well Flashy did say he was going to leave LL site for a bit so maybe he deleted his account? maybe. So maybe his work got deleted since his account is gone. never mind  his account is still here so maybe it was an accident since he's taking time for himself.

The download files are now gone also. So this mod is obviously dead, due to the creator taking it down.

Without the authors permission, I would say no. I also got the latest files backed up on my drive.

 

I'm just sad, that the whole thread is gone, since there was so much info in it. Sorely needed info. I wonder what really happened. All his other mods are still up for the moment.

I'd go with the "no" crowd here. Obviously Flashy took it down. Why is his business.

Give the guy some space, let him calm the fuck down. Chances are once the trauma subsides he'll start to make more sense. For now, it's his row to hoe. All we can do is hope and support.

I cant remember exactly what post Flashy made a comment on but he said something about moving to a new location in the real world (at least thats how I understood it) and would be unavailable for a while, that as soon as he could he would be back and adding new features.  Not sure if anything happened after that but got to give modders some space, they are creating free content for us on their own time and his time may be limited for right now.  If somebody is using his stuff to create something without his permission I wouldn't blame him to take it down either until the dust settles.

Having someone you have real and strong feelings for back away is a tough thing to handle no doubt, if you are of any age most of us have encountered it sometime in our life. The key to getting over it is not in the world around you though, deleting evidence of the relationship is not going to fix the hurt.  I feel bad for Flashy, no doubt, thinking you have found something special only to have it go off the rails is tough but I can promise there is no amount of hiding the past that will make it better. Stay busy and focused on something else for a few days and once acceptance settles in things will begin to become history. I am an old guy and have been on both sides, there is no immediate cure for all the negative feelings of a promising relationship gone bad.

Dang, been away for a couple of days and RSE is gone. Kind of brutal to delete such a huge thread. Yes I know it is the authers full right to do so. Still, to me it seems slightly disrespectfull to the hundreds of other people who contributed in that thread. I hope everything gets sorted out, it always sucks when the best modders leave.

I'm going to get some flak for this, but I feel it needs to be said. In my time dealing with RSE (I still have it, but I'm thinking of getting rid of it) I found it more annoying than anything.

I'd get constant "can't find MM anims" errors, any attempt I made with Sex Me Up to decrease my ardor wouldn't work at all so I was never really sure how to reduce it except let it randomly yank me from my bed to go fuck some random thing (which more often than not turned out to be trashcan carla or some raider who would kill me right afterwords). And even that's when it decided to work at all, most of the time I'd wake up, get a message saying "your ardor was satisfied" while nothing happened, only to find myself unable to draw weapons. Hell, even disabling ardor didn't seem to do anything.

 

With shenanigans it was little better. People would have shenanigans and never redress much less return to their power armors they abandoned to have sex, resulting in a prydwen full of nudists staring forlornly at their power armors until the next sex act. I had to constantly run behind Ingram just to get her back in her power armor, only to scream in frustration as she started yet another sex act which broke things. Not to mention when Danse would get out of his power armor suddenly when I wasn't looking, I'd go out for a mission suddenly to realize Danse had no armor. Ugh.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by Sexlab and how things more or less worked the way they were supposed to.

If he does come back and restart this, here's a few QOL things that I'd suggest:
 

1. Shenanigans: Option to block people wearing power armors.
2. Everything: Forcing reequip after sex (unless it's interrupted by combat).
3. Shenanigans: Range from player also checks for proximity/LOS to other NPCs so they're not fucking out in the middle of diamond city or in the prydwen in front of everyone (except in brothel zones)
4. Ardor: Implementing some form of Sex 'Em Up to deal with Ador that doesn't involve just waiting around for something to fuck you.

I would imagine that having the mod up would give him an 'excuse' to keep coming back to LL, but as he said, he needs a break, so he probably took it down to cull out that reason.  When you are hurting, you sometimes do things that don't make any sense to the casual observer, and while we may have some idea of what he is going through, we don't actually KNOW.  One can only hope that Time heals, and that eventually, Joe will make his way back, and until then, we must wait.  The wait might be short, it might be long, it might be forever...that will all depend on Flashy's heart.

 

If it turns out that the wait is forever, then that is just how it is.  I, for one, will continue to look into RSE, limited as my skills are, and in the event that Flashy comes back, I will be ready to continue helping him, but if it comes to pass that the RSE we have is the RSE we have to go on with, I will happily do so, and continue to thank him for it.

 

It is an amazing thing when someone takes it upon themselves to give something like a mod back to the community, a thing that can sometimes shift the paradigm of the game completely, but we have to remember that the mod author is not the mod, and that they have this thing called Life fucking with them, which is something they cannot just code away when it gets rough.  I won't lie and say it doesn't matter, but my disappointment is such a small thing compared to the gratitude and respect I have for modders.

 

@Flashy (JoeR)  I don't know if you will ever see this, boss, but God speed.  I have never laid eyes on you, but I count you as a friend...when you hurt, I hurt, and as much as I love your mod and can't imagine playing without it, well, that is roughly how much I hate that these things are happening to you and Chic.  Just get better, boss...we will see you when we see you, and thanks again for this truly amazing mod.  You are the best.

That's probably because you got gay sex enabled without having male/male animations installed. At least that's how I understood it.

Fourplay is such a stilted uncoordinated mess, AAF+RSE was actually nearly as functional as a full Sexlab install

 

Thankfully I picked up the last AAF release version before this occurred, sad to see it go sideways and end up in deletionville.

Flashy had just started converting this mod to AAF from fourplay. Before you get inundated with people trying to clobber you, go try it out on fourplay before wagging your finger. By all accounts the mod was a champion on that framework. This is a different framework and flashy was the FIRST to bring this massive a mod over. We, and he, expected consternation and gnashing of teeth. We weren't yet out of that phase. So you are reading feelings of sadness and disappointment from people who were looking to be a part of the move and making it work like it did over there.

And anyway, how much did you pay for this mod that disappoints you so?
