Phelps1247 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Anyone have a suggestion for other textures that work well with the flat chest option? Anything I've tried has just looked really odd other than one that came with the monli but it's still not quite what I want. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/17576-what-mod-is-this-iv/?p=409447 The one there would do but I dunno what it is and not sure it's even allowed to be posted if someone does. (I'm using the body with a different race but I don't think that would matter in terms of posting it.)
skylab Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 My character is male nord. After I manual install children of the sky - R2, the character body reduce to slim and got big head(may be same size compare to small body). When I reinstall male body mod. My character body is change back to normal muscle man. So I suggest the installation order for anyone have the same problem with me. 1.children of the sky-R2. 2.the body mod of your choice(for example: Better male, UNP, CBBE, ADEC).
Spyder Arachnid Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I'm having a problem with this mod, i installed it tired of see the crap vanilla kids, not much interested on making a PC, the problem is that when i install this mod, all the race on creation menu are normal size but with the CoS textures/faces and then the CoS race are like half a vanilla kid ( a table its way taller than char ), as i said idc about the PC race, i jsut dont wanna hace the kid textures/face on my adults chars. Any idea what its causing this ( i use ECE , and no use Racemenu ) i tried with race menu and no ece aswell, same result ... any ideas guys ? Thanks. P.D. I have killable children, tried untick it on data files, no changes, i also use NMM. I had this exact same issue for the longest time with no answers, until someone finally told me what I needed to do to fix it. It's really simple actually. Make sure you are only using the xvisionchildren.esp if you just want the child replacer and not the playable race. Then go into this folder: Data\meshes\actors\character\Character Assets\ And you'll find a femalehead file in there. Delete it. CotS installs a head mesh that overwrites all the regular races with it's textures. Delete that head mesh and you'll get your normal faces back. Hi, I'm just a bit confused about what this mod does. I would like some info before installing it. Does the mod replace children with new models or rather it modifies all NPCs with children models? The prisoner meshes and textures included in the package actually replace the vanilla ones (which means all prisoners, adults included, will equip a child mesh?) P.S. I have no children mod installed at present (neither I use Hearthfires). A big "thank you" to anyone wishing to help. Well it's a two-part mod in a way. One .esp file gives you the playable race. A child-like playable race. The other .esp is for a children replacer. It replaces all the children in the game to use these assets. So instead of the vanilla children, your children will look like these ones. Like I stated above as well, if you just want something to replace the children and not the playable race, make sure to delete that femalehead file first or else it will overwrite all your regular races. You don't need the prisoner replacer really. I never use it and have had no issues. But yes, as far as I know, it will give your regular characters a "petite" body when you equip it cause it is designed for children, not adults. Thus why I don't use it. Hope that helps.
perriq Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I hope I'm not asking any questions that have been asked recently, I skimmed the last couple pages but didn't see anything. 1) Other than the included body textures, do any textures work with this body? I heard a rumor about it being compatible with UNP textures but wanted to check before installing anything. 2) Is there any way to get my character's hips to be a bit wider? I see the weight slider making her breasts and ass bigger, but the hips are just as slim. Bear in mind this is as minor a complaint as I can come up with, I absolutely love this mode.

Bear in mind this is as minor a complaint as I can come up with, I absolutely love this mode. 1) Other UNP textures seem to work with the x117 skeleton and body without a problem. They even work with the flat variant. 2) As far as hip width is concerned... I'm not sure. I could try to make a skeleton with wider hips, but I don't know if it would affect the body or not. I suspect not, from other experiments I've done with editing skeletons. You could possibly load up the body in 3ds and widen the hips manually, then copy the edited body into the x117 folder you're using. I would post the exact path for CotS, but right now I'm not using CotS but instead an edit to the YgNord race from ECE-CME that I made. If you're using CotS, then it's the body within the data/meshes/actors/character/(I think)oriental folder. Sorry, I don't really remember. If you want to use my YgNord edit, look for ECE-x117 in the non-adult mods section, and for that you would replace the body in data/meshes/actors/character/ygNord/ Either way, though, editing the body is the only way I see that would work.

ECE, face packs, all textures, but especially ECE, so i guess no CoS for me. Are there any other vanilla npc kids replacer ?

