Since it seems it was never established precisely how he was related to Nick and Bert, I chose to make him their cousin. That's a pretty good "vaguely related" family member.

My assumption is that what you do when you create a sim is: you create it, dump it into one of the starter houses, probably the same house most of the time because a lot of them have the exact same amount of money, about 5500-something, and then proceed to cheat their age, skills etc., and then immidiatly save them to your gallery. Am I far off? If you just create them in CAS (as most people who want to export them as a blank slate without skills would do) and then save they will indeed always have 20 000 + 2000 per additional sim. But money is saved as well as skills, fame etc., so if you need or want to place them first to develop them beyond what you can do in CAS, as you do,, and you think it is relevant, you should cheat them the amount of money you think is appropriate as well (not just what they should have in their pocket, but also the amount it would take for them to buy /build an approriate house). On my side I just do it myself, but I guess it could confuse people who aren't used to using cheats in character setup, and I also use freerealestate on to move them into appropriate housing. The important thing to remember though is that it is only household funds, not total wealth, so the value of the house isn't added to their money, only what they have in liquid assets. Sim inventory and relationships outside of the household aren't saved either. 1

Am I far off? Almost. It's not a starter house though, but a kind of photo studio which I use to set up all my sims and take the portrait and outfit lookbook pics.
mrrakkonn Posted June 21, 2020 Author Posted June 21, 2020 "Alfonso Alto's Love Triangle" I mentioend in the post describing my take on the Alto family that I chose to exclude Alfonso's wife Lopita as I wasn't done with her and wanted to finish the rest of the whole love triangle he has going on in the Sims 3. Turned out I managed to finish that up pretty fast, so here it is. This is closer to the towneis and NPC sims I've made and uploaded before, not alot of outfits and a short description post without the lookbooks. I've mostly made these sims for the purpose of having them in my world. At the moment the characterization sort of follows what can be gleamed from the wiki. Lopita Ojeda is Alfonso Alto's gold-digging wife, she is unemployed and is not Ashley Alto's biological mother. In addition to being married to Lopita, Alfonso is cheating on her with Florita Hernandez, who is the ex-wife of Teodor Molina. They have a daughter together, Palmira Medina. I aged Palmira up to a child (because I think the world will do better with homeless child than toddler sims, who don't really do much). Teodor and Florita are married in this household, for convenience, when I put them into the world I will split them up. They currently have the same careers they had in Sims 3, that is Teodor is in the sports career and Florita is in the business career. This might change when it comes time to put them in my world. But I've not yet decided. I'm toying with the idea of having Teodor "own" a bar (that is having him be the bartender) and mention him being squeezed out by Alfonso Alto. Could work but we'll see. In addition to a household including these sims I've also included the tray files for an additional version of the Alto family which includes Lopita as Alfonso Alto's husband and Ashley Alto's step-mother. Kashked Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 So I've done the setup for your Alto's now in my world, only awaiting Alfonso's wife (edit: and as I wrote that you posted them, lol). I think I'll have Bert marry Virginia Buckingham at some point (I only have her since I am using the original Sims 4 Landgraabs, with some of my own extensions in my world). I added a son for Nick as well, based on the family I retconned out of my world, Reynaldo (mean and active), who is 13 and is going to take over from Nick one day, since Holly doesn't really fit that role. I'm not married to the idea of basing the family totally on Sims 3, since I don't care about that game. But your version was superior in every way so I'd rather have it than what I came up with anyway. Also I edited around some traits, added a few tatoos and other minor changes I felt where fitting, and changed Holly's hair to a natural brown. Going to have to spend some time re-doing the apartment in Alto Tower though, since that was based on a different version of the Altos and doesn't 100% fit any longer. Then I'm going to have to decide wheter I want to make Nick an crime boss or not. For gameplay I feel that sometimes you just need your sims to bugger off into a rabbithole sometimes, because playing with them all, all the time, is damned exhausting!

