Problem with long time saving in Skyrim.

I got a problem a couple days ago. While I was playing my game suddenly decided to take more than 2 minutes to save (which is incredibly enormous) including autosaves, quicksaves and manual saves. It also causes longer loading time when changing locations.

 

It happens every times even if I load a previous save. It doesn't happen when I create a new game (but with my character over 50lvl I just don't want to restart).

 

I already search for the same issue on internet but I just find (& try) solution for loading taking just 15s but it doesn't solve my problem. I didn't find something related to my "case" or I missed it (sorry if it's the case).

 

I also try cleansaver without success.

I've already tried to lower the number of save but it change nothing.

Do you really think there is a problem in the game??? Maybe ALL the mods grow uncontrollably???

I saved my game more than 2400 times and my savegame is about 40 megabytes but it takes me 5 to 10 seconds to read or save the game.

Probably you have save bloat and is caused by a problem in ONE mod. Look the size of yours savegames.

If the size of the ESS is greater than 50 mb probably you have save bloat. Use ReSaver to clean it.

If the size of the SKSE co-save is greater than 5 mb probably you have save bloat. Use NioCleaner to clean it.

 

If the size is normal or if you want know WHAT mod is causing the problem, compress one of your savegames(ESS + SKSE co-save) in zip format o similar and upload it. I can analice it.

But in my case, i'm playing the same character for 6 months, i'm level 115 now and of course i complete all quest from base game + dlc's plus all the quest of all my mods in two moths.

After that, i start to add mods and play it. But every mod you add increase the problems, the colission, the complexity, the time need for start the game, the load and save time....  And i want a game that load and save in less than 10 seconds. And the only way for make that is remove mods and clean the save.

In december 2018, near 3 months ago, i add to my game 13.3 gb of content. And of course, i made it over my actual gameplay. I play some of theses mods, like Rigmor and Vigilant. But i not want a super slow game overcharged by a lot of gigantics mods that i not want play or that i play it and i can not repeat. Then, i remove all theses mods, clean my game with ReSaver, install others mods and continue play.

 

Anyone can do what I do, but they do not dare because when they have done it they have had problems. I say it every day. Those things can be done because I do them and I do not have any problems. You just have to dare and learn.

Personally, I have only ever had to start a new game because of something I have done. I prod and poke my game continually and sometimes something doesn't work and I screw up. I don't blame Bethesda, Skyrim or mods - hell, I don't even blame me. I screw up, I fix it, I learn, I carry on.

You not have save bloat. Seem that you have a corrupted savegame. ReSaver can not load it.

I think you have a problem in SOS because my game crash in SchlongsOfSkyrim.dll when i try load it.

Probably, that mean a problem in the installation of SOS in your game.

If i disable SOS i can load your savegame in 10 or 15 seconds and i see your character for 1 or 2 seconds, in a black leather costume from DD, and my game made CTD. 

 

Looking your mods list i see some SOS and your problem can be in HDT and can be caused by FloppySOS.

Revise the version of SOS and FloppySOS and be sure they are compatible.

In last option, try disable all yours SOS mods, load the savegame WHITOUT SOS and save it again.

Try clean the new savegame with ReSaver and load the cleaned save. If all works good is an evident problem with the information stored by SOS inside the savegame.

Floppy SOS would have been my prime suspect. I remember reading bad things about it a long time ago which made me stop using it.

If you have this problem ONLY from some days ago maybe is better correct your installation of SOS and load a savegame from 3 days ago whitout the corruption.

Remember that clean the savegame is dangerous, everybody say it, but i never had a problem for ussing ReSaver.

You might want to consider removing the Bad Dog schlong core mod also. Most of the active scripts are attached to that. after cleaning it your save is back down to 386

coc qasmoke vanilla, about 20-30 sec for me

coc qasmoke when i add summerset isle, 60 sec if i remember right

coc qasmoke with full load order, 90 sec

 

this have nothing to do with the save since no save involved

 

the save is just edit of the load order

you kill something, it get dead flag or something, and is put in your save, for 30 days (world reset)

you enter whiterun, aela is load, she is no longer in the same place she was at game load, she is put in the save

you fus do rah in a house, many furniture are no longer where they were, they are put in the save

you speak to x, that dialog is put in the save, it become grey if you talk again to that npc (with mods like 3dnpc that have lot of blabla, save become big, that doesn't matter)

 

 

my save was already 10mb at the beginning, it's big for some?

when about everything was done, it was 40 mb

then i start getting rid of the mods i no longer had any use for (northern encounter add a big crab somewhere, mod x add a dongeon there, you can't get in the dungeon if you keep northern encounter, lot of problems like that if you keep all mods)

save drop to 20mb (because whatever i did in those mods -> deleted)

 

20mb it's still huge save for some?

 

what are your dragonborn and dawnguard esm size?

my esm are fine, have just delete empty worldspace

you can't start windhelm arena because that stuff is unfinished ->deleted, same for the attacks on carriage you never saw (someone want to finish that stuff?), or the attacks from the losing side of the civil war (they are still around for that, but that stuff is unfinished, so they are just there for you to kill them if you feel like it)

 

 

if you start having problems after a few dozen hours of play, it have nothing to do with the number of mods you use, or the size of your save

you have just install mods randomly without checking anything, mod a and mod b overwrite the same thing, you need a patch

mod a overwrite something that is already in your save, you had to start your new game with mod a for that to work (or to delete that something from your save before loading the game with mod a, it's dangerous to delete stuff from the save)

 

 

nobody have ask op if he use a ssd or a hdd?

if hdd max on skyrim performance monitor is 1mb/sec, and the save is 50mb, it's 50 sec to save

when he start a new game and save is 5 mb, it become 5 sec, but that will become 50 sec again when more stuff get in the save, so restarting is useless

that save is 982 hours old, and it's fine

i had a few stack dump trying some mods, there is no leftover, because i didn't bother trying to fix that mess, back to save before that mod and problem solved

 

 

civil war stuff that is supposed to set global value to x was dump, global value isn't x as required for something later

quest something stuff that is supposed to send npc x somewhere was dump, you won't find npc x where he is supposed to be, you can't finish that quest

etc etc, anything that was dump during those stack dump, is potentially broken, and running your save in savegamecleaner won't do anything about that (that thing just delete leftover from mods that are no longer there, it won't do stuff that wasn't done)
