TODAY I GOT BANNED FROM THE NEXUS AND I GOT SO PISSED FCK!

and nobody trust anybody anymore because a lot of people are getting digitally stabbed up the arse.

Sounds like they're all using 'Lovers' mod. :D

Anyway, since it's on topic, thought you all might like to look at the below blog.

First a sample:

They gave me three strikes all in a matter of minutes for each one of my forum posts (there's several combined in this set) and I was out. (I would show you more but I can't get back to the forum to copy them--I'm blocked even from looking at it. Ain't that a scream. I know, there's ways around it but once you escape from an insane asylum why would you ever want to subject yourself to that torment again. I just wish I had five cents for every click I gave them.)

And not once did anyone object by saying my words were a lie. Why? Because you can't argue with the truth--(and I never expected to be banned for telling the truth.) I was always careful with what I said--never calling people names, etc.

One last note of interest that occurred to me while writing this: My 'Premium Membership' had lapsed a short while before (a few weeks, a month?) on TesNexus and I hadn't gotten around to renewing it yet.

You don't think that because they weren't making any money off of me at that moment that they felt they had nothing to lose by banning me, do you?

Nahhhh.

Remember the story of David and Goliath?

My point being that, while TesNexus feels quite certain they delivered another triumphant victory for the bad guys, they may soon find it was a Pyrrhic victory in disguise...

I read all 18 pages and I've never been so fascinated in my life. Everything from banning, douchebag vampires, to tort law and EULA lawsuits. I love this place! I did want to mention that I have noticed a huge drop in uploads for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout NV for Nexus. It was the first place I ever found out about modding for these games and I love the way people are so creative and all the cool content they have. But lately......lest content. Few good ones worth downloading. then I found this place.....oddly enough it was mentioned in a comment on the Nexus. LOL. I like it here!

It actually seems sad to me that it would happily accept a mute non active member into it's community while shunning those that are at least trying to add life to the place.

Because we (yes I use we cause I am a ghost there too) don't judge or say a word. We go there for the sole purpose of downloading the mods, toss a thumbs up/down if we want, and leave. We don't get involved in the drama that goes on and speak our mind, we just simply get what we want and move on. At least, that is what I do.

After hearing all that goes on there, I'm glad I stick to the shadows and only just go there to download a few mods then leave. I don't express my opinions or anything and after reading here, I'm glad I don't. Most of my mods come from there and I don't feel like getting banned for saying something I shouldn't.

Sometimes I wish I could just buy out the Nexus and all its sites, fire all the mods, and instate trusted fellows from here.

I completely avoid saying anything on the Nexus because I fear I'll just get banned. That's not the kind of feeling you want to give your users. When so many people feel that way, you're doing something wrong, and if it's not fixed, everything will crumble and fail.

If anything, I hope to see this site grow to become something of a major competitor to Nexus, and become what the Nexus should have been, run by the people it should have been run by.

So, where's our Dragonborn for this problem?

Half an hour ago, I wanted to upload an image on the Nexus just to find out - I've been banned! What crap is this?

The moderator guy 'Buddha' gave this cryptic explanation:

You have crossed the line into child nudity with your images.

So now you are no longer welcomed here.

If parts are visible that shouldn't be it is pedophilia, and that always gets your ticket punched.

Funny thing is - not one of my pictures shows any nudity at all! There are also no pictures of children in my image section!

We had this discussion before - x117 characters might look young, but a fully developed woman (through the use of HGEC body) can't possibly be called a child!

Now I'm clueless what to do. Should I appeal the ban?

When I got banned before for my 'inappropriate', 'vulgar' username 'Poontank', the appeal worked and got me reinstated.

But this time it seems almost hopeless, the 'pedophilia' (wouldn't the proper term be 'child pornography'?) argument is too strong to refute.

I have always been extremely cautious what images to post there, if anyone doesn't believe me:

Take a look at the image section of the ex-member 'Poorthang' - not a single picture of a nude or even partially nude child in there!

WHAT DO?

Despite Nexus extreme shitty interface I managed to find your pics...

I haven't seen any kind of nudity but some pointy nipples or so. You pics are good looking for what it worths.

Let me be clear: to everyone his taste and a game toon is just a toon. It's hard to know when you cross the line and I, also, have some debatable part of my mod. I tried to justify everything in dialog but out of context it will seem inappropriate in several "civilized" country (as Vanilla Oblivion with rape and necrophilia is by the way).

I imagine the author of x117 justifies himself the same way and there's not that much more to say about it but...

But seriously? Those toons ARE looking exactly like a very pre-pubescent human, be it for the pointy ears and some tits. As much as banning you for it is largely overreacting and I will be on your side should my opinion matter to anyone; x117 looks like a children race to me.

