Speaking of armours, which leads me to clothing, there's 4 sets of mashups done by FrozenMemories.

Here's a link to her mods:  https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/5845165?tab=user+files

Worth checking out if you're bored with  your wardrobe.

Couldn't find FG bodyslide preset for any of them.

Looking at 'Cross - CoA' it doesn't make much sense to me. We already have several mods for the CoA. The basic armors look a bit worn down, 'Atom Girl' follows that trend and the 'CoA Fanatics' also got an armor set. Add to that the mod for the PA and the CoA got more than enough options for their faction.

Will remove 'Cross - CoA' with the next update as well.

PMC is completely redundant and i'll remove it with the next update. It simply makes no sense to have several mods that add almost the same armors. Updating the post for changes.

Removed the PMC keyword from patches.

To a point. depends on whoever is playing might want marpat or woodland bdu, since in game the army fatigues are what the gunners looted from bases. But if someone is playing that was a marine, they may want to see marpat in game. Should be a texture preference personally, but eh.

Edit: i found my culprit on the corrupted save issue. it was not NAS but it is just script heavy enough to make the problem seem like it was the issue. the mod Raider pet was what was putting the null script into the saves and causing the CTD on save load.

@jaeos

The mod got several options for the textures (like woodland). ?

But to be honest i have no clue how the uniforms are handled by the different branches in the US. Besides i can only work with the mods we got available so there will always be some differences.

Taking a look at 'Robert Maccready' (just about to recruit him). Luckily it can be flagged as ESL.

Looking good and will be added. Done

When I played Skyrim I used Devious Devices, which was....(ahem) useful.  So I thought I'd try it here.  BUT...it requires AWKCR to run on FO4.  I know how we all feel about that particular mod, so I thought I'd look around to see how AWKCR could be removed.

Sure enough, I found a tutorial here.  It needs xEDIT, and changes to only two lines.  Poof!  No more dependancy on AWKCR, and anything that can be crafted is now done on the Chem bench under Utility.

Now, this doesn't create a new ESP we can call an AWCKR remover.  It edits the original file, so make sure you keep a backup.

Pretty much each branch has their own pattern, just so they can say they have their own pattern from what i can tell.

I use AWKCR along with armorsmith and weaponsmith. It makes alot of the clothing mods viable, or even preferable in some situations since you can tailor each piece to what is is protecting you from. And with these physics knock downs going on, the more armor you have, the better chance you have of getting up and fighting back. Weaponsmith just gives better options for things like a 10x leopold scope needing a perk in sniper to create.

My real problem with AWKCR is that it is bloated and bugged.  It hasn't been updated in years, and the only support the author is giving is little mods to remove things.  More to add to the load order.  I have no doubt it has it's uses, but weighing the pros and cons, I personally would rather not use it.  And I realise I didn't make my real intention clear.  Devious Devices was the only mod I had that needed AWKCR.  I wasn't going to add it for the sake of one mod, and it was easier to remove it's dependency than trust AWKCR not to screw with other things.  If it works for you, fantastic.  I'm not trying to tell anyone not to use it.  I'm just pointing out how to remove it from mods should whoever reads it decides for themselves AWKCR isn't for them.

i was only adding why did choose to use it, and its more for the armorsmith extended than anything else, and why i like armorsmith extended.

I think the reason it's so bloated is that author a asked for keywords for mod a, then mod b, then author j added in another 5 mods trying to be pinpoint accurate rather than {ranged rifle: sniper}. now it has an extra 20 keywords tagged and if i was the author i would just say fuck it, you asses wanted it all added in, now you want it all taken out. But thats what i think anyway.

The problem with AWKCR is that the OA tried to include everything without making it modular. And over time it just became a bloated mess. In the end it is impossible to please everyone as it then becomes a thing no one can really use.

It is the same with guides. I try to keep mine simple and still keep some options for the user. But i can't add too much to keep the guides usable.