It is it's own file that you have to delete. You have to actually go in the Character Assets folder and remove it manually. It is basically a redirect file, that doesn't overwrite any existing files, just redirects the CotS textures to overwrite your normal textures. Once removed, your regular textures should show up. That's all I did, and it worked just fine. I don't use ECE, so not sure how it works with that.

Using the variant you mentioned right now. My wife and I like to build our D&D characters in Skyrim when we get bored, she has two on the younger side. Stock 117 is perfect for one of her characters, but the other is a bit developed for her age. The method you mentioned works perfectly for her!
NBIemand Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Is there any way to get rid of the hairstyles? I REALLY dislike them. To the point where vanilla just looks better. I dunno maybe I'm just weird...>.>'
rebeccamt Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Hello~! Love the Mod, but I need help! I have a Glitch! Almost all NPC with the race COTS have darker tinted faces then their bodies. I have tried resurrection, recycleactor, but no luck! I need help! Also, does anyone know how to have Bandits be COTS? I'd like to fight some of my own kind. You really should read a few posts back because the answer to one of your questions was the last topic being discussed here. Can you... HELP me by linking me to the thread, or quoting it instead of pointing down the street and saying "Somewhere down that-a-way"?

Time Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I downloaded the extra gear, and installed all the zips from inside the big zip; I think that's how you are supposed to do it. In the text file for each outfit it says: "can be crafted - or from help command" or something similar. My question is then: how can I use console commands to give myself the clothes? Thanks in advance for any answers.
MidbossVyers Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 What are the base skills for this race, or are they taken from a vanilla race? If so, which one?

Don't add the skeleton or extras, and don't let it overwrite the facegen data when asked. It WILL affect your current character, so you will have to go into showracemenu to make the head look correct...it will make sense when you see it. Still hoping to find a way to get the vanilla hair back, instead of the mod's hair, anyone?Delete the hair files that come with the mod. Vanilla assets are in the core game files, so all you need to do to get them back is delete the additional files you don't want to use.
MidbossVyers Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 How does this race handle places in the game that need racial recognition? I know for joining Stormcloaks, Galmar will call you by your race in most case, but use "foreigner" for Nords and Imperials, so that generic word can work for this, as well, but what about during the intro? The Captain can still call you an "renegade", but Hadvar would need to state your race and birthplace. Similarly, during the Dark Brotherhood quest line, Gianna also comments about your race.

When you say that you're trying to get rid of the hairstyles, do you mean on yourself or on other children? If it's on other children, then the short answer is that you really can't... xvision's children requires apachii hair to load at all, and CotS depends on the xvision mod, so... yeah. If you want different choices for yourself, then probably the best option is to install another hair mod, and use those hairs instead. Also install the racemenu precache killer, found at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33226//?

I was referring to the extra gear that was posted in the OP. None of that stuff comes up with a search for "loli." If you can point me at the pack you are describing that would be great. I have another broad question about children of the sky. At the moment I am the only one of the race! I have tried to change others into the race (using the id and the console), but it won't work. Is there any way to populate skyrim with more COTS NPCs? I would like followers or any interaction really. If anyone knows how to change others to COTS, or something I haven't thought about, that would help. Thanks for any answers.
hafertaler Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 try "help x117", if I remember correctly that's what was used in most of the names pre- or suffix. And there are at least three mods here in this forum: follower mods, a mod that changes nearly all female nps in the game into cots and a mod that randomly adds cots to bandits and forsworn enemy groups. One of the follower mods is even in the opening post of this thread, if you scroll down. Search for either cots or children of the sky in this forum and you will find the rest. I would have to do the same, so I guess you can do it too. I've never tried the "replace female npc" mod, but the rest I mentioned works just fine.

Is there any other way to replace at least the body and face, but not the hair? Yes, but not easily. What you need is two child bodies, one male, one female, that are all put together and not separated into hands, head, feet, and body. Place them at data/meshes/actors/children/femalechild.nif and data/meshes/actors/children/malechild.nif Those files contain the body and the face all put together, so simply placing them in the appropriate folder will do; the originals are compressed into the .bsa files. The reason that all children look identical is that they're all using these two files.
