i have encountered a bug about a year ago with mjoll that i still cant seem to find a fix for and i was curious if anyone might know how to solve it. mjoll is the only npc i have experienced this issue with! i recruited her a long time ago and dismissed her, she stopped following me but uses dialogue as if shes still following me so i cant ask her to follow me i can only tell her its time to part ways.

i use my home is your home to make her live in one of my harthfire  homes so she is currently there, i have even tried using the recycleactor command but no success. any help would be appreciated

Your post doesn't make much sense.

Are you saying you are using the same save from a year ago?

If she has stopped following you and only has dialogue to part ways, how can you put her in one of your homes?

The obvious suspects would be any mod which alters Mjoll and any follower multi-mod you use.

i think you've just misunderstood me. i never said i couldn't recruit her and put her in a home, i already put her in a harthfire home before i ran into that issue, using MY HOME IS YOUR HOME. and yes im using the same save i have had for years so i haven't started over with another profile or anything. the only issue my game has is mjoll, the multi follower mods i use would be bijin npc's which alters mjoll and i have mods that alter dialogue such as eager npc's but nothing that only alters mjoll. as stated before i she is the only follower having this issue and i have absolutely NO mods that have a impact on just mjoll alone.

I believe that what GREY CLOUD meant by follower multi-mods was actually Multi-Follower Mods like "Simple Multiple Followers, Extensible Follower Framework, Amazing Follower Tweaks, Ultimate Follower Overhaul and other such mods".

I suspect that something more is broken in your save. ?

Since you say that you live with that thing for more than a year (RL?),I would guess you shifted and changed your setup a bit around and it will probably too late and impossible to get down to the true cause today .

Things like your situation CAN happen if in that certain situation your Skyrim/Papyrus was loaded beyond all good measures ( you probably would find stackdumps, IF you would have stored a log from that day) and my best guess is that Mjoll AT LEAST is not part of the proper factions anymore.... And it is highly probable that even more is broken, but under the surface and just not visible for you right now.

Why do I point to factions:

AFT and IAFT rely much on factions and if a script is not completing it's task, you may end up in a situation like yours.

Yes I did. It was late here when I typed that. :)

is there a way to fix that in creation kit or something. if there is nothing that can possibly be done then...well...damn. i tried to get help with that issue a year ago (RL) but no one knew what the issue was. one person said that bugg with mjoll happened before and there still wasn't a fix for it

The creation kit won't help you with something that manifests itself in your save game.

IF I am correct with my suspicions about a lost faction:

  1. you could try to understand the mechanics in AFT
  2. you could double check this in game with Mjoll if the suspicion was correct
  3. console addfac with the right ID and parameter and -1 if it would be necessary to remove her from one faction

? can't think of anything better

I have a question. Why are you using My Home is Your Home? I've never used AFT but with UFO or EFF you can assign a follower a new home. Is your "bug" simply two mods conflicting? If you hang around here you'll come to know I have a "thing" about older mods and this one is old. I'd be curious to know how your game played (and Mjoll acted) without it.

thank you for the advice i'll try to disable it and see. i had to use my home is your home because im using aft and the aft mcm, i like how aft lets you change their combat and manage the followers outfit so i couldn't use it with ufo or eff, i'll disable it and see what happens. i'm hoping it bares fruit because i definitely don't know about how aft funtions or where on the net to start just to learn lol and im still trying to figure out the creation kit. im a novice there but i just recently started with that.

Well, if that works, you might want to try EFF (based on what you just listed as the options that you are looking for).

I don't intend to mislead you. I have no (zero) experience with AFT. I have considerable experience with EFF and UFO and have found EFF to be superior.

well the steps i took to fix mjoll definitely didn't work but i may give eff a try anyway later. can you also set their stats with it, such as just how many points of damage their melee does or their movement speed? curious if you can or not, i used aft along side the aft mcm mod which added setting like that for each follower managed by aft in combination with follower live package which also has a aft patch. i really like the sound of eff and i see when teaching a follower spells you can literally pick which hand they use that spell in if i'm correct? aft only allowed you to teach them the spell and that made it very difficult at times to get spell swords to actually use their sword depending on how much magicka they had

I've primarily used EFF for managing equipment and combat tactics. I am unaware of being able to "tweak" a follower's damage dealing (I always do that by adjusting their weapon). You can control in what manner they follow you, as in how close, but again, I am unaware of adjusting their movement speed as I would not have been interested in changing it. EFF does give you tremendous control over HOW they fight. It also allows you to "reset" what they consider home. So, for instance, you can move all your housecarls to Dragonsreach, take them on an adventure, dismiss them and they will all return to Dragonsreach.
