Minor update to g1mtools, 0.4b (file in page 26).

 

Only a minor fix for g1m2fbx: for some costumes, the bone names would appear with their id (like ID_000) and not with the names (like root), because the costume.oid file wasn't being loaded for those. That's because my "algorithm" to detect if a .g1m file is a costume or not wasn't very accurate. It will be better now, all costumes should have the bone names now (except for bones without known names like ID_800-831 in kasumi default costume).

Can I ask what tool and extension(Fbx,vb,ib) of vagonumero13 did you use to convert your mesh model into g1m?
And after creating g1m,which you do you use to insert g1m into (REDELBE or rdb editor)

I use (and without doubt recommend) EBLEDER. And so far I'm working with a mix of  vagonumero13's g1m tools; fbx only for some specific tasks and handle some poses (the weights from these models aren't compatible with the game).

so which tool of g1m do you use to create g1m

so far I only see g1m2fbx and there is no fbx2g1m so I am not sure how to make new g1m

But you're missing other 2 important tools (g1m_export,  g1m_import). I of course use "g1m_import" for rebuild a g1m. The usage is clearly explained here

You can literally search for "4D" in the script to find the two lines you need to disable - just change them to say "pass" instead.

 

But I haven't checked whether this is safe - the meshes import fine with this change, but I haven't checked if there are issues exporting them, so make sure that works before you spend time on them.

EDIT: I just tried it, and I get them imported, but those soft parts so distorted beyond recognition that there's nothing that can be done with them, but thanks anyway.

Short story of the name of the tool: If rbd is REBELDE, then rdb is REDELBE, simple logic. ?

It was better than the alternative name of "Resource Data Base virtualizer".

Absolutely amazing job! It's a great start for sure and I know it would take a looooot of hard work and hassle but it would be wonderful if it was possible in the future to have different breast size and shape and nipples color on different girls

Thanks, it was my mistake! Somehow I forgot to put MPR_Muscle_Character_LEICOS007_body_kidsalb.G1T file in the MaterialEditor folder while distracted with work and other things. Thanks for your contributions to DOA6 mods!

I do not want to see Marie with wrong breast size like the Beach Paradise mod on DOA5LR.

So - I'm hoping someone can help me out.

 

I'm trying to modify some normal maps... Nothing crazy.

  • Extract G1T from RDB - Check
  • Convert G1T to DDS - Check
  • Edit DDS in Photoshop - Check
  • Save DDS (Might be the issue) - Check
  • Convert DDS to G1T - Check
  • Repack G1T into RDB - Check
  • Launch Game - Check
  • Select Character - Check
  • Load Fight - Infinite Load.... Shit.

So I think I might be saving the DDS Normal Map incorrectly? Can anyone tell me what settings to use while saving the Normal Map DDS file as before converting it back to G1T?

Can someone provide a simple tutorial on how to edit textures with the rdb tool?

 

What am I looking to extract and how to I edit them? Do I want the g1t files? Or something else?

 

Okay so I extract the files I want (g1t) now how do I get them to DDS for editing in Photoshop?
