Because it can then be abbreviated ReAM.  

 

And my characters got ReAMed quite a number of times playing the previous version of this mod.

Why not just "The Mansion"?
Now it is for the animals, perhaps in a couple of years a basement will be added where the undead are found (Dragon Priest, Draugr, Corrupted Shade, Skeleton etc.) And perhaps in more years it will be prostitution with humanoid races, or a race created only for "La Mansión", or ...

... Don't worry, I know the way out.

Player would not be able to follow or enter the cell. It would be a " private showing room". You can still have them go to the regular basement from time to time and do a real scripted scene if they invite you to join or watch.

I can't tell if you're joking or actually suggesting, so I'll assume actually suggesting because it's a reasonable question.

 

Two answers and they're the same: because "The Mansion" doesn't really describe anything about it - other than it apparently has a big building. Both as a mod name ("oh there's a new mod called The Mansion... wtf is it about?") and as a business name in the game ("oh there's a new business called The Mansion... wtf is it about?"). And I'm not tricksy enough of a hobbit to pick a deliberately cryptic name so that people are lured in to find out what it is.

Wouldn't that mean having a locked door in the building that the player can never open but the NPCs can?

 

I'm also not keen on making people disappear like that. I'm certainly not the first person who would rally to the call of immersion, but what am I getting in exchange for sending them somewhere special like that? There's still the logistics of timing and controlling their behaviors, and while I don't have to care about the player watching them, I now have to care about that locked door.

 

There's still plenty of time to deal with this. Ideally NPCs would go downstairs and run scenes (if the player was around) and I don't yet know if that will be difficult enough to implement such that I should even need to consider alternatives in the first place.

Yeah, if we're doing anime then it has to be an isekai with a sentence for a name, like "I used to be a salaryman but I took a bullet to the knee and now I'm a woman in another world fucking animals for a living".

c'mon - for example: hearing Thaena's story from her Buddy's perspective would be interesting, assuming that you are interested in such challenge.

Mr Ed in his boxcalf/stable would also have his own story about farmer's wive paying him unexpected visits and/or his daughter cornered right by the stream during harvest etc... Some animals (obviously not all) could have their (short or not) stories to tell or share thoughts about how are things going in AM at present.

 

There are no other mods (I'm aware of) that offer chatty beasties - so this would become another selling point for AM on its evolution and would give a potential to kick kinkyness to new level. Imagine basement when leading a customer to specific room for specific show, other animals like convicts in jail, bark at you with all variety of comments like: "and what about me biatch? when will I get some action too?". I won't lie - it smells like SexistGuards, but it smells good... almost like SexistAnimals Lite ?

 

All that attachable and detachable easily (probably) from main quest (maybe even delivered as plugins created by other developers) so not even required for v0.99.999.rc9. ?

Oh no, talking with animals is always an epic fail feature in every skyrim mods. Most of the players cant even interact with animals other than the activity dialog, but thats still not chatting.

BYW: My point was not about talking to them, but more about listening what they have to say (as their perspective may differ, a lot), assuming that someone who likes writing stories will put something surprising in their scripts ?

A forsworn story. There were multiple times when players supposed talk with animals and they couldnt even see the interact button.

Oh, I see. But that's basically a failure on implementation level, not concept one.

Anyway, I will find a way to talk to any animal, assuming it has anything interesting to say, even if there will be some minor obstacles to overcome  ?

I have the same experiences with that feature. And the wierdest thing is that some player can talk to them others dont. Nobody knows why.

on the other side, lots of beasts tell my PC , that the jarl was wise to make my PC a public whore. The bieasties can be wery chatty, if you do not interrrupt them^^ ( it is a bug too). it was realy funny situation the first time.
