Guest Donkey Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Just found a cool mod who adds lot's of new creature types to new vegas.Too bad apart from sexus, there is no other adult one. Some these new creatures kind of look like something even oblivion could use. Â Monster mod
Mashi Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 IWR Invisible wall remover. Removes 'walls' in the terrain and other areas which stop you from climbing mountains and the like. Electro-city adds lights, lighting and crews to put lights back into the wasteland and common roads. Detailed normals increases base texture quality for normal texture maps. Â
mezzoforte Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I'm suprised Willow isn't on the list.  It's a pretty good, fully voiced original companion that comes with some decent quests  http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41779
dewguru Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I second Willow for a companion mod. In my opinion the best one out there. Â http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41779 Â There is another decent companion mod as well in Wendy Gilbert. Â http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=43247# Â Â
Tregarin Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Why has no-one mentioned the one thing that I just cannot play without now...? Â EVE - Essential Visual Enhancements http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=42666 Â Â Seriously, until you hit a raider with a laser rifle and have his body rise into the air before his flesh vapourizes and his bones suddenly scatter across the landscape, you haven't played NV. (warning: will impact your frame-rate) Â Works very well with WME too... Â Â Oh, and if you're someone who likes spraying blood around like me, you'll want Enhanced Blood Textures as well... http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34917
sora3 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 There are a couple of mods I use. Â New Vegas Restoration - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35100 This makes the Strip a lot larger and a lot better looking. There are new updates coming soon but it's well worth the wait. Â New Vegas Freeside Restoration - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=42808 Freeside really disappointed me as it felt like a very small slum city. Heck, some of the places I grew up in China were better looking than this. So the guys that did NVR above did a Freeside restoration which is 10x better than Obsidian's piss effort. Â New Vegas Unofficial Patch - http://www.ravenmodding.terminal47.net/?p=768 This one is more up to date and constantly updated as new stuff is released. don't use this and the Unofficial Patch located on Nexus. That one on Nexus is horribly out of date. Â Interior Lighting Overhaul - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35794 The interior lights were pretty much static throughout my vanilla run. This mod made the interior a little bit darker. But the light effects done by this mod are certainly impressive. The lights add more atmosphere, especially if you have a weather-effects mod. Â Project Reality - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=42180 This shits over Nevada Skies as I thought Nevada Skies made everything unnaturally bright. This realistically does the lighting and weather a lot better than Nevada Skies and is more friendlier on a low end computer. Â NMC's texture mod for New Vegas - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=43135 I was a big fan of NMC's texture mod for FO3 and now, he's done one for New Vegas. There are a lot more brown but it's definitely worth it. Â Alternatively, you can use Detailed Normals and Poco Bueno's HD texture which is a bit more friendly. So take your pick from the pics. Â Project Ultimatum - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40593 NPCs now react when you have a gun out. No more 'Look at me and my gun aimed at your face.' Do that, and you'll probably up with more bullets in you. Also, there is a slavery based system as well so even your Sexout will work on that. Â NCR Rearmament - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40139 I thought the vanilla NCR armours were pretty bland and pathetic compared to the Legion. Now, this is more like it with the tactical image I get from the official sketches. Â Authentic Burned Man - http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41974 I though Obsidian's Burned Man was a bit pathetic as it didn't match his art and after I killed him, he looked like he had a walk with charcoal instead of pitch and burned alive. So this mod changes his appearance to be really burnt badly. And I never looked back since.
Shantotto Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Freeside really disappointed me as it felt like a very small slum city. Heck, some of the places I grew up in China were better looking than this. So the guys that did NVR above did a Freeside restoration which is 10x better than Obsidian's piss effort. Â But... it's supposed to be a small slum city?

