So sitting here waiting for the skintone apocalypse, I ended up doing a pretty substantial makeover of Cara Stojanovic, editing her face through a combination of choosing the same eye and nose presets as her sister Linnie (in terms of "game genetics"the two weren't originally related, I just worked that in later, and Cara was made way after Linnie) and then modifying the shape of those based on the original reference model I used to make her (Cara that is). Also changed her hairstyle. I think the new look I got for her turned out really well. Some skintone and skin detail changes here as wel. 

 

        

 

        

 

I Also made some smaller changes to Linnie, though not really in terms of face shape or features. I changed her skintone to one that didn't have as flat of a texture as the old one she was using (which is from a very old, and frankly not very good set of skinetones I have) and applied some skin details to give her face a bit more texture than it used to have.
 

    

 

Since I think Cara now might resemble Linnie a bit more than she did before I also brought up her "natural hair color" look, because it's often more useful if to see them with the same hair color to see how similar (or not similar) they might be.

Like @Santana-Red said, that's the teen version of Thalia Jordan, however as she is at the moment the uploaded version is a bit outdated now as I've updated her apperance somewhat on my own end without updating her for this collection. Among other things, the hairstyle that teen Thalia uses is a bit different in the uploaded version as I've found another one I like better.

Here's a couple of more looks at some of the here and there sim updates I'm doing. I've been updating Thalia Jordan and Alexis Vinter as well alongside Tracy, who I uploaded an updated version of recently. Not really big edits with either of them as regards their basic appearance, though both did get a couple of skin detail changes and Thalia got some new eyebrows (her old ones were OLD, and the texture wasn't that good). Otherwise it's mostly warderobe and makeup changes (God, I hope the coming patch doesn't break CC makeup...)

I love that you're moving more towards using maxis match looking hair. A lot of custom hair just looks like dollhair and stretches weird.

Okay. Get ready for a big one...

 

I don't know if people have noticed but I'm a bit scatterbrained when it comes to how I go about making sims and anything else, I'll start one, put it aside, come back to it much later to make some edits, maybe completing it, and so on, and I'll often take my old sims and make changes every now and then as well. And I do this for multiple sims at the same time, 

 

So I figured I should put together a quick overview of what's currently on my workplate as regards current WIPs of various types, reworks, new sims, family expansions, what have you. This is as much to give you a preview of what you migh have to look forwards to as it is to allow me to get a bit of an overview of what I maybe actually should try focusing on completing and uploading. 

 

I didn't bother doing much posing for the pictures here and only grabbed headshots, not outfit pictures or full body pictures. Kind of had a bunch of sims to go through here. 

 

First up some families

 

Maryam Khoroushi

So I already uploaded Maryam's parents and I showed off me working on trying to find a new hairstyle for her, as I was getting a bit fed up with the one I'd been using and the issues I was having with it bending all weirdly and stuff. Now I think I finally found a replacment hairstyle that kind of looks similar to her current one, and frankly looks and moves that much better, in terms of other changes to her, it's not that much really. Some outfit changes here and there. 

 

      

 

However, in addition to her parents which I completed and uploaded I do think I should look into completing the rest of her family I've got, when I get around to uploading this new version of her with the new hairstyle. Below are (paternal) grandparents, her uncle and her cousins. 

 

   

 

      

 

Sydney Coloma

Sydney is one of my older sims, who has not been uploaded in reworked form to this collection yet, and I think it might be time to actually get around to doing that at some point in the future. In addition to her however, I've also got (and have had for a long while) a family set up for her, they're meant to be from Sulani and I think they'd add some decent flavor to that place, I've also often used her brother (with the hat) as one of Jason McFadden's friends. 

 

Below are Sydney, her parents, and the rest of her family (3 brothers and a sister)

 

      

 

         

 

Mikaela Rosenkranz

Mikaela is another example of a sim where I've been trying out different hairstyles and I think I've now landed on one I like really well (now unlike Maryam there wasn't anything strictly wrong with ther old hair, I just like this one better), I've also made a couple of edits here and there to her as well. I've got her parents more or less done as regards their basic appearance, but here I also want to add some siblings, I'm thinking a younger brother and sister. 

 

      

 

Samantha McPherson

This I started doing as a result of talking to someone who requested that I make a family for this sim, and that this family be large, so I started working on that and got some decent sims to work with. I'd say basically all of these are still very much WIP and subject to change quite a bit. Samantha herself has not really seen any changes since last time I uploaded her, so here I'd mostly just be dealing with uploading an "addition" with her family and their CC (and probably gonna do the sims here "townie style" with less selection of outfits than I normally do). 

 

Here I've done the parents first, with their kids (including Samantha) more or less shown in order of descending age. 

 

         

 

         

 

That's it for the current family expansions I've got in the works, though there may be mroe, and I realize I forgot to put in Jenny Kaplan and her brother here as well (look a page or two back for that), the remainder here is going to be various groups of WIP sims. 

 

AEP (porn industry) Sims

So I wanted to add a couple more sims here (even though I've already got plenty, but I often use these sims for scenarios, videos and image galleries so it's something I want to have) to knd of round out my roster and add a bit more depth and diversity.

First guy here is Joey Rivas, a camera operator and possible editor working for Owen Rockwell, he was originally created as a possible Alto family member, but I discarded him, but decided to use him for a different role down the line.

Second is Paige, who's shown up as a stylist in some of stories and pictures in the past. Might add a couple of more "support staff" like these, feel like something that could be neat to have.