I actually generated a son (older than the one you've done) for Nick and Vita as well, After generating off genetics, I based him on Joey Leone from GTA III (and edited him a bit to get a little bit of a resemblance) who's the son of a major mob boss, but is more into petty crime and his auto-repair shop than the mob business. Anyway I couldn't finish or fit him in properly, so I left him out for now. I might still do something with him. I could use him as an additional Alto cousin or possibly a relative from Vita's side of the family (a nephew or something maybe). Expanding on Vita's side of the family could also be an interesting way to fit in the Frankie Fusilli, who I posted WIP pictures of on the last page, and who I am loosely basing on a combination of Frankie Fusilli from the Sims 2 handheld game and Tony Cipriani from GTA 3. 2

I just get a vibe, which would explain why they didn't have kids until they were 30, which is why I went for the teens-route rather than give Holly an older brother. Btw, what timescale do you use when deciding their ages? I have found that it is almost exact, down to never being off with more than a day or two for adults, but wildly out of whack for teens I've downloaded from you. For example, by my custom lifespans Nick was 45,5 years old when I loaded him in, while Holly was 17,5. But I assume you use vanilla lifespans, so this is really a "me"-problem and I realise that. It's just that in vanilla the proportions are WAY off, and all the kid stages, from baby to teen, are way too long, proportional to the total lifespan of a sim, assuming that the average age for death from old age is 82, based off the US average lifespan. One of the main problems with the worldbuilding in the Sims 4 is that there are no relations or relatives outside the households. So when you want to build a world there should be some siblings strewn about in other households to give you that "lived in" feel to the world. While it's not open world, and I imagine that pretty much everyone who play rotationally in a save have aging off for unplayed, it just feels right that some of the sims have siblings, uncles, cousins etc. As an world ages this will come about naturally, but it takes A LONG time if you play with +50 households like me, and requires some coordination so someones cousin who should be their own age isn't still an baby when you hit elder! I'll be honest and say I'll probably never play your world though, I'm WAY too invested in my own now for anything but total and irreversible save corruption to make me consider leaving it.

Pretty simple one really. I've sort of decided on the age ranges more or less (though a bit vague with the toddlers and children, as I haven't paid that much attention there). Essentially it's like this Child: 6-12/13? years Teen: 13/14-18 years Young adult: 18-36 years Adult: 36-60 years Elder: 60+ years I decide on an age and convert that into sim days by looking at their "progress" towards the next age phase and just put that into sim days. So a 27-year old is half of the way towards being an adult by my assumption and with normal lifespans that would translate into 12 sim days (since the YA phase is 24 days total). This means that a year as a teen corresponds to more sim days than is the case with young adults, and similar for young adults and adults. It doesn't really bother me too much that it doesn't quite match up.

In gameplay "ambitious" is related to career advancment, and they feel more like golddiggers/stay-at-home wives, so I think materialistic would have fit them better.

It's based on them being ambitious in the Sims 3. I kind of agree with you though. On a different note, I just reuploaded a slightly updated version of Sabrina Kane. Small changes. New skin detail (only really visible on butt and navel), new outfit (bunny girl) and brought in line with my new height slider "settings". Here's a picture of the new outfit. I'll also be updating and reuploading Lauren Tan (who's seen a couple more changes than Sabrina, but is till more or less recognizable, so it should only come down to updated CC list and some changed or added outfit pics). Reason being that they, including an updated version of a much older sim, will be going into the next version of my world and I decided that I might just as well reupload them when I got around to it. Also probably going to get on with uploading the new girl as soon as I'm done with reuploading Lauren, here's a picture of what she looks like. So yeah, that's next. Even though I don't assume everyone is playing using my world, it's still a pretty good framework for me to base my sim uploads on, making and updating what I need to get done for the next version. Still only the first version (Pleasantview more or less) of that is available, but I'm working on the next version which will center around the Landgraab and Alto families as well as including a bunch of other sims around them. EDIT; Reuploaded Lauren as well, skin detail changes, cleavage, new sneakers and high-heeled shoes, several outfit changes and additions. CC list and height updated to new standards.

They're realistic but still fit with the maxis look. I also REALLY appreciate how you don't stuff defaults and overrides into your cc bundles. Keeps me from having to sift through things as much or risk messing up my game. 1

I actually created her before Lauren and Sabrina. With me now using the language barriers mod by Frankkk, I've taken to use that to set up some of my sims as having different national backgrounds (or just knowing different languages). With me liking how she looks in that beret, evne though it's a bit too obvious, I've decided I want to characterize her as being French, though with that not being a thing in the game or that mod at the moment I've set her up with the stand-in Italian language as her native language for now, though she also speaks Simlish and Windenburgish well also. Naomi's smart, confident and social, though she sometimes can get off on the wrong foot with people or argue her opinions with others a bit too vigorously. She used to attend university, earning a degree in biology. While a student did amateur modeling to support herself while studying and having both enjoyed the work and been approached by modeling agencies has chosen to make it her full-time career, after she completed her studies, as she thought having a university degree as a backup plan would help her later in life. I know I bugged you about character bios a few years back and I've always followed your galleries, but this immediately made me want to run Maryam in my game so I'm curious to know if I'm missing anymore. 1

