Game Just Won't Start! What Happened?

I may have traced this down to the 'ol D3D9.dll / Win 10 nonsense, which I don't get because I've been playing happily with my ENB for a long time. Then suddenly...   But whatever.

 

The Windows Update from Oct. apparently fixes the 4GB RAM limit, so i'm working on that part.

It sounds to me like someone is missing masters or is trying to load too many animations. Maybe they haven't used Crash fixes or ENBoost. Maybe they are unfamiliar with the glories of LOOT and FNIS? I have to admit that, like Donttouchmethere, I just don't get that. ?

Thanks Psalam. I found that earlier, which led me to the Win 10 update - I'd forgotten about MS addressing the 4G vid limit thing. Why all of a sudden this became an issue is beyond me, but it did. I think i'm making progress...

I hope it goes faster for you than for me. It took me about 2 weeks of back and forth before it worked properly on a regular basis.

It's always been like that, and, no it's not too many animations, or missing masters, I do have crash fixes and ENBoost (and they are set up correctly and to the letter) and I know how to use LOOT and FNIS, and my PC is far beyond what's necessary for that game. Crash Fixes helped for a while, then after that Windows "Fall Creator Update" in October 2017 it became worse than it was before Crash fixes.

 

Fallout 4 on the other hand is completely stable and crash free, no matter what I do. I can start it up as soon as I finish this post, and play it for 15 hours straight without so much as a stutter.

That is really sad! I have a much inferior machine and can play Skyrim for 15+ hours without a hiccup. It's been a long time since I had a crash. And I am not alone. Virtually anyone who regularly shows up to offer advice on this Technical thread has said the same thing at one time or another. If you'd like to start a thread and give us a load order, I'm certain that there are a number of us who would share their experience with you so that you can enjoy Skyrim as much as we do.

Well, I'm offically living in Hell!  I simply cannot get LE to stay running on my rig and and had to move to SE.  The PC / NPCs look like shit (and that's with an ENB!), 3/4's of RaceMenu's sliders don't work, I can't get the stupid CBP boobs to work...  it's like being back in 2012, but with better landscape graphics. This is absolutely HORRIBLE!

That appear problems in skeleton and body model... but i presume you already know it... Reinstall xpmse and cbbe or unp.

But i think CBP is only for SE... You want start a new SE??? or you want recover your LE

GM - Yeah, I went over to SE...   ...I reinstalled XPMSSE and the body, etc., and the fact is, I just think this game sucks.  At least for now. Maybe when characters don't look like dog shit (shadows are horrible even with an ENB) and HDT-SMP gets figured out I'll go back.  Right now using it is like being in 2012 again.

 

So...  I'm going to try an LE install one more time and hopefully it'll "stick".  OK, maybe a few more times...     ...cuz I can't stand SE!

Hehehe...  Looking at it now!  This is so massively aggravating!  LE is my life!  Well, besides the wife, dogs, the house and the Vette.  ?   And thanks for the offer, it appreciated!
