Slang- What's it Called Where You're From?

I was talking to a couple of young women the other day and ran into a bit of a language barrier. They speak Spanish, you see, and I just happen to (think) I know some of the language including some slang words. So, I jokingly said a few words that most people from here understand and seem to find funny. These two women, however, did not think what I said was funny and I quickly tried to point out that it was in Spanish after all. One of them declared that she was from Puerto Rico and that what I said was highly insulting! Needless to say the convo didn't last long after that, lol.

So, I got to thinking about all the different slang terms here in the U.S. and wondered what things like "pussy" or "butt-fucking" are called elsewhere. Like I heard once that saying "How about that root?" in Australia means "Do you wanna fuck?". Another is "Felia" (spelling?) in Spanish here that means "money". "Puñeta" in Spanish here means "Jerk off". "What are some slang words or phrases from your neck of the woods?

The only 'foreign' language I know is street Mexican.  I can also speak nigga hood rat.  Doubt I could type out anything you haven't heard before.  'Chingadera'...'that fucking thing I can't remember the name of'; vulgar Mexican version of 'thing-a-ma-jig'.  'Culito' means 'ass' but specifically used in the context of 'you little asshole'.  Similarly there's 'culone' which is 'fat-ass'.  My all time favorite Mexican insult is 'pinche frejolaro'; basically 'you fucking beaner'.  I reserve it for chollos and eses when they pull their 'pinche bolillo' bullshit.  I grew up with Chicanos, btw.

What gets me is that a word or saying that's commonly used in one place can have a different meaning in another place, even in the same language or in a different time! Personally, I just think people are getting butt-hurt over nothing. If I'm obviously not a native speaker of the language, then shouldn't they be a little more forgiving if I say something wrong or whatever? I know I am:cool:

But, I didn't really start this thread to complain. It's more about funny slang that people use around the world because I've always enjoyed saying shit to people in their language or using the local term instead of sounding like some dumb hillbilly that arrogantly doesn't even try to learn.

Anyway...someone on here said "dolphin porn" one time and I'd never heard that. The nearest thing I found was this- "Swinging the dolphin (c. 1922)
This is another of these naval phrases for masturbation. The "dolphin", if you want to look at it that way, is the penis and the hand swings it in masturbation. Swinging the dolphin is the naval equivalent of the army term "blanket drill," which means "in bed and masturbating."

I've heard this word once or twice in movies or something;  Aiteann – “Cunt”
Another unsavoury word for lady parts, it most closely translates to “cunt” or “pussy” and it’s one of the strongest words in Irish.

I know I would.  Can't think of the specific example, but I do remember insistences of second language English speakers being quietly told that a certain word, or even gesture, didn't mean what they thought it meant, at least "around here" (wherever that was).

Oh, here's one:  The stereotypical U.S. tourist in Iran, giving anyone and everyone the old 'thumbs up' gesture.  Turns out that in that culture, it's equivalent to giving the middle finger.  ("Fuck you!")  Oops.

Just an example of the local Jamaican Patwah that has slightly infiltrated the black community in the US.

Does that actually work as a pickup line? And welcome back, Kotter.

I've never heard any of you say "kfb" or "KFBFB"

but then your bombasts are not restricted (See above/See below was too normie I guess)

And I thought (kfb) they couldn't say "r".

I'm editing this to kill time, I can't sleep and it looks unclear (I said, biting my finger and flicking my chin)

KFB means "Kindly follow back" in twitter-ese.

"Have a nice day"
