I've had issues with that area myself and I don't use nearly as many mods. The solution I hit on--and which doesn't always work--is to turn the Particle Count using BethINI to the minimum before it hits zero (which would render rune spells invisible). It seems that the western third of Skyrim as a whole has some serious memory issues and high graphics loads can aggravate it further.

 

And as folks said in the A Forsworn Story thread, your ENB settings could also be an issue.

You also have a lot which add a large amount of content to the game, e.g. the Wenches, INPCs, SFO, AFS.

I believe "RaceMenuPluginXPMSE.esp" is to allow certian things to be morphed through the RaceMenu mod using the XPMSE skeleton, the fact that you're wondering what that is though is telling me that its probably not nessicary. I didn't even know about the rag dolls esp not being unnecessary anymore.

 

With regards to NIOVHH, skimming through the change logs for Racemenu I see several mentions of fixes or updates of NiOverride, so that might be the case. I'll try removing that esp file to see what happens.

what you can do is kinda labour-intensive, but load ALL your mods in xEdit, set to filter for conflicts, and look to see what is changing the cell. that might at least tell you where to look.

Grey Cloud knows your MNC is out of date because it loaded the SexLab Nude Creature .esp's. You need the SLAL version found here:

 

Make sure you CAREFULLY follow the directions. They are not difficult but they are particular. If you are confused by them MadMansGun has kindly posted a separate installation guide for MNC. This is certainly the first thing you need to try since it has caused similar problems for others (although usually near Whiterun and/or Windhelm).

A couple of points I missed last night.

You are approaching the plug-in limit which is never a good thing.

Not a game-breaker but there is now Summermyst which is the update of Wintermyst.

 

I might be wrong about NIOVHH and got it confused with NIOverride.

 

AHZmoreHUD.esp, etc. You have 5 mods just for the HUD and UI.

 

I can tell it's the old version of MNC because you have SexLab Nude Creatures in there. Either that or you have the new version of MNC and SNC did not remove itself. Latest version of MNC is 11b AFAIK.

 

I'm a great believer in less is more. I'm also always prepared to meet Skyrim half-way. This means that I would not run 5 HUD/UI mods; umpteen weather and lighting mods; then add lots of content adding mods until I neared the plug-in max and then expect things to go smoothly. I certainly wouldn't try to mix and match two ENBs.

Mods have to sit up and beg if they want one of my plug-in slots and I always try for one mod which gives me more than one benefit.

 

As an example. I use Kwanon ENB because 1. I like the look and 2. it does not not require umpteen weather and lighting mods. The only lighting mods I use are RelightingSkyrim-NoScripts and Natural Lighting and Atmospherics. I can see what I'm doing, day or night, inside or out  without lanterns, torches or magelight. I use SCO Summer Edition and a mod to make the weather the same everywhere so my Skyrim is permanent sunshine.

 

I've never experienced any particular problem with the Karthspire area or the Reach so I can't think what might cause problems there. Assuming you have your various ini files configured corrrectly (and I would double-check), I would suggest that you:

1. try things with one ENB on the go.

2. have a long, hard look at your plug-ins and see what you can remove or change for something better.

3. make the updates to MNC etc.

4. CTDs are seldom if ever caused by mod conflicts so looking at things in TESVEdit will probably not do much good.

 

You will need to start a new game in order to ensure a clean save with no hangovers from before the changes. You might want to consider installing Alternate Start Live Another Life to make starting new games less of a chore.

Thanks for your analysis. I have already started looking at some of the things you've pointed out. Apparently I don;t need NiOheels installed, as when I removed that esp file everything continued to work as expected.

 

This part made me laugh, by the way because it made me think about things from a different perspective and kind of pointed out how ridiculous of a request on the game I'm making.

I use NMM so if e.g. I deactivate the NIOHH plug-in, anything which relies on it would go orange. I assume MO has a similar function. Also LOOT give an error if something is missing a master and last but not least, Crash Fixes will jump in with a message and abort the game load.

 

When you uninstall a mod, check if there are any dependencies or requisites for the mod which you can also remove. It is easy to forget about these and they can accumulate over time.

 

With big quest mods such as AFS (or anything by Delzaron) install it, play it and then uninstall it (once you've finished with that game).

I love Delzaron's mods but he always goes too big, too soon and releases an unfinished monster.

Also, yes I have noticed that at least with AFS, it has well over 1,000 new scripts, I can only imagine that, that must put a lot of added strain on the system.
