I'm A NERD Because......

I actually liked some of my classes and teachers in school. Chemistry was fun even though I didn't understand most of it- fucking periodic table!

 

I LOVE Sci-fi ! Grew up watching old reruns of Star Trek (fell asleep in most of them lol).

 

I listened to weird bands that no one else liked. Rush being prominent among them.

 

I prefer cats to dogs. Never heard of a crazy cat guy lol.

 

I dressed really fucked up for some important occasions in my life. Like that first date with a hot girl. I was too dumb to even be embarrassed lol.

 

I never wanted to stop trick or treating.

 

I have a habit of wandering into the lady's restroom in strange places and then try to act all cool about it when people start yelling and laughing at me.

 

I try to organize every weapon, piece of armor, and item I own in my player homes- hopeless when you have thousands of them!

 

I hold all dragons, elves, orcs and other creatures/races in games to the J.R.R. Tolkien standard.

 

Sometimes I completely miss what is obvious to everyone else- like with jokes.

What does it even mean to be a nerd anymore? If it means liking channels/sites like "I Love Science" or V-Sauce then I'm a Jock.  

Thinking about nerds and jocks reminded me of Revenge of the Nerds and that bought about the recollection that Ogre the Jock became a nerd.

Would he call himself Shrek now?

Revenge of the Nerds... Awesome movies, until they came out (yes I was in my teens when they came out) I didn't even know there was such a person/s who could be referred to as Nerds? Sure we had people who were strange, outsiders of a sort, maybe.. no actually they were considered weird. Then we had the popular kids, the sporties, the westies (they were defined by wearing Flannelette Shirts) Goths (before they started to define themselves into various states of mind, that also goes for the) Punks. But Nerds was a new concept. I cannot say I fit that genre of type though  maybe I did?

 

But to be honest like the Movies we all have a little Nerd in us, it is just how honestly we perceive ourselves that defines what we believe.