sen4mi Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Here are some mods which I like, which have not been listed here, yet (and I like and use over half of the mods that Nessa listed and I will be trying some others which have been listed in this thread. I also use stuff like PocoBueno installed over top of OjoBueno -- I have not decided if that is "best" but it seems to work well enough...) Â I have not encountered all of these yet, in game, so I am marking the mods I have not encountered yet in the game with a "looks nice" label. Â Refined Casino People and Suits for black suits. I am not sure if this totally fits New Vegas -- for all I know Vegas is a pastel type of place -- but most of the people that I see wearing suits have favored black suits. (texture mod with plugin) Â A Light Shining in Darkness This is a retexture of Joshua Graham's pistol in Honest Hearts. I have not actually seen it in game yet, but it looks nice (texture replacer - "looks nice") Â A Van Graff Scorned restores a scene which was apparently cut because of lack of animation support. ("looks nice") Â Drugs are Bad Mkay pretty colors!! (This adds visual effects to drugs, but may conflict with other content which modifies drugs unless you go into FNVEdit and combine records, it might also have odd visual consequences if you mix it with other mods which modify visuals.) Â Joshua Sawyer's mod Joshua Sawyer was the lead obsidian designer for the game, and these are changes that match his tastes (since he wrote it), but which were not included in the game for any of a variety of reasons. This is incompatible with most mods that add armor or weapons to the game, requiring you either not use them, requiring that you go in and fix things up by hand, or requiring that you live in a wasteland with nonsensical overpowered add-on gear. Personally, I mostly live without other people's addons, and when I do include them I stop playing and try to fix them up when I encounter something horridly overpowered. Some day I promise myself I will do something systematic about this (like maybe make a "jsawyer compatibility plugin for scr"). The link I posted here is for v4, but he keeps updating it, so you might want to check for newer blog entries (after he has had a chance to write them). You can also look for jsawyer mod compatibility patches on other mods you use. This is also probably not compatible with Arwen's tweaks because of the overlap between these mods. Â Modern Combat Pistol Shooting This is an FO3 mod which includes a plugin for FNV. It contains several sets of animation replacers for which update how you use pistols -- sneaking animations, running animations, and so on... You can use this to make different characters "feel like different characters" (but this means changing the options you have installed and enabled when you switch characters, so you might want to take careful notes if you ever go back to play older characters.) Â ThrowMine lets you place mines a few feet away instead of under your feet. Â The Strip Credit Check Cap amount change for when you want a reason to do be doing other stuff before entering The Strip. Â Unified HUD for if you have several mods installed that modify the HUD. Â Dog Eye Fix if Cheyenne's eyes pop out of her head, that means that you have not installed a mod which fixes that problem. This one will fix it.
srayesmanll Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Take a look at the entire New Vegas Uncut series. sen4mi above mentioned "A Van Graff Scorned" which is one of mods in that series. The author basically restored some of the things cut by Bethesda. One is a mod which opens Freeside so that it is one large area rather 3 separate walled off areas. Also adds more gamblers wandering around, NCR refugees, and even pickpockets. Make sure to read the entire text of the mod - if you have an underpowered machine it may not work well. Â If you have a machine running 64bit OS, and have more than 4gb of memory, look for the 4gb patch on Nexus as well. Â There is an Open Strip mod as well that does to the strip what Uncut does for Freeside. Â Populated Casinos increases the number of casino patrons in each casino (3 versions - light, medium, and normal). Useful for some of the adult mods here and on nexus.
annika Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Any educated guess about how compatible "New Vegas Uncut: Freeside Open" and "The Strip Open" would be with various Sexout mods? If I do install them, am I just begging for trouble?
Kashked Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I don't see why it would conflict with Sexout, but it might give you other headaches. Especially if you use rePopulated wasteland, or other mods that adds a lot of content to the areas.
srayesmanll Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Although there was a general increase in population, I would say at most it doubled the NPCs in those areas. BrutalRapers did not suddenly go nuts with raping (of course, that does depend on the settings set for BR...) Sexout mods worked rather well with the 2 mods. Kashked is right in that these mods in addition to rePopulatedWasteland and others could cause SO mods like BR to have issues. However, tweaking the settings of SO mods like BR would compensate. The real issue is memory. If you running a 32-bit OS, you are limited by memory and expansion mods like these can cause slowdowns and even crashes. If on a 64-bit OS machine with more the 4gb of memory (a 64-bit OS on a machine with 4gb or less does not benefit from the 4gb patches), the 4gb patches should be used when using any type of mods that increases the number of NPCs. Actually, the 4gb patch should ALWAYS be used, but is more necessary with population mods.