Now, hosting clothes mods that makes children race appear sexy is Nexus' incoherence, like many...

Hope you're not pissed with me but I wanted to be honest, as you were.

It was a FLY robe. So it had an A-cup, what's the problem. Are women with less than a c-cup forbidden from working in the porn industry in the US? Heck, forbidden from having sex even? Also, if the image contained inappropriate content, then I guess anyone who posts pictures of FLY robes will get banned, because we can't post nudity, regardless of the child discussion.

Phew, I was out to grab some beers - which I normally never do.

So now, slightly sloshed, I have returned to find wonderful people reacting on my ban. Thank you guys!

It's true, I have posted a picture of a girl just wearing a belt over her underdeveloped breasts. Said belt is part of an outfit I downloaded from the very site this picture is hosted on. It was one of the first pictures I uploaded there, for more than two months nobody cared about it much.

It's interesting that once a guy posted a comment on it that can be classified as an apparent troll post and the uploader and one of his dearest friends react to it, a ban is executed. It can only mean that the author of the first comment got butt-hurt and reported the picture in retaliation. Why Nexus staff members are so eager to let themselves be instrumentalized for that kind of practice is beyond me.

Thank you EvenstarGW for helping me, risking your own membership for a guy you know for barely a month now. When I went out to drink a few hours ago, I was just utterly demoralized. Now my fighting spirit has returned, so I will appeal against the decision in any case.

It's just not right being banned despite the self-censorship I have been imposing on my images and abstaining from posting real nudity.

So I have been banned over what exactly? Twenty-five pink pixels that depict three millimeters of an Elf girl's nipple?! This is more than ridiculous! It just doesn't make neither Nexus rules look good/open-minded nor the people who are draconically enforcing these rules.

It sure casts a bad light on the whole site if they start banning people for that.

Edit: I wasn't aware of the fact this image of the Necromancer girl was the reason for the ban in post #182.

That's why I mentioned the 'fully developed woman', I thought the ban was for the picture of my Kitty character wearing an undie-broken (top removed) Hentai 'Kureha' outfit where I placed her weapon and her sleeves in front of her breasts as a means to censor the nudity - in order to avoid a ban. Practically the only one of my pictures that truly depicts nudity, despite not being visible.

Edit 2 - The Return (sounds like a great B-movie from the Eighties):

I just sent my appeal. Now it's up to the Nine Divine (Nexus moderators) to reinstate me.

I was polite and just stated all the facts involved in the situation in a calm and friendly tone. Let's see what comes out of it.

If they won't let me be a member of their wonderful site, I will accept it. I won't be able to really understand it, but I'll accept their decision.

It's their site and their absurd rules.

To me it's all a question of sponsor. It's the UK with American money so expect immature childish behaviour: big guns and story about raising the dead to destroy an entire village including children is ok but no nipple no sir!

Ok enough rant, I've said that too many times already :)

Keep us posted about your situation maybe we can help...

Cheers!

Thank you all for your support, I really appreciate it.

And thank you Grumpf for actually checking out my pictures and liking them. Did you know by the way (probably not) I studied and graduated in Belgium? I'm an illustration alumnus of the St.-Luc in Liège. I loved living in that city and met many great people there.

Well, at the moment (09:13 AM here), the appeal is still pending. Eagerly waiting for a reaction of the Nexus staff. It seems even Robin Scott himself is involved in this affair now, he will have the final word on it.

I will keep you informed about this one. If they won't take me back, I'm going to join a small but fine Oblivion site that had been recommended to me by a dear friend who is a moderator over there: TES Adventures (tesadventures.com). Just to have an alternate mainstream membership compared to this more adult-oriented/special interest site here where I also will stay active. In fact, I should become more active here, working to upload stuff on the Nexus took away a good part of my time.

Rest assured you haven't seen the last of me and my girls, the ones below and a lot of other cuties just waiting to please Oblivion fans.

Thank you cyb3r! Belgium rocks, I had such a good time back then (it was in the late Nineties).

My appeal has apparently been rejected, because a dear friend who mentioned me in a comment GOT BANNED FOR IT, TOO!

Not even for mentioning my username, just for the mere fact he expressed his sadness a user had been banned!

And this is what another modeRAT said about my appeal - notice the less-than-elegant writing:

The user in question was banned for uploading an image of a child character in revealing clothing. They are well aware of why they were banned but rather than admit their mistake they posted a wall of text with a somewhat hostile tone. This is not the first time this user has been banned from this site. Given that they can't see the problem of showing an image of a practically naked child is, they probably aren't welcome back. It doesn't matter how skilled they are.

