jpee1965 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Hello! I blew my entire Skyrim away a few weeks back for a fresh start. My current LO is MUCH lighter than previous installs. I was running MCG, all the creature animation mods (over 10,000 anims at one stage) along with numerous armor mods and so on. I thought I had a bullet proof load order until recently when my game started to crash on loading after I leveled up to 2. That is, I leveled up in game to 2nd level and keep playing then saved saved without an issue and exited the game. When I came back to start playing again my game crashes when I try to load the save! I can go back and load any save PRIOR to when I leveled up and it works fine. Trying to load my most recent save where I am level 2 results in insta crash to desktop. In 7300 hours of playing heavily modded load orders (with considerable success) I CANNOT figure this out!! I have: starting with the basics --- Tried three different NVIDIA driver sets (very latest, next latest and one 9 months old) =crash Set my audio down to 16 bit 44100khz CD turning off exclusive access = crash Check windows 10 up to date = crash Deleted appcache in Steam and validated local files = crash Installed and configured crash fixes per documentation = crash Deleted plugin and load order txt's so Steam can rebuild mod lists = crash Ran LOOT and rearranged mods only from vast experience in my load order = crash Built a bashed patch with a couple tweaks and leveled lists only = crash Have merged numerous mods to keep plugin numbers low = crash Ran xEdit on complete current load order , no issues = crash Cleaned my master files in xEdit auto clean (plus manual in Dragonborn ) = crash LOOT reports no issues in my LO line up = crash ENB binaries .392 running Real life ENB silky smooth = crash Ran BETH INI = crash I can play and load games without issues until I level up from 1st to 2nd anywhere on the map and it will CRASH that leveled up save all the time!! Just Don't Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 CTD on loading an existing save is usually caused by too many animations. There are a couple of fixes, I don't know if you already use them, because these fixes don't show up in a loadorder. You could try one of these: Load Game CTD Fix Animation Loading Fix

I am actually using Load Game Fix and Animation Load fix, although my animation count these days is down to 3300 and neither seem to help. I also just updated XPSME which is supposed to fix some CTD with FNIS 7.5 but doesn't help me. I am running the regular version of FNIS not the XXL version.
GenioMaestro Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Do you have PapyrusUtil 3.3 and JContainers 3.3? Be sure you have the last versions and none other mod overwrite it. That two mods are core mods that must be always at the end of the mod list in MO and none mod can change it. If problem persist disable mods until locate the problem. Start disabling mods with DLL's because can cause interferences in the save process.

Andy14 Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 This sounds like a mod has made some changes to level item outfits or other level forms. A corrupt Nif for armor would be enough.

Mez558 Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 I thought too many animations CTD'd at game load not save load? I could be wrong, I've not pushed the limit in a while. Also, whenever I do a rebuild I start with the essentials, then basics. Make sure it is stable with them. So actually playing the game. I've normally cleared Bleakfalls barrow before I start adding fluff. From what I can see you're going to have to go back to an old save that loads and remove some mods. Start with Armour and Followers. Save and use a save clean tool on that. Then play through to level 2 and without the fluff and see how that does. If it works, add things one at a time. If not go back and remove more until you can level up and load that save. That's kind of an obvious answer I know but I don't see you have much choice.