Posted (edited)

Ah but here's what seperates your guides from the rest.  I've downloaded a few off Wabbajack, a couple of Nexus Collections.  In ALL of the there always seems to be a special patch or two which they give no details on but if you take one thing out of the game it all falls apart.  One of the masters for the patch isn't there so the path doesn't work.  But oh, look.... other things that depend on the patch also go tits up.

I see one patch in this list, and that's the normal Bashed Patch.  So kudos to Aylis for keeping the proprietary requirements out of it.

By the way, and I am genuinely asking for someone else - if they have a legal copy of FO4, but....um.....creatively acquired....Skyrim...Ol' Beth would know, hmm?  I thought so too.  I warned him but he listens to no one.  (sigh)

If creative acquisition ever becomes an issue (ie., Beth, Steam, etc. somehow won't let them play said game), then I offer up an alternative which would be cheaper alternative than paying full price. One should check out https://www.dlcompare.com for discounted games. At the time of writing, Skyrim is just under $8 for SSE and $15 for AE. Hope that helps in some way/shape/form at least somewhere down the line?

No problem @DarthNyriss ! I can personally say that I've used that site to buy some games I wasn't 100% sold on for super cheap. Just make sure that whatever place you purchase from says that the game is "unlocked" (for lack of a better term). Basically just make sure it is available for your region. For me, I have to make sure it is available for use in the US. Sometimes they are ONLY made for Europe (just as an example). That's kind of one of the downsides, but when it works...it's quite a beautiful thing ?

Looks like my PSU is dying.

Getting crashes as soon as i start anything that requires a bit more power than standard windows. Temps are totally fine (so thats not the issue), updated all drivers, crashes happen even with my old Ryzen 1600X  and i always get 'Power failure' in the system overview...

I only hope that the system will somewhat run the next 20 days (otherwise i'll go completely nuts ?).

Yeah, what does a psu cost over there anyway?

found a 750w evga here

In 'merican it's about 75$ if the exchange rate is current.

My intention is to get this PSU at the end of the month.

Mainly 'cause i had very good experiences with Corsair before (first time using BeQuiet atm) and i can later get predone sleeved cables for it.

Hey, just finished installing the mod list, and my sky has turned completely pink. Not sure what it's caused by (I know that it means it's missing textures, and that it's probably because there are mods competing for that slot which in the end makes it so there's nothing there at all). Using the REACTOR ENB, and followed it's install directions to a T. Disabled True Storms, Nothing Changed. Disabled Radiant Clouds & Fogs, nothing changed. Not sure what other mods fuck with the sky textures, other than the galaxies one, but that shouldn't change anything, especially since it's the daytime sky that's missing (didn't check nighttime so it's probably fucked too). Any Idea on what could be causing this?

NVM I found it. Was using your ESL - Flagged ESP, and it had a vivid weather esp in it, which I don't have vivid weather installed so it was overwriting the other weather mod with literally nothing.

Here is a decent review from Tom's Hardware for you to compare

FYI EVGA makes a damn good power supply , using Superflower to manufacture their spec.

Yep, but when it comes to replacements and RMA Corsair is the better choice for me. The Netherlands (here in Europe its where you have to send defective products to) are close. And when it comes to support and replacements Corsair is top. Last time i had to send something to them i didn't even need an invoice and still got a replacement.

They are quite expensive. But if you have an issue the support has been very very helpful over the years (same as the guys from 'Fractal Design').

Just saw that the RMX 750 isn't that expensive. I might go for that one instead. ?

I'm testing JSRS Sound Mod atm. Sounds quite nice but i have to patch almost every weapon for it.

Patches for tests:

JSRS Patch - GM6 Lynx.esp

JSRS Patch - M4 Pack.esp

JSRS Patch - Peacekeeper.esp

FFS Aylis. If you are lucky and get warning signs that your PSU is going to die you immediately replace that thing.

I 'only' had two of them fail on me so far, but both of them took out additional stuff that made it an expensive experience.

I wish i could.

At the start of the month i bought the first set of fittings (two more to go) for the planned watercooling so i can't afford a new PSU 'til the end of the month.