If the mod in question is inappropriate, it should have been reported so it could be removed. Just because something is on this site doesn't mean it's worksafe or has gone approval of site staff. users should still use their own head in regards to what is and is not appropriate to post.

So writing a perfectly formatted chain of arguments is a 'wall of text' to them. My tone was absolutely calm and polite - a 'hostile tone' to them. The first ban was because of my former username! Completely disregarding anything I said about the x117 races, calling a fully clothed character 'practically naked', considering humble me a collective of several persons... Why did I even bother to write anything to be reinstated? I don't want to be a member of such a 'community' anymore, they impressively prove to me they aren't worth a second thought, and certainly not worth the membership on their precious site of morally infallible godlike beings. Oh, and sorry for using someone else's head. It felt so good!

Bye, Nexus. Have fun reveling in your glory. I should never have been a member there, I feel dirty for the time I wasted there...

Should have made some more comics with 'practically naked' characters instead.

Now I got banned for defending PT... All I did was comment on a FLY gear mod he used to submit pics to that usually became main mod pics. Voiced my irritation about his ban, and encouraged remembrance of his talent. Didn't take the moderfags long to delete the post and kiss me upside the cranium (with an aluminum baseball bat my name is mud) ....I mean with the banhammer. Sorry, that song popped in my head. Anyway, first ban and b/c of a comment, so I made a different account over there and will lay low. May grab mods, but keeping my mouth shut over there.

Yes, apparently that's the kind of members they prefer (even moreso if you pay for premium ofc). Judging from moderators that sport "Ban! Humbug!" as their posting rank. It feels to me like they're wrecking the community, making more and more people afraid to post anything at all, speak their minds. Opinions are not appreciated, if you have one, BEGONE! Showing concern for others? Well then you must be just as bad so lets not take any risks and ban you as well. I'm surprised they haven't banned me over this, I suppose my luck was that I voiced my concern in a PM. I fear the site may slowly turn into nothing more than a place to dump and grab mods, quietly. That's a sad development for modding in general, as communication is one of the most basic requirements for improving quality.

Sadly this is how I feel too. I tried to be nice in the modder's forum but was feeling watched all the time.

i think here will be the same, if the idiots came here and start attacking modders in there own upload page.. Well constructive criticism ok, demeaning to modders isn't ..

Also attacking a moderator is an in-stand bann anywhere. We are just lucky those flamers hasn't visited here yet. If they did, they we would have our own bann thread too..

Ugh more anime...put some of the more practical styles with more realistic-aimed textures, and I'll DL. Otherwise, I won't.

Just because you don't like it, move on.. What he said here could easily turn into flame wars.. If you don't like it,there is also a way to not download, look for something else.. That was not a very constructive criticism..

Why do people bother giving a crap about where models came from? I'm so tired of people complaining that some mods are illegal and that they should be taken down. Oh boo hoo someone is providing free services for me for no profit. Just enjoy the mods and shut up. Who cares if they were ripped or not. In fact I'd prefer ripped models because then they'd look perfect.

Here is another example that would have damaged any real modders, this guy would simply rip anybody mod, and then also tell them to shut up ??

I know they can be pretty strict at nexus, but some of these banns are actually justified, also some of them don't however..

Well there is this mod that i converted for fallout and posted it in nexus its already growing with 111 endorsements and 951 downloads.

Then out of nowhere without any warning' date=' they deleted my file and closed my account.

Their reason is i have no real permission.

I credited the original authors and made them as the original creators of the mod,

How do they expect me to get a permission from a UN-Active modder i mean years inactive modder.

FCK!!!!

Screw them those pseudo-institutional 'authorities'. Keep your your ti.. head up :D. If you need a file to download make a thread or post somewhere, tell me where you will post via PM or something. I will download and reupload for ya somewhere

My two cents here, I just discovered that some guys was using one of my body type in his mod without asking first. Well, you know, I would have preferred he asked but, once you dare publish something on the internet, abandon all ownership you can think of.

So no, no I didn't ask for the mighty banhammer justice. I tried to ask the person in question just so I can help him(her?) include more body type and mention CLS is the reason why they exist but if he never answers then so be it.

Asking is the polite way to go but if we want to issue a policy that clearly state that any mod published in LL is modder ressource, then I think it's fair.

Xmas everyone!

And for my two cents, Grumpf's response to this discourtesy was the best policy to follow.

It's always worth remembering you can't get even with malefactors on the Internet a lot of the time but that you can establish a reputation of being calm and adult at all (or at least most) times. A 'good rep' will serve you well in the long run, and when you say 'actually, that was my mod', guess who people believe?
