prakhan Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Thank you for the input. Yes it's only 100 weight mesh as that's all I had to work with. And that's my bad Classic missed / bad texture pathing I,ll upload a fix asap Patch up drag and drop this file in mod replace the other mesh Or just fix the path as seen here in Nifskope Femboi Races testPatch.7z
ItalianDragon Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 So quick update on my end. I'm still trying to find a talented 3d modeler that can help me sort out the issues I'm having with my mesh. Technically the childhood friend of a friend of mine would be that person but sadly his PC who was already pretty old died during a 3d render a few weeks ago so even assuming he had time to tedicate to this little 3d modelling project, well with a PC that is out of commission (as the motherboard probably died and there's a chance it took the hard disk along with itself if not more), it's kinda difficult to look at a 3d model In the meantime I took some time to polish up the mesh a bit better in 3ds Max. Some verts were pushed too far in and that degraded the quality of the mesh. So the left model on the picture is the one I showcased here. The one on the right is the corrected version I've worked on. I'll probably keep on trying to improve it although it's a bit of a chore as unlike Mudbox, the selection tool of 3ds Max doesn't offer the option to select vertices symmetrically so I gotta do that on my own. Best thing that there'd be would be finding a script that would help with that. I did find one but it was for 3ds max 4, AKA the version that released in.... 2001 . Â Â Now obviously if I find someone that can help me out, I'll make sure to update the thread ^^
prakhan Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Hey, thanks for the update. Wish i had skills to offer & ( If there anything a noob like me can do to help let me know Btw I hope it was ok butting your mash into that release a few post back. I kinda inferred that it would be fine by your other post but i didn't get a direct permission anyway keep up the good work Â

Besides like I've said a whole bunch of posts earlier, once it'll be done I'll release it with the base files to work on it if you wanna modify to your liking, the bodyslide presets and sliders for outfit conversion (I'll convert a bunch but I'm sure that people will want to convert some obscure outfit for it so I might as well make the process easy ^^). as for what could you do, well if you happen to know someone who's skilled in 3d modelling and helps me resolving this normal map issue that'd be fantastic ^^ Â

SoulMystique Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 It's difficult to convert female armors because of the breast plate >:T
prakhan Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 yea  try the _0 weigh or look for a petite conversion or a uunp version convert to a petite then take that into outfit studio  I just port stuff from other sources or mash crap in 3ds via scale /hackery then into OS for weightingÂ

ItalianDragon Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Heyo everyone ! Â Thanks to a friend of mine I figured out why I was having these normal map issues. Basically the normal map transfers the details of the hi-poly mesh down to the low poly mesh as the game engine otherwise wouldn't be able to handle it (just for reference my model who is rather simple, in its hi-poly version has over 3 million verts). So to mantain that sweet sweet detail, you can make a map to keep that detail in a simple and way less resource-intensive manner, all while using a lower res mesh. Now here's the catch with mine: since the low and hi poly meshes are identical, well obviously there's no detail to transfer, hence the ultraflat normal maps I'd get. Â All in all this means that I'll simply add all the hi-poly details from the Bodyslide mesh on mine (skin detail, belly button, nipples, skin folds,etc...) and then make a low poly model from that hi poly model. That will resolve any kind of issue I had with the normal map baking and would finally mark the end of the troubles with the mod, as with all I've learned, remaking the same process with the "fat" meshe will be a lot faster (like for starters I won't spend a year figuring out why I'm having these weird lighting issue only to find out it's a hole in the vertices, or how Mudbox doesn't like tris and prefer quads ). Â So all in all I'm making progress, it might be slow that's for sure, but it's progress nonetheless

ItalianDragon Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 So quick update on my end: I figured out that a few issues I was having with the maps and such stemmed from the fact that the UV Maps disappear so I'll have to remake them. From what I've seen around this part is the most hated ever by modelers in general, so I'm bracing for the worse (lol). In all cases it's a mandatory step to get a high quality model so I'm not gonna skip on that part anyways. That's all for now, as usual I'll keep you guys posted about any updates or news I have about the mod

Either way just keep in mind that adding or deleting vertices to the mesh borks the uv map, subdividing is fine.

Either way just keep in mind that adding or deleting vertices to the mesh borks the uv map, subdividing is fine.   I should then (hopefully) be fine as I haven't altered the vertices. Closest to that I've done was welding an edge who was split in half. What's gonna be trickier though will be matching the way the map was cut in Outfit Studio so that any texture mod that works for CBBE can also work with my body. Â
ItalianDragon Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 So lads I have great news ! I have resolved the missing UV's problem when I subdivide the model in Mudbox ! The solution was right in my face from the get go as the "Mesh" menu has an option I didn't notice before : "Recreate Level UVs" Thanks to that the UV's are preserved and I don't have to remake them from scratch (which, from what I looked around, is a huge chore). Â So that's one additional problem out of the way. Now I just need to get working on the hi-poly mesh details so I can make the normal map ^^Â
Guest Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Oh this is very relevant to my interests. All my boys use awkwardly-edited flat chested female bodies and they don't look all that great. I'm glad that this is being made.

shidoni Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Shall i create a "Femboy Content thread" in the meanwhile ?
FauxFurry Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Shall i create a "Femboy Content thread" in the meanwhile ? Femboy content was posted in the Male Content Call Out thread previously. It might be fine even if the OP prefers the addition of links to new mods rather than images.