The other three are very recent creations (yesterday), and are all supposed to be performers of various stripes. 

 

   

 

      

 

Mt. Komorebi Sims

Here's some quick Japanese sims I quickly put together the basics of when Snowy Escape came out, they're still very much just sketches and don't really have much in the way of characterization or even names at this point. Tracy's half-sister Sachiko was originally in this group when I found a use for her. I might very well use these sims to create families around, perhaps even to use for the Simkuza, though having non-Simkuza families in Mt. Komorebi would be appropriate as well. 

 

      

 

Reworked Older Sims

These are reworks I meant to complete and release of some of my older sims, some of which are part of this collection and others are older sims that have not yet been added here in updated, more detailed form. First here is Angelina Reece, from one of my older packs, I've recently been pairing her up with Hannah Albright (who's seen some subtle but not very big changes as well, and likely also will see a quick reupload), like when I played around with those dancing animations I found, I'm thinking of making her be a dancer, like Hannah.

Second is Luna, one of the first sims I uploaded to this collection, she's got a pretty thorough makeover and new outfits, and will likely also see an update to her bio, which is very short.

Third is another sim from one of my older packs, Stephanie Abraham, not quite sure exactly what I'm going to do with her as regards characterization, but I'll probably come up with something. 

 

      

 

Male Sims

This is a mix of new and reworks.

First here is a light rework of a sim, Derek Keyes, I uploaded to a pack of male sims a good while back, before this collection, who I have not uploaded in updated form to this collection, he probably needs some more work, but I always liked the look of him and giving him some attention and updating him to be up to the same standard as my other sims as regards skills/traits/outfits and with a bit of characterization or backstory, would be neat. Way back, when I was actually playing the game more regularly he was Thalia Jordan's boyfriend, no idea if I'm going to keep this detail though. We'll see. 

The other two... Not much to say at the moment, not quite sure what exactly I'll do with them, but I think I can find a use for them, likely they'll be college students or something. 

 

      

 

New Female Sims

Well, new female sims that don't fit into any of the entries above. Not much detail for any of these, they've got temp names and randomized traits and not much in the way of outfits set up at the moment (with the exception of the Asian girl, who's got a good selection already). I think they're all looking pretty good though.

Fifth here is the sim I got after making some changes and such to quick sim I created based off that one Colombian(?) girl someone posted a couple of pages back who I uplaoded the initial version of. Sim here has been edited further (without attempting to get a closer likeness to the initial reference pictures).

As far as I can tell it seems like CC makeup survived, just doesn't work with all the new sliders (which makes sense, though I expect we'll see slider compatible CC makeup going forwards), that's a great relief, incredible news really. 

 

CC skintones are broken. I expected that to be honest. I'm going to have to take a look at how the new skintones look and see if I might just decide to stop using CC skintones all together, mostly I've just been using them for extra shades, and if this new slider/color wheel works well, then I don't really need the CC skintones anymore, even if they do get fixed. Still gonna be a bit of a chore fixing all my sims' skintones... Might have to just go through all my sims as they are on the old version and screenshot them, so I have some reference material to go by.

 

I don't think I'll be able to quickly reupload everything here with the new skintone setup, so yeah for the moment most of the uploads from before this patch, people are probably gonna have to take it upon themselves to remove the CC skintones and in CAS set the skintones to what they feel looks good for the sims in question. Hopefully I'll be able to come around to it eventually.

Good choice... Against my better judgement I did update just so I could start repairing the damage... As soon as I start up the game with mods enabled I am greeted with a white screen, unable to do anything but listen to the background music.

Had to go edit the options textfile to turn mods off... and it works. FML.

 

Edit: Appearently Neia's "More clubs per sim"-mod caused my issue.

Also good for NPCs in the regular acting career or the photoshoots as wardrobe and stylist will show up in both instances.

 

Though not a fan of the CC hair of that last girl. Most of your characters now have maxis match and seeing one random doll hair like thing is off-putting.

Alright, haven't done an exhaustive search, but all sims appear to just... look the same as they used to. Their old custom skintones are no longer selectable in the new CAS, but if you leave them as-is, they just look the same it appears. Apocalypse averted? I dunno, but it kind of seems so...

I considered that myself, but realized that EA skin tones are not made to support penises. Any sims with a penis (male or female) would end up having a black one.

I second this.  I literally grabbed two of your sims at random (Alisha and Candance) and placed them in my world. The skintones for both looked okay. I didn't do any gameplay, however.  Just launched into a household and immediately paused the game.

 

As mentioned, we can no longer select the original skintones in CAS, but no visual issues with the ones I did look at.

Love these changes. I much prefer Linnie's look and usually drop Cara altogether, but I'd play with this version.

That's probably just because WW has to be updated to be compatible with the new skintones. EA skintones used to work fine for penises for me, it was only certain CC skintones that had the black penis.

Okay, that sounds very promising then! Means I won't have to reupload most old sims simply to fix the skintones, though I'll do some of the recent ones right quick I think, because with them there probably won't be anything else I need to update. 

 

Also means I won't have to do something ridiculous like screenshot all sims with CC skintones before I update so I have reference pictures when I try to recreate their old skintones. I do think I'm probably going to just drop CC skintones all together.

WW replaces (most of) the default skin tones, so I guess you're right, though technically that's still CC. I have 4 defaults that are not replaced, and they still don't work. It's because the part of the skin tone texture that maps to the penis is black by default, and has to be colored.
