No shine on body

Hello new to modding here

I used nifskope to have a body shine to my character. But in game it doesnt show up until resetting her by switching the gender tab on showracemenu and it was beautiful :D.

Later while playing, the i noticed the gloss on her body disappeared so I resetted her again until switching armors or fast traveling disappears it again.

What do I do for the body shine to stay on her body?

heres the picture yeah the difference is small but it still bugs me a lot\

my mods part1 then the rest

The change for values of gloss and specular in the NIF are extremely bad ideas.
If you need more Glos / spec - edit the textures. Called _s.dds.
For body, head and hands.

If you prefer the method with Nif, then NPC have a shiny body and hands and head are not shiny.

Looks really funny. ;)

If you are new to modding why are you touching and modifing the NIF's??

Is a very bad idea. Until you know exactly what are you making and why.

Use a mod that make that you want.

One of yours mod's is DemoniacTexture but i not know from where you get it.

Try Demoniac- High Quality Glossy Female Body. I think is the only thing that you need.

Install it and select the options with shine that you want. Simply put it lower in your mod list.

If you have Calientes 3.4f and Demoniac must work.

If not work can be a problem with ENB.

Read the description page of Demoniac about the ENB problems and the glossy tweak with ENB.

Lowering demoniac doesnt work tho, thing is, the texture works, muscles abs and the slight sweat but the gloss doenst show at all

Then must be a problem in your ini files.

Download BethIni for correct it.

Simply open BethIni and activate the tick Recomended Tweaks, press High or Ultra depending of your video card and press Save and Exit.

But is higly recomended install ENB because make the game a lot more stable.

ENB correct a lot of fails in the game and is one of the tools that everybody must have.

If your machine not support Full ENB use it in Boost mode.

Then why do you have this installed?

Further Dark Dungeons for ENB.esp

I'm not saying that this has anything to do with the shine issue.

If I was you I would uninstall whatever you used nifscope on and either reinstall it or use a skin with a 'wet look' option.

You also need to remove these

9  9     Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp
 10  a     Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp
 11  b     Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp
 12  c     Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp

and replace them with the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.

You might want to choose between RaceMenu and ECE, at least until you know a bit more. Most people use one or the other.

Is this a race or just some sort of tattoo pack?

 21 15     TheCoenaculiCBBE.esp

Could it be conflicting with the skin?

This can be two things...

Option One: You have the bad nif's manually modified OR have other mod that change the body mesh.

Delete your nif's manually modified.

Re-install CBBE and Demonic and let overwrite all.

Put the two mods in the last positions of the load order, giving it the max priority.

Look what mod are overwriten CBBE and look if you really need it or want it. Disable it and try.

Demonic must overwrite the textures from CBBE.

If not work and have the same problem is the Option Two.

Option Two: Problem in your SaveGame

A lot of problems in the game can come from bad, damaged or corrupted SaveGames.

For be sure, START A NEW GAME and make some test, play a bit, make some fast travels...

If all work good in a NEW GAME is a problem in your savegame. Try clean it with ReSaver.

Be sure you not have ENB or other image modifier like SweetFX or ReShader.

If you have a file called d3d9.dll in the Skyrim directory, the same that have TESV.exe, probably is one ENB.

Rename it to d3d9_BAD.dll for example and try.

okay a video this time just to clarify my pain and frustration

no luck...

even started a new game the gloss lasted until i quickloaded right after my character got unbounded

The Dark Dungeons and USLEEP mentions were nothing to do with the shine thing.

Is that your full mod list that you posted?

Have you tried starting a game with a different PC? If you are loading a preset it may be that the preset is goosed.

You could also try without the HDT hair.

Install Alternate Start - Live Another Life or Skyrim Unbound to save yourself a lot of hassle when starting new games.

In Data\Textures\Actors\female\ the dds-files are for specular. The filename is bodypart_s.dds.
Bodyparts are femalehead, femalebody and femalehands.

Open this DDS with Photoshop, Gimp (*) or Paint.Net (*) and increase the brightness - not too much.

Make a backup before!

* DDS plugin necessary

Well ... I do not know how to say this ... but ... I have to say it ...

So, we, the support people, SUPPOSED that you have eliminated your modified nif's, because the first thing that 2 people have told you is DO NOT DO IT. AND WE IMAGINE that he has done what I have told him, because in doing so, will surely can solve the problem.

I have told you clearly, concretely and concisely to ELIMINATE your modified nif's and his response is a video where it is very clear that the modified nif's ARE ACTIVE.

First because it is the only way to have that super oil glow in the body.

Second, because in his video, in the second 57 it is CLEARLY seen that he does not have it and in the second 58 HE HAS IT because he removes the armor.

And the ONLY way to do that is with 2 different nifs, one for the armor and one for the body.

