TURBODRIVER script missing

so when i try to play the sims it says FATAL ERROR. essential TURBODRIVER_WickedWhims_Script.ts4script file is missing, WhickWhims script file is missing an could not be loaded.

 

so i have gone in the the mods folder for sims 4 and deleted all the WW files out of it and went back to my downloads and extracted the WW rar file back in to the mods folder and it wont work, so i deleted it from the mods folder and my downloads folder and downloaded the WW file again extracted and it wont work, i deleted all the custome content i have downloaded ouut of the mods folder and put them all back in. i have looked at all the common mistakes people make and  installed how it is suggested and still wont work, i found this on the internet delete the whickedwhimsMod folder in the user/documents/sims4/save and the localthumbcache.package in the user/documents/sims4 folder, i tired that and made no difference. what can i do?

How are you installing WW? using the auto installer or manually?.....I recommend manually....select the files then copy or move to mods or the WW folder in mods if you use one...

hi mega, thanks for the reply, i have tried both auto install and manual install and neither worked, so deleted and re downloaded everything and it still wont work

Is your game version 1.61, if not it needs to be updated.

 

Did you load the game and go into game settings/other and enable both scripts and mods?

Then exit.

 

Do you have a Resource.cfg file in your mods folder?

I've attached one below in case you don't.

 

Make 2 new folders in Mods, one named Wicked, and one named Wicked Animations.

 

You only need 2 files for Wicked and they both start with TURBODRIVER, one is a script, and one is a package file.

Copy those 2 into your new Wicked folder.

 

Then copy your animations into the new Wicked Animations folder.

(You did download some animations, yes?)

 

Don't add any other mods or cc until after you get WW working first.

 

If it still won't load it may be an anti-virus blocking it, or a drive access permission problem.

(Like if you store or run your game files from 'One Drive', or another cloud storage).

yep done all of that and it says not to have it more than one folder deep and it already creates a ww folder and the thing i couldn't understand was when i installed the ww  the TURBODRIVERS were installed yet it tells me it couldn't be found, i have fixed it now through no help from the internet. i just deleted the WW folder from mods and put it back in mods repeatedly until it worked and i installed manually, it didn't work (i didn't delete it) i stilled it automatically it didn't work  (didn't delete it) then i unzipped it my self and it was installed / added 3 times and it works now, thanks for trying to help mega

How did you unzip? I have the same problem and I don't know how to fix it. I try everything ?

Any number of free extraction utilities should work.

WinZip, 7Zip, WinRar, IZArc, etc.

(I tend to use IZArc only on .Zip files myself)

 

You should see a WickedWhimsMod folder after extracting with 2 files named TURBODRIVER inside.

The other files are extra and don't need to be installed.

Just copy/paste the WIckedWhimsMod folder directly into your Mods folder.

I opened 'view custome content' and the files are there but it's as if the game fails to recognize. I don't know what to do.

Your game version is 1.68 right?

And WW is 161c version?

 

Try looking in your TS4/save folder and delete any Wicked folders you see.

Make sure you have no other copies of Wicked installed.

Delete your localthumbcache.pkg in your TS4 folder frequently when/after testing.

Try running in game again after above is finished.

 

Lastly try doing an Origin Repair next.

Here you can only download the current version as everyone not updating the game as soon as a new WW version is released is considered having a pirated TS4 version. Siri may help you to find an older WW version but please ask no further questions here.

Please update your game and use the current WW version this time and make sure to fetch all WW versions when they are released, especially if you plan to install them one month later.

It happened to me the same way,is not that about antivirus or something else,the files must be put exactly in mods folder,not in folders from mods folder,because it can't read the mod script,so this is,try this i assure you it will work,for me did.

I am having the same issue, and I have updated to the latest version.

 

Followed instructions to the letter, as can be seen, only ONE folder deep. The script(s) are there, and yet the game says they are not. Suggestions for a fix? I have removed ALL other mods and it still does not work.

Did more research into it, Wicked and Wonderful (both updated fully) both conflict. I tried isolating each other and they work independently, however having both conflicts.

I always thought that Wonderful was Wicked without sex. So if you have Wicked, you don't need Wonderful. I can see why it's an error, because you basically have 2 copies of Wonderful loaded.

Prior to the recent update, having both worked fine, but perhaps this was changed.

Yep, that is correct, they're not meant to be used together, since they're basically the same mod.

WonderfulWhims was from the moment of its inception created from stripped down WickedWhims code, so it always caused issues.

Hi everyone,

 

for those running on Win10 and higher: The EA folder is located under "Documents"; I have noticed that the odd Windows update has set some folders to "online only" status, meaning the data are loaded from Windows OneDrive - and that might take longer than it takes your game to load. Check that the EA folder is set to "Always keep on this device" (right click on file, select → the option should be ticked now in the context menu). (This also explained some performance drops in other games. Joy...)

That cleaned the issue right up for me. Hope this helps.
