Modding Help - Easiest/Laziest way to mod Skyrim?

Recommended Posts

I constantly see screenshots of Skyrim where the graphics look 10x better, or have a sort of anime filter or are even hyper-realistic. So i went to read a guide how to make my game look better than minecraft.

https://www.sinitargaming.com/skyrim_graphics.html

Once i saw the huge Essay of instructions i immediately gave up. There's way too much "tinkering" and im 100% sure i will fuck it up.

I have used ModOrganizer and NMM in the past, but usually i just let them auto-install mods without almost any changes to load orders and such.

In short, i have absolutely 0 clues about what im doing.

So... Is there an Easy/Lazy way to get the same effect in skyrim?
For example:

>All in 1 mod pack

>GDrive with all the mods and load order instructions

>someone posts their Skyrim data folder and i just copy paste that thing replace all.

or less preferably

>someone posts their load-order file which i noticed NMM has and i manually download the mods and copy the load order. Then come back here and troubleshoot anything that breaks.

Also apart from Graphics, i would really also like the same for Adult mods.

im a fan of https://www.deviantart.com/topsecretname

and he has some pretty good graphics and nsfw mods.

i tried Once to get the same result but after 5 hours of troubleshooting i gave up.

That would be nice

Start from scratch, verify game files through steam after skyrim reinstall, Clean master files, Pick a mod manager,Install SKSE and enboost, and add mods slowly, testing as you go.

With the post you had initial made I would set a goal of 100 mods. This would give you the best chance to have decently modded game running smoothly.

Just got back into Skyrim modding myself. Fallout 4 modding has made me realize just how bad my modding of Skyrim was.

I'm 100% in agreement with the "testing as you go" approach.

I would say you better start with the Adult mods. They are more complicated to install and test.

Basically your adult mods are your core mods and have to work first. If a stable setup is archived with LL mods installed (which includes a body replacer like CBBE or UUNP, animations, physics) you can add mods to change the look of your Skyrim.

Best to add mods in batches related to one theme. For example add a light mod, add combat mods, add city overhauls, add NPC overhauls but not all at once, so it's easier to troubleshoot.

Also the more mods you add the more "stability fixes" are needed.

I tried to write down the whole basics how to prepare Skyrim for LL mods here:

No.

I am going to second this if you want a modded stable game that is fun to play then no there is no short cuts.

I would advise the opposite. Doing the simple stuff first allows you to learn (with less frustration) and helps prepare you for the trickier stuff. Also, things like overhauls and makeovers tend to affect large chunks of Skyrim, (e.g. all trees or all female NPCs), so if they work then you have a large chunk of your game which is good. Most of the mods on LL affect only a specific part of the game (e.g. sex or sex).

"Only" "sex" like: change Dialogues, add dialogues, NPC behavior, add clutter, new buildings, zap furniture, new locations, add new NPC, modify NPC (AIO-P), add quests, add creatures, add more active scripts, start force greets, manipulate existing quests, add animations, add schlongs, new spells, new creatures...

You seem to be too focused on followers only ?

Also it makes no sense to have some nice grass if your game CTD from not working Sexlab/Body/Skeleton/Animation core functions.

They follow me because my game looks nice and is not overly-complicated.  Sex, fighting or standing around while I sell skooma. ?

or standing around

That's what creeps me out the most. I immediately think they are bugged or bored and I have to find a way to entertain them.

Thanks to NFF they have an autobox idle at least and yes, the rest is sex ^^

Don't get me started if I have to kick one from the party (only 10 with NFF). It feels like I just made a NPC really sad and cause her to feel lonely.

I'm sure they think: "Grey Cloud would never do that ?" "Cheap NFF user ?"

If you want the absolute 100% lazy mode you can use https://www.wabbajack.org/

I used the SE Total Visual Overhaul as the base for my SE build.

But there are a couple NSFW builds that include LoversLab content that you could probably just plug and go

And they would be correct on both counts. ?

(I turn off auto idle)

Tempting ?

It's actually pretty nice, as that build only sets up visuals which makes it easy to add game change elements (like LL mods) without any conflicts.

The one change I had to do was it uses Nemesis, so I had to remove that to put FNIS on it

well i didn't expect this to blow up in a single day.

thanks everyone for your suggestions.

ok currently looking into https://www.wabbajack.org/

this is exactly what i meant by Modpacks.

But holy Damn even this requires reading the holy book of instruction manuals to install.

It's easier to just compile my own game in Unreal.

guess i'll give it 2 chances. If i fail, im gonna quit trying to mod skyrim.

i already beat the game... im doing this just because, you know, Covid and there are 0 new releases on PC that i can play atm.