I have done all the necessary tests to be able to assure what I am saying, modifying my nif's manually to have the effect and reinstalling cbbe to remove it.

Spoiler

nifscope.thumb.png.7a62804ec0451b94fdee67974772c70b.png

I use NMM and now that I think about it, maybe their modified nif are in the overwrite folder of MO and maybe that's why the problem has not been solved even though you have reinstalled cbbe, maybe because the modification of the nif was not done by YOU and really YOU do not know WHERE these modified nif are and you can not delete them.

But you can ask us and we will tell you, because for that we are experts who have been playing and modifying the game for years.

On the other hand, I do not know why it does not work when you load the saved game. It works for me.

I have even eliminated all my utilities, such as ebn, crash fixes, skse memory, ctd fix ... and I have eliminated my mods of lighting and climatology and I have put their own ... and it works for me when I load the game.

If it does not work when you load the game it may be due to a memory problem, maybe your machine or your video card does not have enough memory, or it may be because you have made bad changes in the nifs.

In case you are asked, the answer is: YES I have spent hours modifying my nifs, doing tests, looking for mods in nexus, installing and uninstalling ... trying to reproduce their problem when loading the game, and I have not succeeded.

---------------------------------------------

If you REALLY want that effect, ELIMINATE YOUR NIF'S MANUALLY MODIFIED and use a mod that does, which we already told you in the first answers.

First, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE REMOVED YOUR BAD MODIFIED NIFS. Start the game and check that it does not have the effect when you are naked.

If you can not do it, ask for help, and tell it clearly.

If your manually modified nifs have an error, NOTHING of what we do will work and you will still have problems. It does not matter that you install the mods that you say or that you uninstall them or that they are moved by the loading order or that you use one version or use another. NOTHING WILL WORK ... because surely the error comes from those NIFS MANUALLY MODIFIED and the first thing you have to do is DELETE AND ENSURE that you do not have them.

And to be sure, start the game and check that it does not have the effect when you're naked.

When you have ELIMINATED YOUR BAD MODIFIED NIF, we can begin to try to solve your problem, but this time installing some mods that we all have access to and that we can download to do the corresponding tests in case you have a problem.

The mod you have to install to have that super oil glow in the body are any of these: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57903/?

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77261/

We, the support people, PREFER that, whenever possible, EVERYTHING does the mods, because simply looking at their list of mods we can know what may be happening. Also, we can download them to do tests. If you touch things manually and modify game files, we do not know exactly what you make, and we can not know where the problem might come from. In your case, THANK YOU for saying it in your first message, but you should have listened to messages 2 and 3.

The problem with using those mods that I have indicated is precisely that the effect is ONLY applied to the body when it is NUDE. When an armor is put on the effect disappears because the game replaces the mesh of the body with the mesh of the armor.

If you REALLY want that effect and REALLY want it ONLY when you're naked, you do not need anything else. Only that those mods work correctly.

If you want that effect when you're wearing an armor, what you have to do is modify the textures, which was the first thing Andy14 said, but please, DO NOT DO IT MANUALLY. Look for a mod that does.

I have not found any nexus textures mod that has that brilliant effect. Maybe another support person knows, but the only thing I know is a mod from this site.

Is called Wet Function Redux and is compatible with all body models and with all body textures because, every 5 seconds, it modifies the internal values of meshes and textures automatically, by means of programming, to give the effect of super bright body , even when wearing armor.

See my photos, of course made with Wet Function Redux:

But I warn you that if you start installing mods of this website it will NEVER end.

I've been almost 4 years and I have not finished yet.

The problem with changes of glossines / speckular in Nif is the following:

It must be done for every nif (head, hands, body) and

for any armor that has the body as a mesh, gloves that has a hand mesh, shoes/highheels that has a feet mesh etc. .

And then it is still not enough. All NPC heads are already exported with the original values. So all the NPC would have to be re-exported.
Therefore, editing the specular / glossines in NIF is a stupid idea.

Changes to the specular maps (_s.dds) are effective immediately - except custom NPC's (possibly).
And it can be undone within a few seconds (backup of only 3 files).
And it works excellently for ENB + Weather.ini's (wet in the rain etc.)

omg i got wall texted XD thank you for all your efforts

Guys I just want to thank you for your time and patience just to help a newb, but at last it worked out in the end. Turns out modding Skyrim is as much fun as playing the freaking game itself. Seeing how all these mods just fits and work well together makes it so worth the effort.

Again thank you very much ^_^

The problem was in the BAD MODIFIED NIF, right?

What you have is a modified texture because the change in the second 53 is instantaneous.

But it does not look like the original Demonic texture. Have you modified it manually ???

With texture you can make that reflection and that shine, that's what Demonic has.

But with texture, you can not make the effect of super brightness of the oil.

For that, the only thing I know is Wet Function Redux.
