Red/Dark Faces for Humans/elves

Like the title says, all humans and elves have a darker skin color on their head and face than their bodies. For males I use Vitruvia, and for females I use thePure. I have a while ago recently redone my skyrim, removing mods, textures, meshes, and the like, and sorta started over for stability(Which I haven't experienced in a while before doing this.). The only npcs that don't suffer the dark faces are the ones added by mods. Could anyone tell me how to fix this?

Well first off uninstall the mods you use for altering NPCs appearance, then add them back one by one, checking each time in game for the issue to resurface, then when you know which mod is causing it we can look into it more or you can just find another mod.

 

The red face bug is a known issue when making a custom follower though but it would be strange if you somehow had that issue on all npcs

Unfortunately, I've already done that..to no avail. >< I don't have any ENBs, so also Vitruvia's fix won't work..any other ideas? Would it be something in a ini. file? I've change those in small places...but I've forgotten where by now. ><

you mean followers? or even vanilla npcs added by mods like ETAC and Inconsequential NPCs, if you mean followers i would look to see what mods are overwriting the races in skyrim.esm

EVERYTHING that is not in vanilla skyrim seems to not suffer the Red/Dark faces thing. It may be a vanilla npc, but if a mod put them in skyrim, they won't get it in my skyrim...and recently...

My issue has...evolved, or changed. I found a few texture folders in my skyrim that weren't used anymore(a few things in the facegen thingy) and moved them out of my skyrim folder. Doing that got rid of the red faces...but instead they're now grey. >< Weird thing is, it's not every npc that's suffering it now... some npcs are fine. Others have the grey face bug now.

sounds like you have a mod overwriting vanilla hair entries, do you have shiva hair mod installed or do you run Botox with CharGen?

were talking males and females that are vanilla. something is messing up in the headparts department. It could be the races as head data is applied there, it could be what goes into head data( were talking hair  and maybe eyes) i would look in xedit and see what you have overwriting the vanilla hairs and the vanilla races in skyrim.esm with all mods loaded into xEdit.  

 

what mod manager do you use and have you switched mod managers any time recent?
