If you are not playing Fo4 VR, choose either one, they both work. NG provides more informations when it comes to debugging crashes caused by F4SE plugins (not all of them). Standard buffout has a Archive Limit patch but i never tried it (too many bug reports).

Also the "older Buffout 4" is newer than NG and has been for the past 8mos or so, it received additional updates when the creator started working on it again, after the NG author stopped working on that one. The main differences I'm aware of are that OG has a fix for the archive limit, while NG has debugger integration and supports VR (if anybody actually plays that).

Hey, I'm getting the bug where whenever an AAF scene starts, both actors just stand inside eachother clipping. Don't think I have a single mod NOT in this guide and I believe I have all the prereqs needed, especially considering there are no "missing master" alerts on MO2. Any ideas? Saw some people saying in other threads that it happens when animations are installed wrong, but I don't see how exactly one could install an animation mod wrong? Thanks in advance to anyone who sees this and responds

Was this a groping scene?

 

(Sex Harrassment's groping scenes currently do this. I do not know which animations it uses, nor do I know whether there's better animations for groping.)

Real handcuffs. Disable/remove mod and launch AAF manually. If everything allright you can try to add back RH

Anyone got any suggestions for good female + female anims? looked through all the animation packs at the start of this thread and can't seem to find anything that doesn't involve a strap on.

If you install the ones listed you'll find several FF and even FFFF muff munching animations.

@izzyknows Well that's odd because the only ones that I didn't install form the list were those that were focused on M+M and the 50 shades set which seems to be BDSM focused, neither of which, without wishing to disparage or discriminate are not to my tastes. When trying  to initiate a simple make out session my PC and her current paramour I get a message from AAF saying that no F+F animations were found. When MSWL kicks in the two girls simply lie on the bed, naked put their feet together and do a sort of weird cycling motion with their legs. and thats all she wrote. Initiate sex with another female by any other means starts a scene with a strap-on every other time. Am I missing something? If there is a specific anim set in the list you know of that contains some F+F anims then i'd appreciate a heads up because looking at the lists on the individual pages has not elicited any obvious  F+F  focused sets. Or If you know of a way in game or data files that I can look at the animations I have installed and work out if I have an issue in my install I'd appreciate it.

With apologies, I have had some difficulties with my installation I would ask for help with. That being, my game crashes when loading any save. I can start new saves fine, and the mods work, up until trying to load a save from either the main menu or from within the game.

 

Perhaps the problem is my arrogance, as I installed first the wabbajack list Fusion, and followed this guide to build on top. If all that can be said is to not do that, I will reinstall from scratch.

 

As far as troubleshooting. The strategy of disabling half of the mods, seeing if the problem persists, and repeating, has not been useful. All I can say is, with some caution, that the Fusion list plus AAF/themes/animations works, and that adding more mods beyond that grows increasingly likely to crash on load.

 

CLASSIC crash log scans have not been useful to me, as I have not been able to get the FCX mode to work, and the first section with "CHECKING IF LOG MATCHES ANY KNOWN CRASH SUSPECTS..." is not consistent between crashes. I have attached a crash log and autoscan in any case.

Hey, thanks for the guide. It is excellent, my game runs well.

I have a little issue ; all the sounds are good (sex noise, coughing or beeing cold, having an orgasm etc) but all the moanning of the AAF sex scenes are very low level and i can barely hear them. They exist anyway, so it's seems very strange.

Any idea to resolve that ?

Ok, ... but if you have inconsistent crash logs, no one here is going to be able to see the inconsistencies if you do not post the different crash logs.

 

Worse, this might mean that you have multiple problems which can crash the game.

 

I would suggest going through the AUTOSCAN and reading the google doc for crash suspects for each of the high severity suspects and making sure that you have dealt with each mentioned issue.

 

I think you should also make the buffout 4 config change for looks menu config which the AUTOSCAN log describes. (And, of course, make sure you have the right versions installed for aaf and rusty face fix).

 

I do not know if whatever problem you have could have damaged your save file. But if you fix all of these kinds of issues and are still getting crashes you might need to start a new game.

Howdy

I've clocked in about ~480 hours in FO4 so far and I'm on my 3rd play-through now. Things are going mostly great, bug/crash free (thank you all for the guides and support in this forum <3).

 

But as a mod addict I can't stop thinking... did I screw things up or did I miss something cool?

I mostly aim for the more or less "realistic/sensible/immersive" mod-list for an adult game, without grotesque/comedy mods or outright "not lore friendly". Roleyplay a survivor in a harsh post-apo reality, where thigs can get really dark, brutal and bad.

 

Are any of these redundant/obsolete or in conflict? Missing any cool stuff? I'm looking for tips on mods in general from you experienced people. ❤️

The mods I was considering talking about (asking if you were interested in those kinds of things) were LL mods. Some of them are even listed in this thread's first post. But that gets into asking you about your interests and preferences and so on.

Gotcha. I did start from this very guide, went through all of them and came down to what I am using now. From time to time I just go to the "downloads" view here for fallout 4 and check out new stuff. I am trying to aim for the adult stuff obviously, but more or less "realistic" without funny stuff. For example I am using FPE Redux and added Wasteland Dairy on top, as the baby feeding/milk and stuff seemed okay. After playing hours I will remove it on the next run, because unfortunately it has too much stuff that I find "weird/unrealistic/not lore-friendly" (making milkers out of settlers and breeding with animals). However pregnancy, menstruation, rape, abduction, whoring for money - these things do make sense in the "i woke up post-apocalypse civilian and need to face the world". Something along those lines.

Worse, this might mean that you have multiple problems which can crash the game.

 

I would suggest going through the AUTOSCAN and reading the google doc for crash suspects for each of the high severity suspects and making sure that you have dealt with each mentioned issue.

 

I think you should also make the buffout 4 config change for looks menu config which the AUTOSCAN log describes. (And, of course, make sure you have the right versions installed for aaf and rusty face fix).

 

I do not know if whatever problem you have could have damaged your save file. But if you fix all of these kinds of issues and are still getting crashes you might need to start a new game.

After some considerable time trying to bugfix as you suggested; this crashing behavior is beyond me. Almost certainly multiple things are wrong.

 

However, if I follow this guide with a vanilla install as the starting point like it says to do, everything* works. Funny how that goes. My recommendation is to stick with following this guide pretty strictly if you are not already pretty comfortable modding FO4 specifically.

 

 

*I have not gotten looksmenu to work with bodyslide sliders, but that is not strictly covered by the guide, and also something I never got quite working my last stab at modding FO4 some time ago.

LooksMenu and BodySlide are unrelated, and use different slider definitions. Make sure the "build morphs" checkbox is checked in BodySlide and build only the outfits and body replacers you're using (for example, don't batch build both FG and CBBE versions of the body or for outfits, since one will end up overwriting the other and 50% of the time it'll be the one you didn't want). If you're using FG, make sure to install ZeX-ZBG so that you'll have the LooksMenu slider data.

Well I was gone for a while so late response, but I tried what people suggested and removed real handcuffs to see if that would fix it. Whenever an AAF scene starts, all npcs just stand inside each other. I don't think I installed animations wrong cause I don't see how you could even do it wrong with MO2. I feel like i'm missing something dumb and I'm just kinda stumped.

Just figured it out. You need LLFP apparentally, didn't realise that. Going to restate the problem I was having again so that its easier for someone to find this on google if they fuck up like I did: Whenever I would start an AAF animation, it would bug out and the actors would clip and stand inside each other instead of the correct animation.