Yeah I remember, it was a big part of the reason that I eventually started doing bios and thinking more about my sims' personalites Though I must still admit that there's still pretty big variation in how detailed they are between the different sims. All your sims are still super engaging and I'm grateful for that. I'm glad that we can pledge finally too. I also think it makes sense there's variety in bio length, no worries there from me. What we get is great. I understand on stories too, for sure. Maryam was great and I just booted up to move her into a home, but I imagine it must have taken forever to do. I'll take a look for the Alisha picture story for sure though, might get me running her in my game too. If you DO ever revisit the story format, it'd be pretty cool to get some more on Selda, Alice, Fiona, Megan, etc. That's me being selfish.

Some of them spawn with like 5000 or so but sometimes some of them are like negative 14k

As for missing items. I assume by intalling everything you have installed the shared CC and the CC for the sims themselves? Also check out the main download post as it also lists some mods I use that I have not included, mainly nude details, if you want those you have to add them in yourself. Missing items might also be from game packs and expansion packs, I've got a number of those (I don't have Moschino stuff, Strangerville, Magic, Tiny Living and Eco Living, among a couple of others, but most others I have) and I use items from those, so if you're missing thiose then the items will not load. Always recommend to load up sims in CAS and "fix" them so they fit in your game, for instance by editing or deleting outfits with missing items. Ah i see, i'm playing without most expansion packs or game packs so that makes sense. 1

This time we have three of the new firefighter NPCs, an additional mail carrier and two gardeners. You know the drill as regards these NPC sims by now, drop them into your world, make them homeless and don't play them. They'll show up (hopefully) doing the job they've been assigned to. They've got a simple array of outfits and have been set up with skills and traits as is appropriate to give them a bit of character. They've mostly got the names of NPCs from past games, though their appearance isn't ncessarily based on them. One of the firefighter sims (far right of above picture) was actually generated as the father of a currently unfinished sim, so this will probably be reflected in the future when I get to that sim. mrrakkonn Posted June 23, 2020 Author Posted June 23, 2020 So since I'm going to be included my strip club (fully staffed and operational) in the next version of my world, I'm updating (where necessary) and reuploading my stripper sims. For all of them this includes bringing them in line with my new height slider standards, taking out CC items that are now in the shared archive and setting their drug use autonomy for Basemental Drugs (how this worked was changed some time back, so they all lost their status as autonomous smokers). I've updated and reuploaded, Candace, Jana, Veronica and Victoria, Here's the changleog for that. Outfit changes (if not minor) are shown in the lookbook. Some of the bio pictures are now sort of out of date, but I'll accept that for now. Quote 6/23/20: Reuploaded Candace Flynn: Body edits (butt shape), switched out everyday and hot weather necklace (shown in face picture), changed swimwear and cold weather outfit, added halloween costume. 6/23/20: Reuploaded Jana Rosales - Changed stripper outfit, 6/23/20: Reuploaded Veronica Guajardo - No notable changes. 6/23/20: Reuploaded Victoria Woodworth - Changed stripper outfit, new top for first hot weather outfit Alisha is going to take a little while longer to reupload, because I've ended up giving her a bit more thorough makeover, which includes several of her outfits, her makeup and her skintone (which was always a bit too gray and flat in color, so I'm trying a different one). I'm going to have to redo the post for her with new pictures when I'm done, but it shouldn't be too long. I'm also going to be uploading a new stripper sim (to round out the number of sims working at the club), which will be a sim I recently stumbled into almost finishing a sim somewhat loosely based on Mazuiko Jackson from the Urbz. Might need a bit more work on her, but she's pretty much done actually. 3

However, my world has lots of your sims living in it. I have a question about the reuploaded versions. Do they have the same Tray Ids and if they do, when you override the old ones, will the sims in game see the changes automatically? Thanks. 1

Unfortunately not, for all intents and purposes they're different sims as the game understands it. You have to replace the existing versions with the new versions if you want that. An option might be to use the MCCC feature to paste a tray sim onto a sim in your world, though I'm not really familiar with how well that works.
