Stutter problems

I recently got back into Sims 4 and updated all the mods I have; however, the game continues to stutter and it's irritating. I follow the recommended steps and disable the in game v sync, and enable the v sync off my Nvidia settings. That did not work. I can't go into 32 bit due to DLC. I have tried window, but that doesn't seem to fix it. Would mods be the possible culprit?

Try it with all VSync settings set to "off", that helped with some other games on my old laptop.

Also, yes, mods could be causing this, but from my experience this only happens when a lot of large script mods (like WW, Basemental Drugs and MC Command Center) or a ton of CC are installed. Quick look at my Mods folder...16 script mods, folder size of 2.8 GB (including CC) and no stutters.

If you haven't done so already, lower the game's graphics settings in general and also check the screen resolution the game is running on. If it's not your native resolution (the one your OS runs on), change it to use that resolution. Lower graphics and disabled VSync can often work wonders when you want to get rid of stutters.

Save your game state as a new file to be able to return to the current ytate.

Rename your mods folder and start it again. Start a new game and report. Load your old game and report.

It may be a TS4 issue - for me it uses 40% CPU all the time, even after loading in the static game menu. EA did not solve it so far.

I had stuttering issues that were driving me insane, I saw a news article a few days ago saying Windows 10 gaming mode was causing issues across a number of games and was affecting some nvidia cards now too.

I have disabled gaming mode and so far the problem seems to be fixed but I definately need to run this for a lot longer before I can be sure.

Makes sense since I'm running Win7 and only have stuttering if I have too many sims relationships, like over 100.

Here is a link to the article on Techradar, I am working on the assumption that if the games that are listed can be affected there will be others

that are not mentioned.

As I said before I have had stuttering issues on my pc which is not the most powerful, I have a 1050ti installed and all drivers are kept up to date.

Since disabling gaming mode I have not had any re-occurance of the issue but as its only been a few days I am very nervous about saying its definately resolved this.
