How do I add more than 5 people to a message group?

Hi,

I want to add a bunch of people to a message group, but it's capped at 5. I've been in groups with 11 people. What am I doing wrong?

Contact a moderator and they can uncap it. Or, start a private club. Either method should work. If you look at the old thread "Site questions" this question was asked and answered there (yes I know it's locked but you can still read the old posts).

Thanks. :)

I assumed that not many people encountered this, so I didn't look in the 'site questions' thread. Sorry.

You're welcome.

It was NOT meant as any sort of rebuke. It was a gentle reminder to all your readers, including myself, that the Site thread is a useful source of information still (even though it's been locked for the better part of a year).

I know, I just felt like an idiot. ?

Hey! Welcome to my world! Whenever you put yourself out there you take the risk that you will misspeak and have that happen. For me, the long term benefit of being helpful and, hopefully, making some friends, is worth the risk.

actually the limit depends on what user group your in:

"Members" are limited to 5,

i don't know what "Supporters" are limited to.

"Contributors" could have up to 50 (don't know if that's still true or not, the site is not showing me my limit anymore)

oddly "Moderators" could only have something like 10-15 (i forget the exact number, CPU mentioned it in a post a year or 2 ago)

"admin" is unknown....but i would assume unlimited.

I just contacted CPU. He asked for a list of people so he can make it for me. He said he can make a group up to 50 people.

By the way, how do people get a contributor title? I've seen a few longtime creators without it.

Moderators and Contributors will nominate people that they find helpful and/or uniquely talented, if there's enough support for the nominations after (random number here) months then those people will get promoted to Contributors.

unfortunately most Contributors only specialize in certain games so some areas of the site are lacking Contributors to nominate for new Contributors,

Eg: i'm a skyrim modder so i know nothing about "dead or alive", therefor i will never nominate or support a DOA user/modder because i know nothing about them or there work.

You have to be a creator. I'm just porting mods and I think that there are some people that do it much better than me, but I did for the public what others just did for private use.(And I did a lot of stupid things....)

Becomming a contributor made me creative... I got the title bevor I did Ysgramor's spoon and the Arrow-in-the-knee-boot. Things that always have been missing in Skyrim...

My abillities are still overrated, but I reached my goal: things are going in SSE....

Is the 'Contributor' status something the contributors decide without you knowing or did you ask them yourself?

I didn't really know that I was nominated until I got the title, I think, that it must have been T.ara who nominated me for my attempts to bring ZAZ to SE. I also don't know who voted for me. I hope they don't regret it by now....

.....actually it was me (see "Contributor Nominations (5th edition)" post #30),  but T.ara did support the nomination (post #36).

also i did hint to you about it in one of our PM's.

Yeah, I also remember that T.ara wrote something about nominating me in the ZAZ thread, but at that time I didn't even know what 'contributer' means. I was very suprized to become a contributer and I never really understood, why. I still believe, that Tasairis and Lazyboots had done more at that time. Without them there never had been a CF or DD for SE.  I was just the one who had the courage to put everything together and create a download. And I never claimed that to be my work...

Ok, we are getting far off topic, but this is where things get intersting: Do you regret it, that you nominated me, or do you think, that the people who nominated you regret it now, because you nominated me?

no, why would i? you've been dealing with all the SSE porting shit so i/we did not have to, and with MNC you helped point out some potential problems.

they either don't care who i nominate or also supported my nomination of you, SO STOP WORRYING ABOUT IT AND JUST KEEP BEING YOU.

Being me is usually the point were the trouble begins. I got used to it... So don't worry: I'm a punk, I have keep up the image.

I don't think you quite realize how godsent it is to most modders when someone else takes the burden of dealing with SE shit and SE users so that the modders can do their LE things in peace if they prefer that platform. That quite literally falls under the textbook definition of contribution.

Being humble is both admirable and commendable in this day and age but sometimes you need to toot your own horn to stop you from starting to believe that you ain't doing shit.

From my point of view the old modders should at least take a look how their mods behave in SE, because a lot of the usual troublemakers like bad nifs, textures or texturesettings in SE also cause trouble in LE, but LE is more forgiving. There are only a few that really care about this.
