrendous drivers. I use RX 7800XT GPU and I would not be surprised if it is somehow connected. If you have any idea where to look or what else I can provide I'd be willing to provide you every log I can ;d I'll try updating the drivers and edit this comment later to share the results

I have the same Issues it crashes from the start no error nothing just an erupt exit in ~ 5 seconds. I have a brand-new PC Intel Ultra 9 CPU 32gb ram Intel arc GPU 16gb shared vram. Windows 11 ts4  v1.120.117.1030  all updated; drivers and all. I have been following and tried all combinations and efforts i can think of as a retired programmer/engineer. Antivirus is standard win 11 issue and no other conflicting app or background processes i am aware of. I have Enjoy this mod since it first appeared had only 1 issue that was with DLS but had been resolved sideways via ts4 updates. So Thank you for that... 🙃

I would like to note the 5 seconds to crash is Mouse movement. while Ide before any mouse the program will sit fine... ( Logitech Options +)

Is anything written to the log file? Windows 11 seems to have some new security stuff built in so that by default, some foreign DLL's are not trusted and have to be explicitly unblocked for Windows to load them. I've been dealing with this issue on my sister-in-law's laptop, just trying to install vanilla Sims 4 for her. No error messages or anything, just an entry in the event viewer saying that TS4_x64.exe failed with error code 0x5 (ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED).

Try right clicking on the RTBP "d3d11.dll" file, going to "Properties", and clicking "Unblock" at the bottom right corner of the properties Window. That might do it. I'm still figuring out a lot of this stuff. I don't have a Windows 11 computer available for me to test things on. I'm thinking this feature has to be new to Windows 11. I don't recall having issues like this with Windows 10 or earlier.

Windows 10 is no longer supported by Microsoft that it ended Oct 2025 with extended security support for 1 year if you had requested. So umm, yea dude it will be time or past time for a new pc if not upgradable to Win 11.

nothing is too different about W10 to upgrade to W11 IF you aren't needing the new OS and still using the SAME graphics card , processor , memory , RAM etc. almost everyone is running W10 right now October wasnt too long ago. it should work fine, W11 has a few things that are different but nothing different to run SIMS 4 ..it wasnt created on W11 and the specs to play it are designed to run it with windows 10 in mind. so adjusting the settings to modify files for the mods to work in W11 must be done lol you can still run a good pc on W10 right now . all the previous updates are backwards compat. and many people who upgrade from the same pc have issues once they do , its best to stick with it for now

things to check:

did you make sure to follow the installation guide in the zip file ?

did you edit your graphicsrules file for the intel processor?

if you are not running intel don't edit this but do everything else

with amd i don't think you are , but if NOT  it might be you need to either undo your graphicsrules file set to true. save

your game version is bottom left corner when on the main start page. what is it ?

go in game settings and check if you are running graphics on DX9 or X11 ..you might be installing the wrong files / wrong version and its not creating a log file because the folders are in the wrong places..follow the installation file , its a README.txt in zip folder and try to run the game after again

Could you please add more fine-tuning options for breast movement? I've been using your mod for a long time and have never been able to adjust it perfectly. It all depends on the speed at which the Sim is moving; if they move slowly, everything is fine, but if they suddenly move up, down, or in any other direction, the breasts behave unnaturally. The same applies to angular physics; in some versions of your mod it's adjustable, while in others it's not. In the latest version, it's not adjustable. I would like to have the ability to precisely adjust everything.

I did unblock the file checked other security settings. I get it to work without a settings file. but as soon as I edit changes in the f11 GUI it will erupt exit. this is out of the box, and I haven't had time to play.. It would however be helpful if I can get a stable settings file of your recommendation...

Windows 7 and windows 10 were the best OS build Microsoft did. You are absolutely correct right now win 10 is the best choice for the end user.

What I mean is that I don't use Windows so I'm not up to date on how everything functions. I literally used Windows 11 for the first time just the other day trying to get vanilla Sims 4 running on my sister-in-law's computer. These new security features came as a surprise to me because I'm used to things just working out of the box without having to explicitly allow them. I guess I'll need to get a copy of Windows 11 and virtualize it so I can figure out how best to get RTBP to play well with Windows 11.

If your settings file doesn't exist it will be created with the default values which should be stable. Would you mind sharing your log file? It should be in "...\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\RTBP\Log.txt".

Sure, I'll look into that. Perhaps a way to limit the maximum amount of force applied to a simulation. A sudden movement can cause an extreme reaction, so being able to limit that could be useful. I've been meaning to more research into how jiggle physics are implemented in commercial games, so I should get around to doing that. Maybe I'll get some ideas. Anything I do add will be configurable, of course. As for angular physics, you should just ignore that for now. It's unstable and disabled by default. I haven't come up with anything that actually works well enough yet.

yes sure attached with a screenshot of the installed Dll's  and I got a chance to play with it removed mods uninstalled some apps. still the same the moment I use the mouse to shift the screen at all it will crash. even a slow scroll will crash it. I see it working in the game, but I can't touch it. No worries on my end. and Thank you... I still use the mod just not in DX11 it is my favorite mod kind of because of its nature above and beyond the thresholds. I mean I love it when programmers and Dev's push technology.

Okay so I did a number of runs with the default Settings file. Tested a few DX11 Dll's changed some setting for my graphics tested Defaults and Applications choice all that. Did a few screen shots.  the only thing I can add and confirmed is that with All DX11 Dll's and no matter what the setting, changing the Vertical Sync in TS4 Game Options is an instant game freeze only in DX11 mode and the dx11.dll. This is in the menu before even loading the game..

Hey @CPVC! Just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the hard work and finally getting DX11 support for this mod.

I'm able to run it just fine, but I am experiencing constant (and seemingly random) freezes such that I'm forced to Task Manager my way out of it. This is probably the biggest issue right now. The other stuff I noticed were things that you've already pointed out, like the butt sagging, etc. lol

I know this is all still a WIP so I just felt like I needed to report my findings. We're all waiting patiently to see this ready for primetime. Please keep up the good work! 👍
